We're early, we're early and it ain't so important... a pointless MMP

VBob, that is stupid and sad. Poor puppy. :frowning: I will scritch some pups today and think of her when I do it. And I will imagine taking a 2-by-4 to the heads of the humans. Idiots.

More snow this morning. Only an inch or so, but still, WTF April?

Back from my weekend of travel and funeral. It all went well, thankfully the weather was good for travel since not only was I traveling halfway across the country, but her grandkids were coming in from Michigan, North Carolina, and Maryland, and her son, who lives in the DC area, was in Wisc and had to get home first and then drive up to Upstate NY. So we were all glad for good weather. The funeral was decent, but unfortunately, the minister who was at the church when she was there has moved on and the current minister didn’t know her at all so was just reading from notes the family and friends had given him. Which is fine, but a former minister was there and a few of us quietly said to each other “I really wish he’d done the service!” So it was a long, tiring, emotional weekend, but I’m glad I went.

I did get good news this morning, though. Some friends had their baby over the weekend (not the friends who are expecting triplets). I don’t know the details, but it sounds like it was an emergency c-section since they wouldn’t schedule a c-section for 11pm on a Saturday, especially the Saturday before Easter. Hopefully I’ll find out what happened soon. But in any case, mother and baby (who remains nameless at this point) are doing well. Baby boy was 5 lbs. - 9 oz. and 18.25" long. Both parents are small so the 5 1/2 lbs isn’t too surprising. And I just finished up the baby blanket for them on the flight back yesterday so I’ve got some pretty good timing!

I haven’t caught up on last week’s MMP so I don’t know the full details on why we’re giving Herbs hugs, but regardless, {{{Herbs}}}.

Poor puppy, VBob. Hope they have better sense next time.

That’s so sad, Bobbio. Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have pets.

Snowbunny - you like snow, remember?

If they’re getting the new one from the same place, likely it will also be a mastiff, or at least a big dog :frowning: Some dogs, like some children, don’t deserve the lousy parents they get saddled with.
{{{{Herbs}}}}
We just had Yet Another Fire Alarm. They’re so frequent nobody takes them seriously any more. Turned out this one was a drill and nobody got fined for taking too long; the only time anybody took too long, it was guests staying in the part of the building that serves as a hotel of sorts. One woman came out with her suitcase all packed up, every hair in place, completely made up, when the wardens were already finishing the “the three of you are all d… make that the FOUR of you are all dead” speech.
I’m out of here on Thursday. No more fire alarms, yay!

I figured, but one can hope. Why can’t they just volunteer at a dog rescue or something instead of getting a dog that they don’t pay attention to half the time?

Morning everyone!

We were out late last night seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestras “Beethoven’s Last Night” show and I highly recommend it to anyone who can get to one. It’s different from the Christmas tour with having both “coasts” on stage together at the same time and mostly smaller venues like their first Christmas tour. Think of it more like an old Savatage tour -------- with a real budget and modern tech.

BBBobbio that makes me all  Poor doggy!

I have yahd mowed etc, bought and replaced an air filter for OYKW’s mower (I’m so nice!), been to the sto’ and stopped at the [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place and et some lunch. A lot of lunch. Too much lunch. Shouldn’t oughten done that!

This means I deserve a nappy poo because I have been productive and nice.

That is so sad, Bobbio.

Glad the boyfriend is finally home, Haze.

Continued hugs to you and your sweetie, Herbs.

This cold is kicking my ass. Actually, I think it’s more than a cold; I think there’s a little flu mixed up in there as well. I feel like utter crap, worse than yesterday. I was going to go into work, but felt it would be bad to spreading these germs. Also, it’s hard to work when you feel like crap.

The sun is out at the moment. I have no idea what the weather is supposed to be like for the coming week, much less the rest of today.

Easter dinner at MiL’s was nice.

Mmm, guess that’s all I’ve got.

But it’s April. In theory it’s spring. Though snow is part of spring up here…sigh It’s not that I don’t like it. But I’m ready for a change. The sun is trying to come out and the snow is sliding off my car so at least it’s not really cold, because I have a few errands I have to run today and I’d rather not be sliding around on ice to get them done. In December, it’s fun. By April, I’ve had enough.

I’m not gonna gloat, but it will be 90 Amurrkin in Cottonfield County tomorrow.
On second thought, maybe I will.

Skimmed because I had to respond to the Stella story:
VBob - maybe someone should tell the puppy mill about the family’s inability to properly care for a dog, perhaps tell them “no young dogs, only neutered adults”?

Grrr that just makes me mad about poor Stella…poor puppy!

