The sloth bear.
Thor, if you’re feeling generous, could you spare us one of the thunderstorms after Nava has finished with them? It’s far hotter over here than us pale pasty folks are used to, a bit of cool weather would suit us just fine.
In other news, we had a bake sale competition at irk today based on making cakes with healthy stuff in 'em. My boss won with her beetroot and chocolate cake…I am claiming half the victory 'cos I supplied the organic beetroot!
Besides that, I got nussinks.
Butters, unfortunately, Percy regressed and started hissing at Sah-son again. I talked to the animal shelter and they will take him back. No hard feelings towards us because we gave it a good try, we can adopt another cat if we want to.
They suggested totally leaving him alone for a bit and see if that helps, so that is what we are doing now.
I hate to take him back, so I’m giving him a bit longer.
Maybe he could find a happier place to live, but I think he won’t be happy anywhere.
I felt stupid doing it, but I called the city about the recycle bin out front. Good thing, because I would have gotten a citation for it. There’s a code number on it and we found out it belongs to the vacant house across the street, so Sah-son dragged it over there. Why their bin should have ended up on this side of the street?
If I ask the county to pick up extra trash (furniture for example) I have to put it across the street. The mechanical arm that picks it up might hit the power lines on my side of the street.
Is there a Morgantown VA? I could Google but I’m lazy. I know we have lots of Nashvills all over the country but I always thought of Morgantown as more unique. (And the pod rides are full as well).
Dentist wekt OK; I survived which is all I really expect. Got a piece missing from a filling that will need replaced in a couple weeks but other than that I am defying my genetics and habits and keeping basically a full set of teeth. Not quite a full deck but that’s a different doctor. ![]()
Poor Percy
Rather productive morning and not-too-bad lunch. I still have a baggie of cherries - I’ll have them later.
On the way home, I need to stop for windshield wipers, milk, and cereal. I might grab something for supper, too, just to make my life easier. We shall see.
Meanwhile, three anna half more hours of work stuff. I think I can make it.
Waiting on repair guy. I had a country ham, egg, and cheese bagel for brunch.
Better than a Drop Bear.
sari ,sorry about Percy.
Actually slept in this morning (8am), and broke fast with my once-a-week pancake and bacon breakfast and the Sunny Side cafe. We’ll see if this causes me to take a nap like I have the last three times I ate pancakes and bacon.
Took out the garbage even though I only had half a bin full, but everybody else had there bins out, so I conformed…
94F here, and the weekend is supposed to remain just as hot. Guess staying indoors is not a bad option…
nettie, I checked and it looks like we still have to go through the drive thru here.
sari, it sounds like Percy might be cut out to be a good barn cat. Some cats just aren’t suited to being pets.
Still slogging through the cow-orker’s area at irk, but it’s almost done. Good thing too, as I have an audit to prep for and it’s my boss’ first one, so he’s a nervous Nellie.
I promise, I won’t do anything to him to get me locked up.
blurf It is one step forward and another two back. My computer is acting up again. It is really the software. When I go into the accounting program to print reports it will automatically log me out after one report. I have never had this problem before. So I call the help desk and they said to log all the way out and back in through the portal. Do that and print one report and it kicked me out of the entire portal. Called the help desk again and she said have you rebooted. so now I am rebooting and will try again. It if doesn’t work this time I give up. At least for the day.One would think the feds would have better technology but no…so aggravated.
OMG! I came up with a simple, cheap, sheer genius solution to a problem, and the boss actually liked it! I was afraid he’d shoot it down because he didn’t come up with it, since he likes to have all the answers. But he just said to keep it simple (you can’t get much simpler than a block with 2 rounded edges…)
Go ME!!!
And barely more than an hour left in my day. I am so ready to be gone! I think I’ll have some cherries…
Howdy Y’all! The sky is fallin’! Fallin’ sky is wet in case y’all did not know that. That ended cee-mint pond time. Dindin shall be leftover poke loin and cubed steak 'n gravy with rice, peas 'n carrots and rolls. Methinks tomorrow shall be magic intartoobz pizza.
OK off to surf these here intartoobz.
Congratulations!
A scattered thunderstorm here, a veritable Frog Strangler.
We have new hat

My condolences.
What?
You don’t like Chaperons?
So repair guy was a no call/no show:mad:, so off to the laundromat. The I can put my kitchen back together.
Nice hat. ![]()
Where’d you get a hat like that? ![]()
Swampy, da big market sounds fun! We only have a little market here on Saturdays, and it’s very expensive, so I usually get my produce from the little run-down stand in the sketchy neighborhood or from guys who sell out of the back of the truck. (And any time I have to be in Atlanta, I take a big cooler and detour east to the DeKalb Farmers Market on the way home. That place is amazing!)
Gotta go to Savannah in the morning - final signatures for Tony’s settlement. We won’t be rich, but we can finally pay off some debts and do a little work on the house. Woot.
Howdy Y’all! Dindin has been ingested. We’ve had some big rain and tstorms with maybe more in store. Sure hope so even if’n it means I can’t get out and mow first thing tomorrow. We need the rain.
sari sah-son looks quite stylish in the hat!
Butters it is a nice market. We have some great produce stands around here. That’s where I but stuff like watermelons and 'maters.
doggio shall we send the repair guy a case of PSWSLNS?
