We're late, we're late! A Monday Afternoon MMP

Like bacon? Cheese? Chicken? You’ll love this.

HAPPY EASTER !!! to those who are feeling Easterish.(Why, yes, I did steal coding from swampy. :p)

Heh, I love those jokes, Bobbio.

Up, caffeinated, getting ready to meet up with Local Best Friend.

Back later…

Happy Easter everyone!

We have to go to MiL’s later today, after my son gets off work. We were supposed to go earlier, but she opted to let us wait for my son, so we could all arrive together.

My Gawd, I have an awful, awful cold. I really don’t want to go anywhere. I just want to snuggle under blankets, stay warm and drink warm beverages.

My husband has already seen that sandwhich, rosie. He fully intends on getting one.

Oh goody, the coffee is ready!

Bad joke from friend who is source of all bad jokes:

Why does the Easter Bunny hide his eggs?

because he doesn’t want anyone knowing he’s been screwing the chickens.

Oof. That’s awful, rosie.
Happy Easter, everyone who celebrates Easter! We’re hanging out at home, watching the new DOctor Who, doing endless laundry, and being pretty quiet.

That KFC thing is disgusting to look at or contemplate.

Happy Death of Christ, oh wait! He lives! day, everyone.
It is glorious here–about 74, sunny with a breeze. My magnolia, daffs, windflowers and hyacinths are all blooming mightily. We had a nice brunch this morning and Skyped with Daughter (who is going to Easter dinner with her BFF and BFF’s family). Easter dinner will be ham, easter-egg baked potatoes (recipe later if I have enough ambition), and salad. No dessert, since we are all pigging on Easter candy.
I switched over 90% of my winter to summer clothes today. Which is a sure sign that we will now get snow…

Enjoy your Sunday, folks!

new spin on an old scam:

If they would only run these things through grammar and syntax checkers . . .

I love the “dont bother contact him because he is a very busy person” bit.

Looked at in a certain light, these are hilarious!
Uh-oh. Rain clouds are moving in. <pouty smiley> I wanted to spend my afternoon on the front porch swing with a book. Guess I dust instead. <need disgusted smiley here>

I ran to the store and picked up some cold meds, a little treat for the kids and hubby, soup, and bouquet of flowers for each of the mothers.

Hubby wants to run down to the ATT&T store and look at phones. We’re eligible for upgrades. The problem is, I don’t know if we can actually get our free upgrades at the store or if I have to do it online. Hubby’s phone is really acting wonky, and he wants a new phone.

What he’d really like is the iPhone, but I told him we’re paying too much already for our cell phone plan. I’m not about to add an extra 30 bucks a month for a data plan. Yes, I’m cheap, dammit. As long as I can text or talk, I’m happy. I don’t need to access the internet from my phone. I also don’t want to put out all that money for an iPhone, because, again, I’m cheap.

I’m going over to my parents’ for Easter (even though I don’t celebrate). I was going to go over in the evening, but I can do my homework there and not be distracted by the internet (instead I’ll be distracted by kittehs!)

I’m currently trying to decide which kimono to wear. (Neither is formal or especially springy.) I wore one a few weeks back (and never folded it  so it’s probably really wrinkly…) I can’t make up my mind!

Okay, I’ve flipped a coin, was happy with neither decision, so went with the stuff I didn’t wear last time. Blue kimono with arrow patterns and rainbow striped obi it is! (I’ll post pics to FB later)

Taters, I’m with you on the cell phone, but I have to say, my spousal unit does use his iPhone for work, so I kinda bite my tongue regarding the cost. And it did help out once when we got lost - we were able to google our destination and get directions. But I still don’t want one for me.

We got a lot done this weekend - of course, having taken Friday off had a little to do with it. We finished the deck (handrail on the steps and lattice around the stairs), I transplanted 2 azaleas and half a dozen hosta, I bought planters and filled them with 'maters and peppers, plus cleaned a couple of old planters and loaded them - I’ve now got marigolds on the deck, as well as in the new flower bed. I also planted dusty miller, 2 columbines, and transplanted the catnip. Plus **FCD **drove the mulcher vac over the front yard, so it’s looking good, and the grass has a chance to grow now. I’ll post some pics tomorrow - I still need to plant 6 more marigolds.

Can’t believe the weekend is over. I’m so ready for another! Altho next weekend, I’ll be sitting in the hospital with my sweetie. Surgery on Friday…

We have gorgeous weather too. Very nice change of pace.

That’s an interesting take on the scam, rosie.

Spent most of the day with Local Best Friend, her 2 1/2-year-old daughter, and my brother. We had a nice, easy Easter dinner featuring boughten rotisserie chicken, then went to the playground and watched the toddler climb, and slide and swing. She was way tired, so it was extra funny. She’s a very entertaining little kid.

Now I’m exhausted and can’t believe the weekend is almost over.

I’m sure there’s something I ought to be doing, but what?

Back later.

I want to bite the ears off a chocolate bunny. Too bad I don’t have a chocolate bunny… :frowning:

TH has an iPhone and loves it. I would like one, too (my phone is at least 6 years old). It’s something I mean to get around to… someday. First I need an iPod–my Nano is full and I want MORE music, dammit! And yet, I never seem to get to the Apple store. <sigh>
It is pouring and thunderstorming here. Our nice sunny afternoon is gone. We have had Easter dinner. I now face ironing an outfit for tomorrow. I hate ironing–so why do I buy cotton and linen things?
Can’t believe weekend is over, either. Where did it go? I can’t even remember what I did yesterday.

And, apparently, once people start tweeting about Peeps, it never ends. Here’s one person’s variation on the previously-linked sushi…

The phone I lost was a Blackberry, which was the cheapest decent smartphone I could find when my old one died. I had it synched with my contacts and calendar at work, which was really handy. Replacement doesn’t synch with anything, but has decent voice quality. I really miss having my calendar and contacts handly. Don’t really want to get another PDA… We’ll see how long I can last without one… Don’t think I’ll be getting another smartphone anytime soon since AT&T now makes you get a data plan and, yeah, I’m cheap too. My brother loves his iPhone, but he uses it for work as well, which probably makes it worth it.

Need more weekend!

Howdy Y’all! Wonderful Easter service this mornin’ even if I did sneeze a lot. YP has a large and in charge thing for incense. Thus I sang the big Easter hymn like this:

Jesus Christ is risen today! ACHOOIA!

instead of:

Jesus Christ is risen today! ALLELUIA

Plus I got to play with the tambourine again! YAY!

Easter lunch was waaaaaay good and a lot of fun. Good friends. Good food, Good wine. Good times.

Now here’s what I like:

HAPPYEASTER!!!

It’s been a bizarre, upside-down day for me. My SO had a mild stroke and is in the hospital. That’s about all I do know at this point. It looks like he’s going to be okay however there will probably be massive changes in diet, etc. now, not to mention rehab time. Better than the alternative, though.

I’m sorta in a daze, so Rosie’s sig to all. Please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers too.

rigs - screw the Apple store - you’ll get a MUCH better price at MacMall

{{{{{{Spicy}}}}}}}

ETA: Mild full stroke, or TIA?

{{{Herbs}}} here’s hopin’ the SO is ok. I’ll keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers.

Rosie I was thinkin’ the same thing re the Apple Store.

Hmmm… do I want a ham sammich or a piece of caramel cake or a ham sammich with a piece of caramel cake for dessert. Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
