We’re about 2 blocks from a Jiffy lube joint, here at the Rehab.
I wonder if he got into one of their vats? Maybe?
Or a grease pit at a fast food place?
Yup. Or to claw their way out through the walls.
This is certainly not a feral; though he might be a barn cat from a place where the barn cats were patted. They usually don’t want to come into a closed room either; but he’s probably too weak to object, and will be used to being inside by the time he gets his strength back.
A lot of adolescent toms who don’t have a home don’t make it to 2. Toms who are in their prime keep driving them off. If you’re not a house cat (in which I’m including indoor-outdoor cats and cared for porch cats), being a tomcat is a hard and precarious life.
That explains it! When you described his temperament I wondered if he was an orange boy. Orange tabby boys are total cuddle bugs.
I’ve heard that about orange boys.
Is that one of your “soul showers”?
I’ve been meaning to tell you how much I loved that, I’m using it daily
You never knew my first one.
Well, OK, sometimes he was a cuddle bug. But only with me, and maybe my mother. And she, who loved cats, was a bit afraid of him; and I frequently had wounds from him.
I miss that cat. But I’m weird.
(The current orange cat is a cuddle bug. But not as much so as the white one with orange spots.)
The white and orange boy in my picture is a total lovey dovey.
Beck, I’ll bet jojo had a soul shower when you patted him. I’m trying to get the term out there. I need to find the name of the musician that said it in a concert.
I had a “soul shower” when I saw that pitiful critter laying on the ground and saw close up how bad of shape he really was.
I think the Vet had a “soul shower” when he examined him the first time. The Vet told me all the vet techs were crying and he had allergies himself, his eyes were damp.
I think Son-of-a-wrek had a “soul shower”. He doesn’t really care for cats, he says. But, He said, when he left to take Jojo to vet, he should have a siren on his truck, that cat was an emergency case.
The whole of the rehab inmates are having “soul showers” simply because they care.
Jojo. The gift that keeps giving.
My heart is full tonight, knowing he’s getting help.
The Vet tech who goes in over Sunday texted me this morning.
She said Jojo was awake.
She eyedroppered water in his mouth. He didn’t eat yet. She gave him his meds.
She told me he was in good spirits and looking spry, altho’ very bedraggled.
She said this was a good report (like she had to tell me).
I’m happy
He must be so happy to be safe, warm, and have loving hands tend to him. I hope you will get to see him soon.
Me too!!
I’m begging the Li’l wrekker to go see him tomorrow for me and take some pictures.
She’s not committing.
She’s not real happy about the prospect of me over caring for another pitiful animal. She says I get super caught up in the process.
I told her it’s better than me sitting around moping and worrying about my own crap.
So There!! Lil’Speed-demon.
Mother has spoken!!
To a certain extent, I agree. But ignoring one’s own health plight doesn’t make it go away and can make it worse. Still, I’m rooting for Jojo, and hoping he may have a good life from now on.
I never forget my illness. I can’t.
Awesome, Beck!
My dad once found Luci sitting beside me, licking my face after I had a seizure. Cats know.
I was thinking my Siamese would know but just wait til I died and start bitching because the goodest evah home-made liver treats, were subpar.
But maybe Jojo will take up the job for me.
All right. Nobody’s dying around here!
Call from Vet clinic
The tech told me Jojo was very active when she went in.
She took him out of his hospital cage and let him follow her around while she did her chores. The Vet offices 3 legged Lab and Jojo actually ‘played’ in a way.
She said it was very sweet.
Jojo is getting around good. She said he looked like hell but didn’t seem to be in alot of pain.
She medicated him and put his food out. He eats canned food fine.
I’m so relieved. He still has problems but less than he had.
You’re an example to me. I hope to become like you in a couple of decades. You remind me of my grandma, always doing exactly what she thought needed to be done.
If to much trivia made your brain bigger I’d look like Hector Hammond.
Oh good! – and he’s dog-friendly. That’ll make things easier.
I thought that exactly.
Bayliss will want to tend him and scoot him around. That’s what he does to Hari
I know Betsy will like him she’s a lover of all smaller animals.
The lil’shits, (Mid-Ds Chihuahuas ) will give a noisy greeting and then stay away giving side-eyes. They’ve had many run-ins with the Siamese. And they lost.
I’m most worried about Bear and Meeko. The are just so opinionated and holier-than-thou. It may be an adjustment for them.
