So. I have Mac OS-X 10.4.9 on a Mini. I use the native Macintosh mail program. I have the columns of info to include Date received. The software also shows time incoming.
For the last few days, my outgoing emails come back to me in CC form- and land in the email list an hour earlier. The timestamp is one hour before I sent it. Impossible, I say !
Incoming mail from the world is marked accurately. Outgoing is marked WITHIN THE BODY of the email properly, to the second. But the time stamp given by the email software is an hour off.
The clock on my Mac OS is set properly to EST.
Weird. Thoughts?

There’s your problem. It’s still Daylight Saving Time.
My guess is that it has something to do with the fooling around with the changes in Daylight Savings Time over the past couple of years. In looking at the Apple support page, I see that the latest operating system patch contains fixes for daylight savings time in 2006 and 2007. So if you haven’t updated your computer lately, that could be the answer.
Lemme try that.
My Mac is showing appropriate time, though…
My Mac (OS 10.4.10) has never had a problem with Daylight-Saving-Time issues.
(Of course I may have to amend that statement next week.)
That’s because you Mac updates it clock everytime you log onto the internet, while your mail doesn’t (I’m guessing)
So when does DST end in the Eastern time zone?
