Wadjya have for supper tonight? or I'm bored

Slept until 6:00, wife slept until 1:00 and never bothered to go to the store.

We had footlong chili dogs from A&W.

I’m going to make the kids chicken nuggets in a few minutes. After they go to bed I’m making myself some spaghetti. Later, when my husband comes home from this stupid festival they have him working at, I’ll throw a pizza in the oven for him.

I had some garden herb Chicken Voila. I love that stuff.

We went to the International Seafood Fest (aka FishFest) in the lower harbor. We ended up having lots of deep fried scallops, cajun whitefish, salmon, some other kind of whitefish, and seafood chowder. And beer. Lots and lots of beer.

The night before I tried my hand at middle eastern food. Homemade tabhouli, hummus & tzatziki, falafel from a box. The falafel was heavy. The tabhouli & hummus were pretty good. The tzatziki - the only thing in the whole bunch I make with any regularity - rocked.

Well, unusual circumstances last night. Hubby had the two older girls in Morgantown, WV, visiting friends, so it was just me and the 3-year-old home. She saw a commercial for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and has been hounding me to rent it for her; so I rented it, got her a Lunchables (a rare treat, since they’re ungodly overpriced, and not very nutritious, but at 3, you can get away with that shit). For me, I purchased a good brand of frozen Creamed Chipped Beef. I’m the only one in my family who likes the stuff, so it was a rare opportunity for me. Toasted 3 slices of whole wheat bread, buttered it, and poured the heated beef over it. Yum. Added some unsweetened applesauce for an effortless fruit/veggie serving.

I just want to say it’s strange, but this is the first time ever that dinner worked out exactly as I planned it!

Last night we had mac’n’cheese with cheddar and parmesan and petit pois added. It was pretty good.

I’m thinking about cherry clafoutis for breakfast. I’m thinking seriously about it. Cherry and blueberry. I’d better thaw the blueberries right now.
