Well, it's .. sorry, what year is it? MMP

We’ll replace the treadmill, but first we need to get some of the office furniture from retirement out of the house. Junkluggers is giving an estimate later this month and will haul out a heavy sleeper sofa, a piano, the treadmill, a desk, and maybe some dilapidated bookcases, and a recliner. That will make some room.

Yes, the suggestions are great. She has gradually lost foods over the last number of years.

Late to the party. Let’s see…

My jaw still hurts, and my lip and chin are still numb. My lip ‘feels’ numb, rather that not feling anything before. I still can’t feel myself touching it or my chin, but I can feel ‘numbness’ when I do.

I ordered couplers to build a PVC frame for the face cord cover my wife got me for Christmas. I’ll go to the hardware store in Bellingham when they arrive, so that I can get the pipes.

Speaking of the hardware store, an assistant manager or owner (conflicting reports on the news) embezzled $1.4 million from it since at least 2017.

I had that goulash I made for dinner last night. I thought I’d finish it up for breakfast, but there’s still more left. I wrapped some of it in a low-carb tortilla with an over-easy egg. It was messy, but tasty.

Sunny is one of my FB friends and I just checked - she hasn’t posted since September. Nor has her husband…

And last sighting of her here was 18 December, last posted 1 December. I’m now worried about her, especially since she’s fairly close to my area and is facing the same storm issues I am.

The governor has just declared a state of emergency here in California.

Looking at longer-range weather forecasts, today and tomorrow look bad, Friday’s a breather, then yet more storm activity over the weekend.

I know we need rain, but do we really need months or years worth within the first couple of weeks of the year?

FCM, I private messaged my home and cell phone numbers to you on Facebook. Seemed like someone should have that info.

Stay safe!

I saw a post from sunny on another board on 20 Dec. Maybe she got busy with the holidays. I hope all is well with her too.

Thank you all for the good wishes, VBC is much improved today. I think she was just having an off day and wanted to be left alone. I bought them some new hairball treats and VBC ate hers and then took GG’s away from him because he has to play with any new food we give him. VBC was going to get two anyhow, so I gave GG another one, which he promptly ate.

VBC spends hours a day grooming GG, it wouldn’t surprise me if she had a 5 lb. hairball.

Today was produce day and the volunteers decided that the LWT should get twice as much as me, which is very fair because her family is bigger than mine. The problem is that they always give us a ton of food already, the extra boxes made it hard for them to close my trunk.

We got pears today. When Mom was growing up, she spent a couple of summers picking pears and just hated that job because pears were so fussy and ended up hating pears as well. Mom tried to feed us a variety of fruits and vegetables, but we never had pears because they were horrible. I was in my mid 40’s before I actually tried pears only to learn that they are pretty good. I never got into the habit of thinking about pears as something I would like to eat, so getting pears is always a nice surprise.

I reminded her about green ketchup

I’m glad you are feeling better. Being super tired is fairly common but it sounds like you are on the mend. Dang about the breakup. Fur therapy is always helpful.

Isn’t being a retired drain on society the best thing ever!

Are petting zoos even a thing anymore? Giving young children a bag of grain and sending them into an enclosure with a bunch of greedy critters doesn’t sound like something people do anymore. My baby sister got bit by a wallaby at one, but that was before everyone sued for everything so sis just got a bandaid and scolded because she must have done something to provoke it.

That was my thought, but it has been quite a while. I hope things are going well, and she is just having issues with getting her interwebs set up.

What light sources do you have? Cooking by flashlight gets real old really fast.

Stay safe and warm and dry!

Sari, my Mauser will think about your Ripple and have a treat in his honor. I really hope all goes well with the surgery on the 13th.

Many years ago I was in a petting zoo and a little girl was holding a bag of popcorn. A goat comes up to her and she reaches out to pet it. The goat sinks its teeth into the bottom of the bag and rips it open, the proceeds to eat the spilled popcorn, leaving the little girl to bawl her eyes out.

Abundant flashlights, both recently acquired emergency radios have lights, two cell phones (and yes, I know that’ll whomp my battery hard), two good-size lanterns that are in dire need of batteries (may Lyft over to a hardware store soon), my USB-rechargeable desk lamp that is on a magnetic mount (so can easily be moved around as needed). I do not consider candles safe around the pets.

Howdy Y’all! We waited until late mornin’ to go procure provisions and get nummy fried chikin for N.O.L. That got done, provisions stored, chikin et, and nappage achieved. Quite the day for us! The rain/tstorms/apocalypse have left the area and now ‘tis partly N.O.S. out. Speakin’ of which, hope she checks in soonest.

Nettie you sound well prepared. May it be an over prepared situation. Still it’s good you have stuff in place. Stay safe, and may the storm be less than predicted.

Pulley feel better soonest. Glad your daughter broke up with the d-bag. Pets are good therapy. Hope she feels better about all this soonest.

JtC glad VBC is feelin’ better.

