I’m on your side here. Incredibly fun to watch!
After the pentultimate episode, I am still loving this season and not wanting it to end. I like how there seems to be more of a division between the “serious” storyline involving Nancy and the comic relief antics of Doug, Celia et al.
The scene with Nancy and Andy arguing was so well played, really shows how they both care for each other and understand each other better than either of them understand themselves. And Cesar continues to be full of surprises…here I had him pegged for the Waylon Smithers of the Mexican Mafia and it turns out he’s a family man.
And my wish for Shane to have more to do was certainly answered in spades! I thought that whole scene was great, both the brotherly bonding between him and Silas – and then the knife comes out!!
I have no idea where this is going to end. One small but crucial detail my wife noticed…when we see Esteban on TV at the end, apparently having been drawn back into Pilar’s clutches, he is still wearing his wedding ring, suggesting that maybe Pilar has been persuaded to accept Nancy’s presence on the scene. So where does that leave Nancy’s plotting with Guillermo?
Based on the teaser scenes for next week, I’m still betting that Audra is going to be killed.
One more hit for this season, then the long dry spell begins…
Excellent point. So maybe Pilar will decide she can live with Nancy, then finds out that she put out a contract on her? It seems that what you suggest would be the smart thing for Guillermo to do, but men seem to have a long track record of not doing the smart thing vis-a-vis Ms. Botwin.
Holy fuck. I expected Audra to get it, but not Pilar, and not by Shane’s hand.
This show is crazy.
Great great great great episode. Celia with her team. Andy the coward in love. Some actual compassion from Nancy & Silas. Shane. SHANE!!
I’m loving this season. I know it was tough to figure where the heck they were going to begin with, but it went someplace awesome.
Well, I didn’t see that coming!
Though in retrospect I don’t know why… Remember back in the series premiere when Shane jumped out of the tree and sprayed that kid with the paint gun? All foreshadowing…
Awesome episode, looking forward to next season.
Thoughts: Why did Guillermo sell out Nancy? Granted, not having the cojones of a fourteen year old, he might have been reluctant to try to take out Pilar; but since Cesar was able to get him out of prison pretty quickly once he put his mind to it, and Cesar works for Pilar, it follows that the only reason he was sitting in prison all those months is that Pilar didn’t care enough to spring him; so why the loyalty?
Andy: Coward or just doing the only reasonable thing under the circumstances and assuming that Audra would be right behind him?
I suppose it’s too much to hope that we will get some coherent explanation of how Shane came to be hiding in those particular bushes with a croquet mallet at that particular time? Yeah, I thought so…
I am going to reverse my judgment of a few weeks ago and say that I am not enthusiastic about the “Celia’s gang” storyline. All these characters are too well established as losers (except Isabella) and this is clearly destined to fall apart by episode three of next season. I think the supporting cast needs to be more closely integrated into the Nancy storyline, or else go the way of Conrad and Halia (who I still hope for the eventual return of!).
Well, only nine months until we find out how Nancy will handle this situation…I’m off to write “Shane Botwin” on my abdomen in magic marker!
Pretty awesome. Despite the naysayers, I think this season continued to entertain, if perhaps not quite so riotously as the first two or three.
Pilar’s influence doesn’t extend to the American prison system which is where Guillermo was being held. Once he gets transferred to Mexico he’s out the same day. As for why they didn’t get him transferred earlier, who knows? He looked pretty comfortable in jail.
Excellent season finale!
And wow, just like Pilar, I didn’t see that coming!
Once again, many out-loud laughs, and the series continues to take amazing twists and turns - can’t wait for the next season!
How does Cesar get him transferred while Pilar can’t? Seem like a pretty big plot hole.
They had no incentive to get him transferred. He got caught and almost exposed the operation. Why would they be in a hurry to get him back? It’s the price he has to pay to play the game.
Great ending to the season. Perfect. I didn’t really see it coming, but it made perfect sense.
As usual for this show, there’s no point in wasting time wondering “how are they going to get out of this one?” because of course it will be quite simple, whatever it is.
