We've got waffles, MMP!

Must be, since I told the landlord last week I wanted to renew the lease for another year. :smack:

This is the second corporation I’ve worked for that has (or had) a presence in Albeeny. I’ve been there.

Really? I thought you were planning a relocation to L-town??

Just finished bathing Scruffy. What a mess that was. When **FCD **gets home, I’ll need his help to trim a matted clump off her belly, then maybe I can trim her bangs a bit, too. At least she doesn’t stink as bad…

Hard to believe next week is Thanksgiving - where did the year go??

Eventually, but I’ve played the poverty and lazy cards for now.

back from doc - she gave me cortisone shots in my lower lumbar - I’ll let you know tomorrow if they did any good

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk earlyish cause I had trainin’ today and it was go home time wh en it’s over, so yay! This trainin’ was “Elderly Sensitivity Training.” It was actually quite good trainin’. The N.O.L. was also not too shabby. Good peach cobbler for dessert even!

BBBobbio Albeeeeeeeeny is still the paradise it was when you came here even if that was twenty years ago. IOW it doth sucketh just as much now as it did then, whenever then was.

Soon I shall go meet OYKW at (NEENER! NEENER! NEENER! MOOOOOM :p) Sonny’s BBQ.

Later Y’all!

Well, poo! OYKW is stuck at irk to get some stuff ready for a monitorin’ tomorrow so he called to ask if it’s ok if’n we postpone Sunny’s until tomorrow. I’m all sad and broke up. Poor Me. I must delay bbq satisfaction by a whole day! Life is so cruel. So, Ima eat me some leftovers and told him to come by for leftovers when he gets through. Ima go to Evenin’ Prayer in a while but since I’m all sweet-like and such I’ll have a plate ready for him to nuke.

Poor Me!

LiLi - My equine vet had a baby last month. She had an emergency C-section and came home with a baby and a MERSA infection. Be careful of those infections!

FCM - Here you go - kiln for your home. Only $100 smackers so far, and the auction ends tomorrow. Of course, shipping from Tennessee might cost more than the kiln!

Migraine, day 7. Blurgh.

StG

I considered it.. a few of my mates are burlesque performers…

I’m English, and I’ve only seen maybe two episodes of Doctor Who- both in religion classes at school for some reason

This terrible situation is mainly 'cos I was brought up TV-less, which doesn’t stop me worshipping Sir David Attenborough, but does stop me being much use at pub quizzes.

Hope the cortisone helps Rosie!

**swampy **- serves ya right! :stuck_out_tongue:

**StG **- if I didn’t already have a kiln, I’d be really interested. It’s the same diameter as mine, but one ring taller. But I don’t need 2 kilns.

The company I’ve been temping at since January just gave me a jacket. I don’t technically work for this company (although it would be cheaper for them if I did). And it’s a nice lined windbreaker.

It almost makes me feel bad for surfing the net at work all the time.

Mmmmm waffles. Few things are better on a chilly morning that hot, buttery waffles with syrup in each delightful little square…

Thanks for the tasty OP. I just had supper and I’m hungry again. Regis Philbin is retiring and now this happens?!!!

Anyway, sorry I haven’t been around much. Work’s been completely nuts. I’ve been wanting to post this story from last weekend and now I finally have a moment…

As you might know, I go to visit my girlfriend on the weekends. She has a cute, charcoal gray cat named Chris that she found abandoned a few years back. Lately Chris has been stalking something but we couldn’t figure out what. Sometimes birds nest outside, so we wrote it off to that.

So Saturday I show up and after dropping my knapsack off in the bedroom, I head back into the livingroom. Now my girlfriend spoils Chris to no end and the cat has a ton of toys, including many little stuffed mice that look like this. Well on her sofa is a big plush penguin that looks like this. I noticed what I thought was one of the little stuffed mice on top of the plush penguin. I thought it odd, but I’ve found these things in every nook and cranny of the apartment. “Hmmm that coloring is incredibly realistic” I think to myself as I go to take a closer look. It’s then I realize the whiskers on the mouse are moving and it’s not a stuffed mouse, but a real mouse that decided to take a nap on top of the penguin!

