I have an appointment for my hair tomorrow, plus errands to run.
It’s frackin’ cold out and pretty damn windy too. We have a storm blowing in and it’s already caused I-90 to close down at the pass due to cars spinning out, snow, ice, etc.
They’re also saying snow levels could drop down to the 500 foot level. Um, that’s about my elevation. Um, no snow please. Just nice, warm weather would be, well, nice.
Sending good luck and speedy recovery vibes, to you and FCD, FCM. It doesn’t sound like you’re in a big hurry to invite your daughter’s housegest back.
Congrats to the rebos! Both on the job thing and the new fridge. The fridge is nice.

Not entirely to be a buzzkill, but I have that fridge (or one very very similar that is also a GE Profile) and the freezer door Will.Not.Stay.Shut. Love how the fridge looks, but it’s a major PITA. So don’t pine away too hard for it. I think we’re going to burn out the motor soon since it runs constantly to deal with the freezer door popping open. I will not buy another fridge with the freezer on the bottom even though I love love love the concept.
I’m off tomorrow, too, so I’m outta here! Happy weekend to all!
My tumble yesterday took a fair chunk of flesh from my left knee. It looks disgusting and hurts like hell. Plus it keeps seeping blood and other stuff. I know you guys are interested.
Have to teach a class Saturday morning so this Friday is meaningless to me. Grumble.

I’m thinking my daughter is pretty bummed about now. She went and spoke to the advisor/counselor whatever about declaring her major. She was supposed to declare it by next week.
However, she found out, she needs to become an IAS student, and in order to declare what she wants to major in, she’s got to take stats and adolescent psych. Neither of which I find surprising, considering she wants to become a Clinical Psychologist. I’m sure there are other classes she needs as well.
She just told me she’s not too overly bummed, she was kind of joking about being a “professional student”. I’m glad she’s taking it well, anyway. She’s going to the IAS school on Monday to talk to them.
Dang! I just saw what time it was! I got home a little late because I stopped at the pet store to pick up new filters for our fish tank, along with a new “baby” and treats for the dog. I picked up some treats for him that contain chondritin and glucosimine. It’s supposed to be good for the hips and joints. He’s getting older and moves slowly and stiffly sometimes. I figure they can only help. Plus, as a bonus, it’s something he won’t spit out.
And I also have that fridge…well, that model in black. This is the one that has just been replaced because of a defect. So, taxi, as long as you are on warranty (five years for GE Profile), you should call GE repair and have yours looked at. My new model’s freezer compartment has some definite improvements, including the ice-maker. The doors have all been redone to keep them closing tighter.
Today marks the end of my first week at new irk. Things are falling into place and I have only one issue…the desk chair. I cannot sit in it. And all the other chairs available are the same and horrible!
The good news: it rained last night, and the Foomobile has reverted to red from the orange it has been the past few days.
The bad news: I never knew it rained last night, although in a dream I heard a distant rumble of thunder. Why is this a problem? While I was doing the morning bathroom routine, the radio station announced a tornado WARNING for the two counties directly east of me. The line of weather had just gone by, and I was oblivious.:eek:

I did my taxes on Monday. I’m glad it’s over. Fortunately, I don’t have to pay.
I just got done paying a few bills. Ouch. I hate paying bills.
In a bit, I shall clean myself up and tidy the house. This afternoon, I have a hair appointment, and I need to hit the grocery store. Tomorrow, we’re going to a couple’s house for dinner and 99, and Sunday, we’ve been invited up to my daughter’s and boyfriend’s place. Oh, and sometime during the day, Saturday, we’re supposed to go to my husband’s nephew’s place for a BBQ.
blurf. I can’t believe how sleepy I’ve been lately - I slept like fourteen hours yesterday. It’s not helping me get my work done at all. I might be over it now. I hope.
