Wedding Planning Help!

Suggestion on the RSVPs–make an alphabetized list of your invitees and write a number by each person or family you’re inviting. Put those numbers on the backs of the RSVP cards before assembling the invitations. If someone sends you an RSVP card with no name (it happens), you can know who it was that replied to you.

This system also easily lets you find out which invitees haven’t replied by the RSVP date, which can be a lifesaver, especially if you’ve got a long list of invitees. You can line up the RSVPs by number and see which numbers are missing. Missing numbers match people on the list. It’s easy to spot a missing number, but it’s not as easy to spot a missing name, even if you have everything well-organized.

Rocky Neck State Park has this immense rentable pavillion, the topmost floor is set up as a banquet facility for weddings and meetings. Fantastic place. There is also a very nice beach by the pavillion, and a campground for people who want to camp though there are motels nearby for those who are not into camping. I can really recommend it as a fantastic wedding site.

what she said =)

My friend Tara was making a veil, using the fake pearls bonded to a string that she was going to glue around the edge … I sort of confiscated it and used real seed pearls that I got from CNE that I restrung so I would only be dealing with a single strand. The veil was already hemmed, so all I needed to do was whip the strand of seed pearls in place [I used the basic mylar metallic gold thread - not the sturdiest option but very pretty when finished] and used the basic white satin covered headband [adult type, no bow] that I hand covered with a matching trim and set with seed pearls as the headband to fix the veil to.

The veil then matched the pearlwork I did on the lace appliques used on the dress. She bought a great plain dress, and lace appliques to dress it up. I pearled the appliques before we handed it over to the dressmaker for alterations and embellishments. made the dress and veil more affordable and personal.

Hmm… I’m not really sure. I don’t remember seeing much outdoor space, but it was December so other than a couple outdoor pictures with a little snow on the ground, we didn’t spend much time outside!

But there certainly are parks in the area if you’re interested in Lenox. It’s a beautiful town, as is Stockbridge, which is just down the road maybe 10 miles. Lots for guests to do in the area, like the Norman Rockwell Museum, Tanglewood(in the summer), Mass MoCA, Jacob’s Pillow, just driving around in the Berkshires, etc.
