Waiting for the MMP

sunny yay for bein’ done!

CupCakes what red said except add in possibly part of November and could start in March.

On that note I shall now join OYKW in the boudoir.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

ETA: First on Three!

yep. Still better than snow on the ground in April.

I may just consider it. I’m hoping to go to a memorial for a fallen brother from our old Butler riding club. So me and a bunch of other folks I haven’t seen for a while. And I know every back way into and out of Morgantown. It just could happen.

I will get the hell off your lawn right now! :dubious:

Baker, I’m in SE Georgia. Our actual high temp was 104 this afternoon, before the thunderboomer hit. My weather app said that the heat index was 117. (And one of my oldest friends is from Topeka. We used to trade summer visits in high school. Kansas felt better at the same temperature, because the humidity was much lower than here. But the mayflies! I don’t think I’d ever seen a mayfly until I was about 17, and we went to some lake with her grandparents. Crazy bugs!)

It’s been a good news/bad news sort of month so far. We have reached a settlement with Tony’s insurance. The state Board of Workers Comp has approved it. Woo. (But we have no income until the insurance company signs that check. Not woot. I called the bank today to tell them that the mortgage payment would be delayed this month. But they agreed not to report it late since I called. So… yay?)

The Boy got some really good news today - another scholarship award. $3000, which, along with his current job, covers his tuition, fees, books, and expenses for the coming year. Sigh of relief.

And Tony nearly got himself served with divorce papers tonight. He made a comment that led to a comment that led to an argument. In the heat of the moment, I was informed that I wasn’t “allowed” to have an opinion on a certain subject. I was smart enough to walk away and cool off. A half-hour later, I asked whether he meant that bit. He apologized. And I feel zero percent bad about any of it. But I was fully prepared to start discussing child custody and division of mutual assets if I’d heard a second iteration of the original statement. He married an informed, opinionated woman. I haven’t changed in that regard!

That’s WV, not VA

I don’t have a lawn, I have a postage stamp.
If you stood there I could hand you the weed whacker and you could cut the entire front for me.

I was thinking I wanted to plant pineapple sage https://bonnieplants.com/growing/growing-pineapple-sage/ next year and I realized it would take up almost the entire front yard.

In parenthetical news, The Boy is now working back of the house at the University dining service. Mostly food preparation/sous chef stuff. In recent days, he has done stuff like breaking down vast amounts of fruit - oranges, melons, grapes, etc. - and meats like salmon and lamb. Food service has improved since my day!

In some areas, they do. Check bkdelivers.com to find out if you’re in one.

Today was spent shadowing experienced agents and listening to calls. We even got nearly all our needed logins today (we only lack the phone interface of the crucial stuff). And, the newbies have even started getting emails. I feel so official.

I predict that Sleeping Beauty will be the first to get ditched (we’re still in a 90-day probation period). Not only did she spend a lot of the “listen to calls” time sans headset, chatting with her buddies, but apparently dozed off. Our section of the call floor also hosts the operations manager over our project, as well as a VP of the company. SUCH a bad spot to be so blatant a goof-off.

Blurf

He had surgery in Feb… and May… And this one in Aug is to fix what the other two didn’t. Had the surgeon done a spinal fusion in the first place, we’d be long over this. But he tried to be more conservative in his approach. Unfortunately, my sweetie has had ongoing degenerative disk issues for years and conservative just don’t do it. Two weeks from today, he’ll *finally *get the fusion - here’s hoping that’s that, even tho I know it’s not the end of it. Chances are in a few more years, the disk above this repair will be trashed and we’ll go thru this again. He needs to find a surgeon who does disk replacement.

It was amazingly cool this morning - actually in the 60s when I let Higgs out!! It won’t last, tho. We’re promised a weekend nudging up against triple digits, likely going over the top. Dammit.

In other news, um, I got nothing. Altho it’s payday, so there’s that. I guess I can say Happy Thursday without snark.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out, partly cloudy and hyoooooooooooooooomid, with a predicted high of 93, partly cloudy, heat index near a hunnert, and maybe rain late this afternoon. I mentioned goin’ up to Cordele to the farmers market, but I may not. I may spend some quality time at the cee-mint pond instead. Who knew bein’ retired would mean havin’ to make so many hard decisions!

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, purty up and decision time awaits. Woe!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m off today.I’m having the washer/dryer looked at, so Gordie will be in Psycho Terrier Mode this afternoon.

Crap, I think I’ve caught a cough. Probably not surprising as my housemate has been coughing persistently and with abandon all over the house for the past six weeks. But I managed to avoid it up till now, so thought I was home free.

Happy Thorsday!

It is nice and cool outside, so I’ve opened the window and turned on the fan for a bit. Always nice to air out the house.
The coolness isn’t going to last though, as FCM said, we have some miserable days coming up.

Nothing special to do today.
Pay a few bills, as payday is tomorrow. Vacuum, unload the dishwasher. Clean the kitty litter. Usual bs that is done everyday.

Dear Thor: could you send a storm or two?

It’s too damn hot, and by the time I say it’s too damn hot, your standard human being is melting.

You say that like it is a bad thing.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Not really, but there is a heat warning out today and tomorrow and the weatherpeople and newscasters act like it never gets hot in Chicago. For Pete’s sake. News flash–it gets cold and snows a lot here in winter, so we don’t need to panic over that either.

Other than that, I got nuffin. I’d like to visit friends with cee-mint ponds…

Sari Has Percy come around?

Blurf. At irk. Tis rainy and in general not a good day. Gonna be a long one too…

Cordele probably has a huge farmers market I’d guess.

Butters Cordele has a nice sized farmers market but not as large as Thomasville. I have decided not to go today. Just don’t want to drive the looooooooooong approximately 68 mile round trip. So I am a bear of [del]sloth[/del] leisure instead.
