We interrupt your regularly scheduled MMP to bring you this Early TV Mockumentary

towels in the dryer, afghans in the washer, critters fed, and **FCD ** on his way home.

Thus ends my day. Not sure what we’ll do for supper. I had leftover sketty sauce on macaroni, and I’m still stuffed. Plus I ate late. So we shall see.

I’ve got 2 quarts of strawberried and some french vanilla ice cream - that’s a healthy supper, right? Dairy and fruit??

My physical therapist is a young lady I’ve nicknamed Dr. Mengele.

Other than that she seems to enjoy causing me pain, she’s pretty nice.

I’m gonna sit on the couch and read. Because I haven’t done enough of THAT lately.

Executive decision made - Famous Dave’s BBQ for supper. As soon as **FCD ** gets dressed.

Yay

Hi all. I’m still smoke free, btw–nearly at the 2 week mark, so yay for that. I have had some … shall we say irritable spells, though, so the quit smoking drug is not all hearts and flowers, apparently. :stuck_out_tongue: Still, it’s better than continuing to smoke.

I’m sorry that I missed the pics of (G)Nat, he is a cutie pie, LiLi, and no he doesn’t look too much like a vampire in that one pic … although there was an earlier pic where it looked like he was wearing Dracula’s cape.

Well, I have made the rounds of the grocery stores in our area. LOL I’ve been to: Whole Foods (yeah, aka Whole Paycheck … ouch!), Giant, Safeway, and tomorrow I’ll finish up at Shoppers Food Warehouse. Fortunately, we don’t need much if any meats; just some household goods, veggies and fruits, and a few staples. So it’s all been good. I hope to get to a local farmer’s market tomorrow, but that will depend on the weather.

Beautiful day out today. Glad to hear that the Tigs (both Mama and Papa!) are having such a good time in Idaho; nice that the weather is cooperating too. Can’t wait to hear all about it, either, especially with pics. waves to SnowBunny

I’m going to go get ready to watch the Preakness, praying that all will go well especially for the horses. And of course hoping for … well, you know, I don’t want to put a jinx on anything!!!

Huh, it turned out to be a sunny day after all. Go figure.

I started feeling moderately more human-like after some lunch, so The Boy and I ventured forth to get supplies for tomorrow’s mini dinner party. We’ve decided on tea smoked chicken legs with a cucumber salad and brown rice, and then some homemade honey and apple ice cream with caramelised walnuts for dessert. We splurged on the good chicken (naturally raised and antibiotic-free) from the local hippie mart, as well as a very expensive bottle of thyme honey.

Of course, now I have a strange craving for gingerbread with cream cheese icing. I wonder why? glares in LiLi’s general direction

Congrats on the refund, FCM. It’s nice to see that some companies still have a solid grasp on good customer service and handling complaints effectively.

And yay for being 2 weeks smoke-free** tarra**! Go you!

Back from Famous Dave’s, stuffed. I got the Sassy BBQ salad with brisket. They put a lot of non-salad stuff in the salad, plus they drench it with their house dressing. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I don’t think I’ll be having it again.

Congrats, tarra!! Way to go!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

I can’t remember what else I wanted to say, so I guess this is it for this post.

MWAH!!

Hi all! Just got home from work. Read all the posts but I’m tired and don’t have much to respond with.

I have an invitation to go over to a friend’s house and play cards and/or hang out and/or have sex but I’m feeling blah and tired.

Ugh tired.

I bought flour. I haven’t baked with it, but now we have flour. Whew.
Someone reassure me that making my baby learn to go to sleep on his own isn’t cruel, and that the alternative (going to bed with the kidlet at seven-thirty or eight) is totally, utterly ridiculous? He’s been crying on and off for forty minutes. I feel all guilty.
I am definitely making gingerbread tomorrow.

**LiLi ** - the kid needs to learn to sleep on his own. It’s no more cruel than knowing he’ll fall as he’s learning to walk. It’s life. And it’s one of the first steps he’ll make towards independence. Trust me - you want an independent son. You don’t want a 30-something offspring still living with you, wanting you to comfort him to sleep.

So knock off the guilt, there, missy!