Cookie ain’t it fun to look at sump’n like that and think “better thee than me!”

Taters hope you get answers about Polar soonest.

sari ouchie on the roof estimate! Hope the vet can figure out why Cerby limps soonest.

Lily have fun with the junk clear out. I’m thinkin’ we need to do another one of those this Spring.

Nellie hope the shots are not too ouchie.

Godbod happy first day back at skool.

Morgyn glad you didn’t crunch your glasses.

MetalMouse FWIW I like Diet Poopsie the best.

Nettie, sounds like you are prepared and the other MMP’ers are much more knowledgeable than I, so I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that you make it through the deluge unscathed.

JtC, glad VBC is doing better. I know the Nashville Zoo had a petting area when I was last there several years ago, but I do not know how common they are today.

Sari, roofs are costly; hope it works out (hope everything works out).

nellie, all that walking and you still want to go to the gym? Wonder Woman is among us!!

suzie, sounds like you won’t need the gym, plenty of exercise right at home.

Cookie, very little snow in North Ali-Bama, but I can remember trying to get my car out of a snowbank on Northern Ohio many years ago.

Boo fae, I can drink Coke too, but just prefer Pepsi. Never have tried the store brands, maybe I need to look at that.

So the last regular Pepsi not in the refrigerator has been donated to the local food bank, I still do not have any Argentine pesos (my bank says they know the exchange rate but their systems won’t allow them to sell any–weird), and my teeth have been scraped, polished, flossed and examined and I don’t have to go through that for another 6 months. The airline I’m flying in Argentina changed one of my reservations, but this was good news as the time is almost the same and it is flying out of the airport I will be close to instead of the domestic airport 20 miles away. To celebrate I went to Eggs Up about 1pm for a burger and fries, so home now digesting and will consider a post-5pm swimming-n-sauna at the gym, since I ate so late.

Swampy, kind of surprised me, I made a poll in the thread dedicated to it and they voted for Pepsi Zero, but it was third in my ratings last night. If that stays constant, it’ll at least be easier to find 12-packs that way. Test #2 will be tonight.

OK, need to get those Sudoku’s and Jumbles done. All y’all take care.

Cloudy, rainy, depressing day here. But it’s been above freezing for the past few days, very welcome after the stretch of below 0 crap we had earlier. Made some bread, house smells good. Got left-over pea soup from another cooking endeavor about a month ago, vacuum sealed at the time and now thawed for consumption. Nothing better than a hot bowl of soup and fresh bread to ease the soul on a crappy day.

Back from Lyfting over to the battery store for some lantern batteries. Also hit a nearby sporting goods place (different chain than yesterday), got more of the chemical hand/birdie warmers and a water filtration gadget that looked like a probable good thing to have around. Eating lunch (leftover scrambled eggs with cheese), got a phone call around 3:30 relating to a recent job application I put in.

Allie was having a serious case of the grouchies when I got home. Buddy didn’t seem to be bugging her. She’ll just have to sort it out herself, I guess. All the laundry and dishes (except for what’s in current use) are put away. The new vacuum is here (ordering more filters is on the to-do list), but I’m not sure I’ve got the oomph to actually vacuum today. Slept quite poorly last night. At this point, I hope I’m fully ready for this, since I only have 2-3 hours before the next wave of storm rolls in. NOAA thinks we’ll even have thunderstorms tonight. Yay.

FIL is settled back in the apartment. MIL is in denial - she’s talking about plans for his next birthday - in March. FCD says his dad is wasting away - he has rare occasional flashes of recognition.

I just packed a bag for him - hope I remembered everything - not that it’d be a huge deal. So it’ll just be me and the critters for a while.

From your fingers to God’s eyes

Here’s hoping that the storms aren’t as bad as expected!

I am so sorry for FCD.

Howdy Y’all! The sun decided to show up, so we celebrated with martinis on the back porch. We have become expert day drinkers. That would be cause for worry if’n we were stilled upright, employed contributers to society. However, we are retired, debauched (he, we earned that!), drains on society and so can perfect our day drinkin’ skills with impunity.

MOOOOOOM MIL is goin’ to have hope right up until FIL goes. Let’s just hope it’s peaceful. FCD is bein’ the good son to stay there and do what he can.

Nettie look at it this way. The world may be possibly comin’ to an end, so who has time to vacuum. OK, maybe not, but that’s what I would think. Inside my haid is a strange and scary place.

I wish you all peace and strength. This is truly the darkest most difficult of times.

Sounds like the inside of my head at times.

Wind seems to be picking up and clouds are getting darker. I’ll be a lot happier when DH is safely home, but that’s over an hour from now (he gets off work at 3:30, tends to take about 45 minutes to get home, depending on traffic which is likely to be worse than usual today.

I usually buy one ticket but multiple days. That way I don’t have to worry about forgetting AND I get to build really good daydreams for days.

Odds of my winning are as miniscule as they are for everyone, but someone is going to win sooner or later.