Glad IB made it home Haze!

I missed out on most of last weeks MMP - I was at the US embassy in London and then my parents internet crapped out on Friday so I was out of touch all weekend. It was kinda nice! Hugs for Herbs and did I see pugs got a new job also - Congrats!

Anyways…I have been granted another US visa - whoohoo! Which means I am another step closer to being back with the hubby. Very happy about it! :D:D:D:D

Back to irk tomorrow after a nice long weekend!

Yay for the Visa mmmmmmmmms!

Dindin tonight is ham, lima beans and carrots. That will also probably be dindin tomorrow night as well as I planned for leftovers. I pulled some chicken thighs out of the freezer so maybe Death Chicken one night. The supper fairy may show up with takeout a night or two this week.

Feel better taters! Have some chicken soup. And ice cream. Both are medicinal.

Yay mmmmmmmms!

I sooooooooo don’t feel like doing work. Blah.

Happy Monday!

Taters, I didn’t want to comment in the last MMP, but did you know as a Fed employee, you can get a discount for your AT&T service? Unless your ridiculously high bill includes the discount, in which case, ignore me.

**BBBobbio - people that stupid shouldn’t be allowed to have pets. eeeesh!

{{tarra}} - best to you and your sweetie!

Still don’t know who I’m working for or in which group. After the mucky-mucks did their review, Personnel decided they needed to review it, too. So maybe tomorrow I’ll learn something. Except I’ll be in training for 6 hours - what a pain in the patoot!

Daughter and SIL have a friend visiting for the week. She is exactly as SIL would be if he was a woman. It’s scary. And annoying. And such a charming guest: “I don’t usually like pork chops, but I ate yours.” Gee, how about a simple “Thanks for dinner”?? She’ll be leaving on Sat…

We’re looking at bringing the inlaws up here on the auto train. They really don’t need to be driving I-95 all the way from FL, and we can afford to buy them tickets, and they’re letting us. So they just need to give us the dates.

Loverly weather here, but I’m glad I was in work. I needed the rest… Supper is done, dishes are done, and I need to get out there and vacuum my car. Someone drove the mulcher-vac past it several times while the windows were open. There’s all kinds of leaf debris inside my poor little Scion. At least most of the outside dirt blew off as I drove.

**FCD **is the first surgery on Friday. He has to be there by 0545, and surgery is scheduled for 0730. I’ll get him dropped off, settled in, then I’ll go grab some breakfast before settling in the waiting room with my knitting. It’s a 4-hour procedure, so I figure he should be in his room by early afternoon. I hate that I’ll be there alone, but the kids had made plans, and I’m not going to make them sit with me for hours and hours. So I’ll knit. And fret.

Dindin is et and the dishes washed. Thus endeth my weekstart. Irk again tomorrow. Le Sigh.

Appropriate and inappropriate appendages will be crossed for FCD durin’ his surgery on Firday MOOOOOOM.

Good luck on the first day at the new gig tomorrow puggy!

Oh and hi nashii! LTNS.

FCM, yep I have the discount. I have four phones on my plan, 1400 odd minutes, unlimited texting and rollover.

Taxes done and e-filed. Did the son’s tax return too. Bleh. At least I’m getting a little something back.

Feeling completely washed out. But, I think I’ll be feeling well enough to go to work tomorrow.

Ah, that explains it - we have 2 phones, 200 texts (which I never use and I’m wondering if **FCD **uses them at all) and we lose around 600 rollover minutes every month because I rarely use my phone, and FCD uses his more for email than calls.

I feel wiped out, too. I did vacuum the inside of my car, so there’s that. I still haven’t had any chocolate bunny ears. :frowning:

Think I’ll go knit till bed time.

Ok, Reese’s peanut butter eggs are like crack, too. I have to stop!

I had an interesting, busy day at the library. I got NOTHING on my list done or even started (usually hate days like that). But it was just so nice out and everyone really likes my map and the stuffed armchairs in the reading nook, that I didn’t care about getting to My List. It’s supposed to rain (again) tonight. I want to garden dammit!

I need to spread Preen (bought last fall on sale and kept in the basement, she says smugly) and pull weeds like a maniac.
That sucks about that dog. I like dogs, but not enough to have one as a pet. Some people are truly clueless. I hope she didn’t suffer too much (and what is up with not spaying her? Talk about irresponsible!)

Survived irk, so more irk tomorrow.

Vbob, those people are idiots.

Hope FCD’s surgery goes well!

Yay, mmmmmmm!

swampy, it’s gonna be 90 here, too. I can has winter?
