Tonight I had a hearty helping of sweet and sour chicken 2 eggrolls and a little beef fried rice.
Salad.
For my wife: lettuce, tomato, olives, and chopped celery, with mayonaise.
For me: lettuce, tomato, olives, avocado, and feta cheese with caesar dressing and celery sticks with peanut butter on the side.
Frozen Healthy Choice dinner, pasta of some sort.
Oh, and some wine
Sausage and cheese omelot with a couple pieces of toast.
Half of a meatball, mushroom, and pepperoni pizza.
Zyada and I made some shrimp fried rice, with onions, garlic, peas, and sprouts, seasoned with some mushroom soy sauce and a little cayenne. That’s fresh shrimp of course, not frozen or canned.
There’s even enough left over for lunch tomorrow.
The last piece of ten-day-old Greek pizza and two peanut butter cookies
I really didn’t feel like cooking, so we hit the local Whole Foods market and hit the food bar. I came home with a salad of mixed greens, carrots, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers and ranch dressing. Oh, and I can’t forget the sourdough roll and tapioca pudding. The husband came home with tofu masala and rice.
I’m going to have to pull some meat out of the freezer tonight so we can have a homemade dinner tomorrow.
I went to Ted’s, a local Mexican restaurant (perhaps the best in the city) with a few friends. [NoClueBoy, party of 12…]
I had some chiken fajitas. And a ton of Atomic Salsa and chips. Oh yeah, a couple of Tecates.
A friend of mine had just got back from a wedding at Ford Castle (or A Ford castle, I’m not sure) in the 1000 Islands area of New York and had some wonderful pics to show us.
My boss took me out to dinner to celebrate the end of the Summer Day Camp program I’ve been running the last nine weeks (it’s over! Yayyy!). Appetizers of crab, parmesan and spinach dip and calamari. Iceberg Wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. Prime Rib (rare) with Tiger Prawns and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. And quite a few pints of Mac and Jack’s African Amber.
Yummm.
This is like one of those commercials. I did not, however, have a Lean Cuisine.
I had a bowl of half whole wheat, half soy angel hair pasta. This pasta was tossed with broccoli rabe, red onion, roasted garlic, olive oil and freshly grated, well-aged parmegiano reggiano cheese. With this concoction, I had a plate (read: like a pound, I’m pregnant and hungry!) of lightly steamed sugar snap peas and baby carrots.
Before I consider sleeping tonight, I will eat a piece of delicious peach-berry pie that Mr. tlw made this afternoon. It’s calling to me, but I’m holding out under the “anticipation heightens pleasure” principle.
Havent had it yet. I think I’m gettin pizza. Man I am hungry.
We went to a local chicken place (I think it’s called Golden Chick but we just call it Yummy Chicken), and I had some dinner rolls with the chicken fingers.
Generic Raisin Bran…it’s called Raisin Avalanche, I think. I can’t see the box from here. It was the only thing that didn’t make my stomach turn when I looked at it (my appetite goes wonky during certain times of the month ).
We haven’t done the dishes in ages, and therefore haven’t really wanted to cook since there isn’t any counterspace (or clean pots) to cook with! I am DEFINITELY doing the dishes tomorrow, and we’ll likely make a nice meal with a bottle of wine…our usual “Saturday Date Night”. I want to get this apartment clean this weekend, since we leave for a week NEXT weekend, and I don’t want to come back to a messy place!
Oh, and my reason for not doing the dishes? Water conservation. Sure it’s been a week since the blackout, but still…between that and sheer exhaustion from a bout of insomnia and work running me ragged, I figure I can get away with it
Fresh tuna, grilled rare (with portabello, capers and lemon), green beans, spinach salad with fresh pineapple and blue cheese, and some pinot grigio. Yum.
Almond crusted walleye with a baked potato and salad with honey mustard dressing on the side. Mr Ruby had a slab of prime rib.
And, uh, no, I didn’t prepare this feast. We went to a local restaurant with a couple of friends this evening.
Mmmmmmmm.
I had a hamburger, chips, a salad and some baked beans. We cooked on the grill. YUM
Orange Skinner and I had pizza with a friend tonight.
A salmon sausage and some iced tea, with some jalapeno chips as dessert. (I was at the PNE, what can I say?)
Nothing. I usually only eat once a day so I don’t really eat dinner anyway.
