Warehouse 13 - Season 2

Did you almost lose your mind when Lindsay Wagner poked his sides and he giggled? The cuteness was damned near unbearable.

Did anyone else notice that when Lindsay Wagner answered her farnsworth, the ring tone was her old bionic jump sound effect?

I most certainly did. It was a nice touch!

Oh, gods, yes. He’s snuggly.

I find it somewhat disturbing that there’s far more love for Artie than Pete from the female side of the aisle.

(I presume that Claudia is the favored contender from the male side of the aisle, though?)

Nerd crush. What can I say.

I have the hots for all the cyberpunk and steampunk =)

As much as I like Claudia, I find Myka both hot and awkwardly endearing. Or endearingly awkward. Either way, Myka does it for me the most.

I’ve got a thing for Mrs. Fredricks.

Last night’s episode was awesome! Artie (with whom I’m madly in love) kicking insane Russian ass. H.G. getting reinstated. Claudia and Todd talking nerdy to each other. Artie’s past. There was a lot going on in this episode, but I think they did a good job tying up loose ends and setting up for the final story arc.

I like this season a lot. Last year it was very formulaic, but they’ve mixed it up a lot, and really effectively, this year.

Well now that H.G. has come over to the forces of good, she’s easily shot to the top of my list.

I’m not betting the farm on that as it stands. I’m expecting an interesting cliffhanger for this season involving HG; and more appearances from the head Regent dude.

My only criticism is that the gang seems to too easily overcome all obstacles. A little more suspense or even actually losing a case here and there would be welcome. I kind of get the vibe from later seasons of Stargate SG-1 when the Goa’uld became a pathetic caricature of their earlier ass kicking selves.

::shrugs:: While I don’t get the Artie love thing either, Eddie McClintock doesn’t do anything do anything for me though I like him better as Pete than as the temporary love interest on Bones. That’s Warehouse 13’s weakness - lack of cute guys. Oh well, at least there’s Haven on the same channel.
So, um…on a completely different topic does anyone else get the impression that Myka and Wells kind of dig each other?

You’re not the only one. I’ve seen comments on other boards…

Assuming she becomes a regular, the gender balance of the show has swung far to the female. Do you think there’ll be any injection of testosterone in the near future?

Well we’ve had Tia Carrera in two episodes and Paula Garcés in five. Claudia’s boyfriend seems like he’ll be back but not for a while. If they add another full-time character, it won’t be any of those. And for the immediate future, estrogen is the leader since Pete’s relation with Tia or Paula is only going to become deeper – giving that character more screen time.

Assuming that Warehouse 13 is starting to get the popularity of Eureka, we should expect that they can grow the cast out to be as big as Eureka’s – which generally centers on six characters, Carter, Allison, Zoe, Henry, Stark, and Jo. The Warehouse has now grown to Myka, Pete, Artie, Claudia, and HG – so we do have enough budget for one more character. And I think they’d rather get up to that level so I’m guessing that regardless of whether HG was originally supposed to be a bad guy or not, that they’ll make her a good guy just because they know the actress, know she can fill a TV screen, and the character has a lot of potential in her history.

Seeing as we have Artie-Claudia and Myka-Pete, it does seem like HG is going to need a partner of her own to go out [del]crime fighting[/del] artifact hunting with.

Overall, that’s two reasons to think that they will add another regular character, and a male would be the easy choice.

Mark Sheppard (Valda) would be a good choice to go out with HG, but Sheppard gets so much work as a guest-spot actor that I’m not sure he’d do it. If he does, though, I have a friend who’ll become a ravenous W13 viewer.

Are we supposed to be wondering if Tia Carerra is evil? I keep assuming she’ll betray them.

I haven’t gotten the impression that she’s evil. Though, at the same time, I haven’t gotten exactly what purpose she’s meant to serve. Some sort of love triangle between her, Pete, and Paula?

Er. Stark? Have you caught up with the show? What of Fargo and Zane? And if you’re going back to its earliest, there also used to be Taggart.

Yeah, but they haven’t really replaced his spot. They could re-introduce him as a regular member without displacing anyone.

They’re regulars, to be certain, but they don’t appear in every episode. Fargo, in the newest season may now be in every episode – possibly as the replacement for Stark – but he wasn’t in earlier seasons.
