I don’t remember- I do know it said they didn’t have my bank info.
Well, I’m stumped. I get SS, don’t file, so they tell me not to bother. I know for dead sure they got my bank info. I go ahead anyway, just to see if there is a problem I don’t know about. Double checked my address info (its “trlr” for double wide estates), tried my SS number with and without dashes. Nothing. No recourse offered, no place to go but sit and stare.
“Why me, Lord?”
“Because you piss Me off…”
Someone posted this earlier
Well, would that mean that everybody who gets regular SSA payment direct, they are in the same boat? Didn’t get that impression from reading this thread, because that would be a hell of a lot of people.
I just get the error message.
Yes. The numbers I have read are that 80 million stimulus payments have been sent out so far–out of 150 million total who will qualify for a payment.
Thanks - I’ll try again tomorrow.
Good news. The stimulus posted this morning. Yesterday we called our credit union to inquire as to whether they have been receiving any stimulus payments at all and they confirmed that they were “coming in waves.” They also said that we shouldn’t worry if it hasn’t hit our account yet because it should hit soon. Next day, bam!
Hope you all get yours soon too!
Many thanks for all the info here. I checked today, and the site said I was eligible, but the IRS needed my bank info. I thought this was odd because they just withdrew the amount I owed from my checking account a few weeks ago.
I get SS payment, but did not receive that message. I was able to successfully enter my bank info, etc. Still no deposit, though.
Same here with the message and we’ve been here for 21 years.
I’ve been wondering the same, and haven’t been able to find any information about it. We filed through Turbo Tax for 2018, but we sent our payment directly from our bank account.
Just FYI:
From CNN:
I entered my bank information, double-checked the next day to make sure it said they had my bank information (it did), and…now it says I’m getting a check in the mail. Great.
Exactly this happened to me as well. Expecting to have the check banked in about 10 days. At least it’s not late May or June. It will be interesting (Chinese proverb interesting) to see where we as a planet are in late May and June. It’s hard not to become anxious if I let myself think about it for too long.
I guess I’m not getting a stimulus check. The system can’t determine my eligibility and my checking account balance is still where it was last week.
I don’t know what the problem is. I’m tired of thinking about it, that’s for damn sure.
Ditto.
For a week, I’ve logged in and been told, “you are eligible for the payment, we will give you your due date when it has been determined.” So I guess maybe 3-4 more weeks.
Updated my bank information last week (Wednesday?). Two days later, irs website told me I was eligible for payment. The next day, I got a date when the check would be mailed out (tomorrow the 24th). This past Monday, received the check in the mail. Okayfine. I’m unsurprised at the dysfunction displayed by a system cobbled together in such haste, one that’s meant to serve potentially hundreds of millions of people quickly. I am surprised that I was taken care of so rapidly, and I’m rooting for those of you still left waiting at the mailbox or your bank’s website.
A close friend of mine just called to tell me that he had been getting the same message, but that yesterday he logged in and got a message that the IRS had determined that he was eligible, and he was finally able to input his bank info. So keep checking.
ETA: I just did it and was also finally able to input my banking information, too.
