It’s not “technically vandalism”, it IS vandalism. There’s not much outrage over the rock itself, but more over the entitled attitude that the vandals expressed. It is an attitude that should not be condoned. It’s one of those, “This is why we can’t have nice things.” situations. I mean, why is vandalizing ever a crime, if it does not affect functionality?
Kids damaging a hospital to the extent of preventing patient care would probably be charged with something stronger than vandalism.
As far as not caring, you certainly do seem to care quite a bit about this rock. You have spent more time and energy here than anyone else.

And those people DON’T come into threads and spend this much time and energy talking about how much they don’t care. If you don’t care about some stupid rock, you go, “Hey, this post/story/article is about a stupid rock. I won’t bother to read it, as it does not interest me.” They don’t make up 25% of the posts on the topic.

I only have one question to ask… why the repetition? I understand that you’re not impressed by the rock, anyone’s emotional response about its loss or the people who destroyed it, by why is it necessary to basically say the same thing over and over and over again?