Chris the cat is in the livingroom the whole time, completely oblivious that what she’s been stalking for the last week is less than three feet from her nose.

Well, I tell the girlfriend and we both go out to take a look. The mouse wakes up, but doesn’t move. I know I’ll need to act quick to catch this sucker and we retreat to the bedroom to form a plan and hope the mouse falls back asleep before we can put the plan in action. Chris the cat is still completely unaware of the mouse.

I grab a plastic bag and tell the girlfriend her job is to close the door behind me and make sure the cat doesn’t escape while I get the bagged mouse outside. It all goes off without a hitch. I grab the penguin and stuff it in the bag and run outside. Then I take the penguin out of the bag and see the poor little mouse is hanging on for dear life. One quick shake and the mouse flies off and lands in some leaves. Mission accomplished.

Of course, now Chris the cat is known as the world’s worst mouser. When she started meowing for supper I teased her that it’s a good thing she doesn’t have to earn her keep. My girlfriend said that in this economy you’d think Chris would be a little more concerned with job security.

You know, it’s bad enough that Regis Philbin is retiring, but now this?!!!

Off to watch the Regis Without Kathy Lee Show (soon to be The Show Without Regis Or Kathy Lee),
Bri2k

A world without Regis and Kathy Lee would be a good world. Just sayin’.

Home from Evenin’ Prayer. 'Twas a good service, as usual.

Shortly I shall go lie upon the bed and watch me some teevee until sleepy bye time. Then visions of Sonny’s BBQ shall dance in my haid. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am here! I am alive! I am in Arkansas! Although in a couple of the places I visited today I heard the duelling banjos…

Must go eat food and possibly have a white cranberry cosmo in the bar!

What am I missing? Kathy Lee hasn’t been Regis’ cohost in 10 years? And yeah - he should retire already - doddering old fool. Is Kelli leaving too?

You guys are messing with me, aren’t you? I thought that horrid little man left the show a couple months ago. Bri2k– you’re missing him ironically, right? Right? I think Kelli and Kathy Lee should host together. It’d be either hilarious or Celebrity Death Match, but either way, good t.v.

Back from the therapist. He thinks I should loosen up a little.

OMG, is it already Wednesday??? How did the time pass? Off to read and catch up. I didn’t miss anything, did I?

ETA: (in a double post because it takes me longer than 5 minutes to read three pages of posts)Why is LiLi in the hospital??? This I do not like at all.

Plus I applied for a faculty position on LI.. This moving thing is starting to get real.

lookee me all skimming and not reading.

:frowning:

Sending good luck vibes to you, Soapy.

It’s been another one of those days, and then some! I’m tired.

Hugs, gropes, kisses, good wishes to all.

Soapy, LiLi is only partly in the hospital. She needed IV antibiotics for a UTI that refused to respond to other antibiotics. Home nurses were unable to grasp the concept of antibiotics every 8 hours, so her doc sent her to the hospital part time.

Very entertaining MMP, I have to say.

Loved the mouse story, Brick. And the image of you scooting about town in your tiara, A[sup]2[/sup], made me giggle.

I had a 30% off coupon for Kohl’s that expired today, so I went and spent $428 and saved $573. I got a ton of Christmas shopping out of the way, though. And got a few household items (a blanket and a coverlet), all of Mom’s presents, 13 pairs of earrings (guess what all my girl cousins are getting?), a sweater and a quilted vest for me, a cute little necklace that goes with my ring, two pairs of athletic shoes, and a few other items I’m forgetting…oh, yeah, some clothes for my nephew: two pairs of sweatpants, a Beatles t-shirt, and a nice hoodie. I love Kohl’s.

I’m not the least little bit sleepy. But I guess I should try to fall asleep.

Hugs.
