Watcha Playing

With the regular Watcha Reading and new Watcha Listening To threads going strong over in Cafe Society, I thought I’d start something similar here in the game room. I don’t know if this should be a monthy thing or just an ongoing/occasional thing, but I’ll start it and see how it goes.

I’m playing Persona 3 FES on my Playstation 2. For those familiar with the game, I’m in mid September.

I’ve also just started Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on the DS.

Despite my answers, I see no reason to keep this confined to video games.

I always play a bit of World of Warcraft, although it’s mostly an animated chatroom these days.

Otherwise, on the computer:
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura. For the second time around.
Online scrabble (guiltily)

Tabletop:
My SO:s homemade science fiction RPG, based on the Shadowrun system and set in Peter F. Hamilton’s Night’s Dawn universe.

Debating with myself whether to get Age of Conan, but bugginess and D-cup avatars are putting me off.

Spring TA: Complete Annihilation.
I’m busy playing ChickenDefense, frequently with the wife, frequently not.
Can’t beat the queen chicken without cheating.
I even spawn 4 commanders at game start and still can’t beat her, although I think creative use of Fort Walls may let me win the next time I spawn 4 commanders.

I finished Hellgate: London a few weeks ago. I can’t recommend it. Put in Chrysis, but it did not catch me. Seemed complex when I just wanted action. I may try it again.

Am looking for something to kill time with, but haven’t found it yet.

I just finished up a multi-month project to replay all of the main series Final Fantasy games in order, though not back to back.

I think I’ll start on Mass Effect tonight.

I’m playing what I’m always playing, the most recent edition of Football Manager. 2008 in this case.

Man, do those games have me sucked in!

I started GTA IV again on the PS3. One of the few games I’ve completed.

Also playing Rock Band a good bit, drums mostly. I can sing some Ramones and Metallica, but the higher-pitched stuff wears out my voice quickly.

Played UT2004 on Sunday night with a friend, played a bunch of Assualt/Race maps. Overall I like UT2004 better than UT3, UT3 just didn’t bring much new to the table, and in fact left out some nice features like carrying the flag in vehicles (which can be fixed with a mutator.)

A pulse pounding new “reality game” called Family Finance.

You need 2 elderly parents, a dining room table, a random snarl of mutual fund statements and bank balances, one calculator, and one too few rollerball pens.

The catch is that the parents must transmit all information orally and receive it aurally, to allow for maximum misunderstandings, mathematical errors, and lost patience, and minimum getting-up-and-moving-around.

Nobody wins; you merely get through it.

With the announcement of Diablo 3, I got back into Diablo 2. That’s what I’ve been playing for the last couple of months. Still fun, even after 4 years of WoW!

Joe

Civilization Revolution. Still need Cultural and Domination victories at Deity level.

Oblivion on the PS3 has me sucked in big time. Just not enough hours in the day…

I’m currently playing Etrian Odyssey for the NDS. It’s a pure dungeon crawler with a battle engine similar to Dragon Quest, and objectively, I really shouldn’t like it. It’s repetitive with very little story and your characters are all created by you, which means no interaction. Perhaps I’m drawn to its fairly intense difficulty (and the customization of your characters to overcome it) and the fact that you have to draw your own maps on the touchscreen…

Seriously, some part of me now thinks I should have been a cartographer.

Finished playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on the GC about a week ago and wasn’t that impressed with it.

So I have gone back to playing Zelda: Wind Waker instead to see if I remember how to do it all and pick up all the secrets I missed the first tme around. It’s more fun than Z:TP.

I put WoW away when I got my 360 a couple of weeks ago. Right now I’m playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Jade Empire. I’m dabbling in Mass Effect and Fable.

However, Mommypants just recently got Civ Revolution, so I may never see my 360 again

I just started Lego Indiana Jones on my Wii and I’m cycling through a trio of Xbox Live Arcade games (N+, Bomberman Live and 1942 Joint Strike).

4th ed. D&D on the tabletop.

Civ 4:Warlords on the PC.

Still playing Medieval 2: Total War. My current aim is to conquer the entire map before the Mongols arrive, and I’m in turn 40-something and just pushing into russia (having conquered peninsular europe and the african coast already), so it’ll be close.

After that, I’m gonna try to pull off a win with the Byzantines with my only purchase of troops being foot archers (thankfully they have Trebizond archers and decent archer militia.)

I’m dabbling in Rock Band and playing through Mario Galaxy again as Luigi.

I’ve also played quite a bit of Hammer of the Scots lately and a bit of Battlelore. I was going to order Pandemic since I’ve got two people chomping at the bit to try it but word is that the reprint has been delayed again until October. :frowning:

I’ve been playing a lot of “The Movies” on PC as well as some FIFA 08 and Tomb Raider Anniversary. I’ve got NWN 2 installed awaiting the release of Mysteries of Westgate adventure mod and the expansion. and of course decimating planets on my multi-system galaxy epic map in Sins of a Solar Empire.

Same, except I’m playing on Xbox360. Managed to wear out the fire-spell button on one controller.
It lost a little of its allure when I discovered the scroll-dup bug, but not enough. I still think “just 5 more minutes” at 10:30, then look at time and it’s 1:00.
