Too late seeing your suggestion, **rosie ** Daughter decided she wanted corn. Yeah, I know, but we also have some leftover peas-n-carrots, so there’s that.
Oh, yeah, and I know what crudites are and I never considered it to be a hoity-toity term, altho I tend to say “Raw veggies” for simplicity’s sake.
**lieu **- you crack me up!
**rachellllll **- welcome. I don’t like beer. Kindly submit a proper chocolate love offering or I shall become vary cross, and you don’t want that. Trust me.
Home from irk. What a bizzy bizzy day! Trying to get some good work done in between meetings. I was stuck in another meeting all afternoon with about 25 other hapless victims - and the AC stopped working.
We needs our air conditionin’ down heah. We’re having a frickin’ drought, and it’s in the 90’s already! Sheesh!
Thanks. Just have a lot of pressure on me right now and feeling like I’m going to buckle. And I’m worried about my high school friends who’s been missing since 4/30. She dropped her kids off at home, drove off and hasn’t been seen since. I think you’ve seen my FB stuff on it. It’s so sad.
There’s “D” who was a server at a popular chain restaurant. They got caught in a sting and served alcohol to an underage “plant” - they’re lucky not to be in jail, from what I understand. As it is, they’re barred from working at any restaurant that serves alcohol for the next year, which really puts a bite into where they can work. Who doesn’t serve alcohol these days? I think even Denny’s has beer now. Last I heard, they’re looking at an abrupt career change.
Then there’s “B” who’s been working through years of pathological pack-ratting, and they’ve fairly quietly put out to a presumably trusted circle of friends that they’re now at the stage that they need a mass unload of their house, garage, sheds, etc. I don’t know when yet, but we’ll be heading to their place in the not distant future armed with gloves and dust masks. It’s definitely one of those “Them? A loony packrat with seven years of grocery coupons and cat filth?” cases.
Rounding out the perils is “G” who’s on a fixed retirement income and has so far spent just north of $4,000 that they really don’t have because their sewer got invaded by tree roots and had to be dug up and replaced. The first plumber did a bad job and “G” had to sue them via the city to at least recover a couple hundred to go to whoever it was that finished the job.
Every few months Hubby decides he has to have Sauerbraten. His mom used to make it, but she doesn’t cook any more. Her caregiver tried to make it from mom’s recipe, but it wasn’t the same. Mom didn’t have it written down, so she thinks she’s forgotten something.
I DON’T want to learn to make it. It sounds complicated and a little icky.
I’ve called every German restaurant in Seattle. Sigh. I guess I’ll have to find something to take his mind off it.
Checking in, I am with Taters wrt the rain. I see the dentist tomorrow, yee and haw. I want to get roses planted tomorrow in the afternoon, and the forecast said partly sunny so we’ll see.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 67 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 96! That’s actually a little warmer than usual for May. That’s a summer-like temp. Factor in humidity and it will feel over a hunnert this afternoon.
Soapy I hope your friend is found safe and alive soon.
<snerk> IN BED! <snerk> The kinkiest fortune I’ve seen in a while doggio!
gotti hope things get all sorted out with your friends. “D” and “G” seem to be in especially sucky situations.
Time for more caffiene and feedin’ of rumbly tummy followed by irk purtification. Today there is a “Health Fair” at the civic center. I shall be there mannin’ the laminatin’ machine and other stuff for four hours. At least it includes N.O.L..

Actually, I think it’s B who’s worse. They’re the one “living” in waist-high debris and cat puke. Probably a few nests of critters under all that stuff as well. G just needs cash to fix the situation, and D can either wait out the serving exile or do something else. They’re reasonably young so a career change is not as traumatic as if they’d been waiting tables all their life and knew absolutely nothing else.
I have caffeinated and brekkied (on frosted mini-wheats!) so all is good for me, so far, other than that I am running a bit later than usual. Today I may get the bus driver who won’t lower the bus unless I ask for it to be lowered (always with a please and thank you, mind you!). I just don’t understand why someone would take a job working with the public, then proceed to treat the public like crap. Now I do understand that there are plenty of crazy people out there in the public who are much worse, but that comes with the territory. I couldn’t do it, I know that much.
Rosie’s .sig to any and all - hope you have a good day today and don’t get any crazy bus drivers!
