OMG, really? You mean to tell me a man suspected of murder did not actually admit to committing murder?
Someone call the presses!

Whatever. You may not have seen the actual broadcast of this footage, I suspect. In it, over the course of weeks if not months, this guy Patrick befriends Joran van der Sloot, talking random stuff, driving around in his car and smoking pot, before he finally, carefully, broaches the subject of Natalee Holloway. While Joran might have been on his guard regardless, this was a situation in which he was willing to discuss this matter in great detail and he clearly confided in Van der Eem and told him many things that he had not admitted to previously (if I recall he was also quite emotional about it on tape) … and yet he did not admit to killing her. Now of course, it might be argued that to Joran, lying is second nature, so that nothing he says should be taken seriously. Still, though, this hidden camera footage puts Joran in an environment as private and confidential as possible and he still does not admit any of it.
His failure to admit to murder is only credible evidence towards his innocence if you’re inclined to believe he’s a credible person. We have no reason to believe he is at all.
It’s just a silly thing to point out. Especially, when lo and behold, another dead woman has turned up in connection to him.
Why do things that happen to murders keep happening to him?
I wonder if Peru could be convinced to send his head to a good taxidermist, and then mail it to Birmingham, where we can mount it on the highway sign on I-65.
Well since it was alleged earlier in this thread that he admitted to murdering Holloway and bragged about it, I think it is not quite silly to point this out he did no such thing, regardless of what you believe about him. Also, even if Van der Sloot is not a credible person (something that my earlier posts bear out, I think), I still think that the situation that he ended up being filmed in lend slightly more credence to what he says than, let’s say, an interview on national television or a police interrogation in which he might be assisted by a lawyer. You might still choose not to believe him, that is up to you - but I still think it makes sense to pay attention to the circumstances under which he said what he said.
Looks like van der Sloot has been arrested in Santiago.
From what I’ve read about the father’s actions in defense of his son, I hope the father is rotting in hell by now, assuming there is a hell. I have a son too and would do what I could for him, but there comes a time when you have to stand aside and let your child stand responsible for his actions.
It can be, for a psychopathic one. One of the hallmarks of psychopathy is an aggressive narcissism, often coupled with grandiosity and an overinflated sense of self worth.
I was shocked while watching the video of him being taken into custody that he isn’t handcuffed. True there are several guards around him, but consider-
-He’s a pampered 22 year old Euro kid who is facing a strong possibility of life imprisonment in a Peruvian prison
-He’s being arrested for a violent murder and is suspected in at least one other
-He’s a big guy (tall and broad built)
Personally I would as soon die quickly from “suicide by cop” by grabbing one of the guns from a guard and opening fire, especially if I was guilty, than spend many years as some mid-level drug lord’s bitch before dying of monotony in a place with rusty bars and few toilets. Even if he’s a sociopath (I understand that fear and self preservations are the most powerful emotions they experience) you’d think this would cross his mind as well. I wonder what precautions they have against him doing that.
He’s also cropped his hair close and it looks like he’s dyed the remainder red. Not a terribly sharp soul when it comes to getaways is he?
I just saw the video a few min. ago and thought the same thing—this guy is a serial murder suspect who was caught while on the run (after fleeing across international borders) and he dosen’t even merit a pair of mollyfocking handcuffs?!?
Well, here’s the Locked Up Abroad episode from Lima. Doesn’t look like Club Fed.
Assuming he really did both crimes, one assumes that he figures that as he got away with it once, he’ll get away with it again.
How most criminals are caught in the end ![]()
Now Van Der Slut has been charged in Alabama for extortion. He received 15,000 for information on the location of Holloway’s body!!
I hope Natalee’s Mother can get some peace now. I have a lot of respect for her never giving up on trying to find her daughters killer. Van Der Snoot is one psycho I’m glad will never again murder another young woman.

I’ll be glad if no psychos never murder another young woman. ![]()
*Firstly, he doesn’t believe that hey will actually charge him
*Secondly, he figures even if it does go to trial, they will dismiss or find him innocent again.
Sociopaths like Joran can’t stop. He and his buddys were drugging and raping tourist girls for years. Something went wrong with Natalie. Probably an OD.
I always assumed Joran would harm someone else. He’s not going to stop voluntarily. Prison is the only way to protect society from a guy like this. His dad recently died. So, there’s no one to save his sorry ass this time.