Do NOT feel guilty. He needs to learn how to do this. He is NOT too young to learn this. Family services will NOT come after you if you teach him this. They may come after you in later years for not teaching him this (ie indulging him and not allowing him to learn).

But it is hell to listen to–I feel for you.
I am back from firing off Daughter to prom. 3 stretch limos to ferry 18 kids to the Field museum for the festivus. She looked gorgeous–but she has the digital camera, so no pics as of yet. Joe, her date, seems like a nice young man. Dweeby sideburns, though–are those back in? Gah…
#1 son is out with friends; #2 son is at a birthday party, having won the soccer game this morning. (well, he didn’t win it, but he played and his team won).
I have not felt well all day-- no idea what is wrong. I feel feverish, but have no fever; exhausted but cannot nap. Right now my face feels like it’s on fire.
Off to do not much at all. I’m good at that.

And YAY on the no smoking! You go! Every day you go without, is another day that nicotine washes out of your system and your craving abates a smidge. You can do it!

Yay on the no smoking!!!

Mumpers I need your help. I’m looking for summer songs for a new itunes playlist and have money burning in my account. I’m into just about every kind of music, so anything works for me!

I am really liking Johnny Cash’s “Big River” right now. Not specifically summery, but still good.
No idea. If I was good at making playlists, I’d have more than 60 minutes worth of music on my Nano.
I am restless, bored and tired. Not good. It’s raining outside now. Poo. I think I’m going to cancel the moonwalk for the party tomorrow and just take the kids to see Prince Caspian–there’s only 4 kids for the party, total. (traveling baseball is hell this time of year). What say you?

When I was a wee bairn, I lived essentially across the street from the West Palm Beach Publix. The street being US 1.
I was about 3 and I remember one occassion when we were loading the car with purchased groceries with the help of one of the nice employees and as he walkled back to the store I shouted to him what I assumed was a friendly farewell because I had heard it so many times. “Have a nice weekend” I shouted. Mom told me it was Monday. so “Have a nice week beginning!” I corrected myself. That must have made his day because he came back out with a lollipop for me.

Speaking of wee bairns - baby Abigail Valentine has joined the world at noon EDST today, weighing in at just shy of 9 lbs, and a little over 16 inches long. I have already left a message for my nephew demanding photos.

Just back from the Bugtussel ER, as a patient. I have a raging case of pinkeye.

Dammit, I’m not in grade school anymore.

McUne, try The Cat Empire. They’re my new favourite band - their sound is a little hard to pin down, but it has a definite ska influence (which makes it perfect summer music in my books). I’m also really enjoying the new Feist album.

The ice cream approacheth. The Boy has made the sauteed apples and is now working on the custard. Once the custard thickens up and cools down a bit we’ll be ready to pop it in the Donvier to firm up. Nom nom nom.

Cancelled the moonwalk and reserved 6 tickets for Prince Caspian tomorrow. It’s still raining here, so just as well…

And btw of nothing, I used to love going to the Publix when we lived in Florida. I loved the outside of the building with its swoopy white facade. Here’s the closest thing I could get to it:

Publix, as I remember it
Off to bed soon.

Sucks about the pink eye. Blame the cats, so you can get rid of them, pronto.

Home. I worked all day, so no kitten, no camera. I could use a bit of a pick me up right about now.

I think I’ve found someone to take over the lease. OMG please let this work

Mr Cheerio and I had a hilarious time in the 'burbs today - marveling at strip malls, eating at Bennigan’s, watching a bad movie (The Forbidden Kingdom). And the weather was fine for most of the day. Tomorrow I will be productive. I might even go to Mass.

rigs, boys in high school always have sideburns because it makes them feel manly when they can’t grow big boy facial hair. Just ask my high school self.

I just got back from a hot date with this man I’ve been talking to for a while. Our first date was driving around town with our fancy Sonic drinks, and our second was of course having sex. So tonight we played dominoes. I was tired and he was tired and I’ve been sick, and didn’t feel like having my prostate, erm, examined would solve anything. But then I got a kiss when he drove me home.

I think next Hot Date Night will be Monopoly.

Back to work. Blurgh!!!
:vroommmmmm:
