I made marinated chicken thighs, rice with cheddar and a saute of red pepper, portobello mushrooms and snow peas.
Dessert is a nectarine and some cherries.
Yum.

Pumpkin seeds. Maybe if I get out of here soon, I can go find a real dinner. But I suspect that I won’t be able to sucker anyone into going to dinner with me tonight, so I’ll be dining at Chez Moi. Which means – soup or soup? Hmm, I think I’ll have the soup! Oh, but there is a Trader Joe’s right by my house, so maybe a little detour is called for . . .
Chicken piccata. I forgot that I had capers. They make all the difference.
My husband is just waking up. He’s working midnight until 8 a.m. Our hours are a little odd. For his breakfast/ my dinner we have a choice of fried rice with lots of veggies and/or stuffed baked potatoes. I think I’ll opt for the potatoes, as I already had friend rice today. Bok choy, eggs, peas, ham, and broccoli. Yum.
I made Tandoori Chicken yesterday and still have some leftovers. I will probably make some fired bell peppers with onions to go along with that. And bread of course - that trusted friend of the single male. I reeeeaallly don’t like to cook, so this sounds like a five course meal to me.
BBQed Ahi Ahi, Thai vegetable Goyza, Kalamata olive bread, and a green salad on the side. Choice of white or red Chilean wine.
Hey, I don’t cook my 50%, so I have to make up for that with variety!
D’oh :smack: FRIED, I SAY, FRIED.
I was going to have some egg salad or maybe some breaded eggplant with marinara, but I foolishly consumed a hot dog and popcorn at the theatre and they aren’t sitting too well. I’m not sick; they just feel like bricks in the belly.
So now I’m thinking…Oatmeal.

Sad but true

It’s just coming up to lunchtime here but I already know what I’ll be having for dinner tonight (Thursday) - whatever’s on the menu in the Green Room at the Opera House. I have rehearsals there tonight for concerts on Saturday and Sunday. They do a really cheap and cheerful roast + veg. I hope it’s pork tonight.
For dinner I decided to have lunch food: I made a turkey sandwich (deli turkey on fresh French bread, w/just a little light mayo) and had some store-bought macaroni salad, with a bottle of my favorite iced tea. Dessert was a few slices of Chocolate Orange. I’m feelin’ pretty fat and happy right about now … and I plan to have more of the same for dinner tomorrow night, as well.
Mexican food and (cheap) champagne. We’re having something else and expensive champagne later this week.
It’s about the 72nd consecutive day of crappy, cold, wet weather in this part of New England, so I pulled out all the comfort-food stops tonight: A nine-pound baked chicken, homemade macaroni and cheese, mashed spiced yams, braised kale with Vidalia onions, and for dessert, bread pudding with raisins and real whipped cream. By happenstance, everybody who lives in the house was available and hungry, so we ate and ate, and now we’re ready to face yet another rainy day tomorrow.
Sometimes comfort food is the only thing that works!
Grilled fresh Copper River Sockeye Salmon filet w/lemon juice, butter and garlic
Fresh baked whole yam with butter
Fresh steamed green beans
Fresh boiled white corn on the cob with butter
drool…
Best dinner I’ve had in a while, thanks for asking!
