No, it’s Thursday. :D:cool:
Stonybrook or Hofstra?
This is often necessary. No more sad blue smilies m’Man!
Alas GT, I’m not brave enough to wear the tiara out in public. To add goofiness I put doggles http://www.funnyflatfaces.com/pug-with-doggles.jpgon Sweet Pea for top-down travel.
I don’t deserve the tiara anyway, or maybe I need it more than ever. My first set of ribs taste right, but something went wrong in the cooking I think. Not as moist as they should have been.
Any suggestions/solutions will earn you virtual smooches galore (bribe bribe). I brine them and then cook 'em wrapped in foil pouches for 1 hr at 350, then 250 for about 2 hrs more. The only change was a different oven.
What wild color would you dye your hair if there were no repercussions and it’d look fabuu, no matter what? I’m thinking medium-dark blue green.
Damn. How’d that happen.
Thekitchenpeoplearebuildingmykitchen TODAY!
Wheeee!
Sadly they found something which needs a plumber, which is the one trade I hadn’t needed, so they have to see about getting one pretty please… sigh. Their “dealing with customers partner”, who is an old friend of mine (as in we’ve known each other a long time, not as in he’s old; he’s younger than me), said he’d figured I’d say exactly what I said but didn’t want to go ahead and just do it without talking with me.
Since the painter is supposed to go next week, I might actually go back to having a livable house before the end of the month!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 66. This means by the time I leave for irk it will be as warm as it’s gonna be for the day. Weird. The prediction for Turkey Day is low 70’s and wet. However, bein’ as that’s a whole week away, that will most likely change.
Speakin’ of Turkey Day, I’m hostin’ I do believe twelve people. Folks are bringin’ stuff but Ima do the turkey, dressin’, gravy (because nobody but me can do giblet gravy right. I’m OCD with gravy.), collards and sweet N.O.T. pie. Then, on Firday OYKW and I shall go our separate ways to see family over the weekend. Normally he leaves on Wednesday but this year he wanted to be here for Turkey Day cause he likes my turkey, dressin’ and gravy.
Ashes[sup]2[/sup] I say a medium light chartreuse/orange just cause I’d like to see what that would look like.
Soapy appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job interview.
mmmmmm’s since you’re in Arkansaw, you should find you some corn squeezin’s as a surprise for Mr. mmmmmm’s. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.
Now I must seek more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. I have to attend a meetin’, ick, but I will get a free N.O.L. out of it so there’s that.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Good morning!! Turns out Scruffy isn’t as blind as we’d thought. She was just badly in need of a haircut, to the point that eye goop was accumulating on the hair around her eyes. And while you may think I’m a terrible doggie-mom for not noticing, you need to know that Scruffy doesn’t really like skritches and cuddles, so life with her consists of letting her out to potty, feeding her, and confining her to the small bedroom at night. The rest of the time, she mostly avoids human contact and we’ve come to accept that. But last night when I got **FCD **to hold her so I could trim the mats that I felt on her belly when I bathed her yesterday, I decided to trim around her face (she’s part poodle - the hair part) and that’s when I got a good look at her eyes. Her behavior afterwards was amazing - no more walking into furniture! And here I thought she was just going blind like Bernie did…
Brick - I don’t know what our cats would do if there was a mouse in the house, but I know Taz is relentless when he corners a cricket!
We’ve had mousies in the garage and I expect we will again, but so far, the house is safe. Which is great. We don’t need any more critters in here.
As to Regis - I only see him on those stupid bank commercials, and that’s too much. Never much cared for his bimbettes, either. Then again, morning talk TV pisses me off just because it exists. I can’t even watch stuff like the Today show because it’s so inane. Damn those who program to the lowest common denominator!!!
I’m not sure what I’ll do after class today. I need to get a haircut - well, a trim of about 3". Maybe I’ll stop on the way home. And I need to call my friend Val - she’s going to my mom’s with us for the turkey orgy next week and we need to arrange where we’ll meet. And I should probably plan for a real meal tonight - maybe I’ll make some veggie beef soup when I get home. Yeah, that sounds good…
Happy Thursday!
Blurf.
I’m pointlessly grumpy today.
*<pokes **BBBobbio **so he has a reason to be grumpy>

What are friends for??
Part of my hair is purple. If I pull it up into a ponytail it can be seen. It’s awesome. Someday when I have to grow up and get a real job I guess I’ll have to change it back. But until then… ![]()
Yesterday was not a good day for me. I’m hoping today is much better.
Wishes Sticky Buns a better day.
Hopes LiLi gets better soon.
Pokes Bobbio, jut to be helpful.
What a productive morning!
Amazing how a car will start right up with a new battery, huh? Turns out it had a crack, and was causing corrosion to form around the terminal.
Scarfing down some breakfast so people won’t hear a growling tummy in the back to back meeting I have starting at 8:00 am. Mmm, minestrone!
Tomorrow is my day off, so today is my Firday! Yay!
Have a good one, guys…
I forgot to mentioned I’m all dressed up today. A suit and tie even! I’s spiffy!
Didn’t work. Poking me with a stick was pointless… :rimshot:
graaagh. Headache and early Math class. Surprise Turkey Day dinner! Still underslept and I had more than 7 hours. Must make coffee now…
blurf
But it was a pointy stick.

The pond behind our development froze over last night, enough that the geese could stand on it, and I caught one of them slipping enough that it had to flap its wings to keep from falling. It was hilarious. Another one was trying to act as an ice breaker and was putting a lot of effort into cracking through. It was great to see them perturbed by the ice. Hopefully it’ll make them all fly south.
I too am perturbed by ice. I am one with taxi’s geese!
I’s hongry. Lunch meetin’ in a bit. I’ll be all whatever, let’s eat!
Ugh.
Sweetie’s dad came by with his chainsaw to help us clean up the hurricane and snowstorm damage. I woke up late, just as his dad got here and the first thing I noticed was that I felt like hell…again. I took a long hot shower and used my Neti Pot but it didn’t help at all. While they were tarring the roof, I pulled all the big limbs to the driveway so they could cut them smaller and then I filled another 3 leaf bags with leaves. Now I’m beat. I doubt I was even out there for an hour. I’m sneezing and coughing again (well, the coughing never stopped), my ears hurt and I’m dizzy. Friggen hell. I spent a week thinking my cold was pretty much over (except the minor coughing). Apparently, I was wrong.
My house looks like crap and my yard is a disaster area and every time I try to do something about it, the exertion brings the cold back with a vengeance. It is driving me crazy!!
On the plus side, my tooth stopped throbbing. I think the pressure shifted just enough. Unfortunately now my left ear feels like it’s about to implode.
One more month of school until I get a month vacation. I really need this. I’m totally wasted. I’m going to sleep normal hours and play with my puppies and try to clean my house and it’s going to be loverly.
Death be upon selfish, slobbish pottery students!!
Someone in one of the other classes made a sculpture that was quite large, and set it on the wedging table. EVERYONE uses the wedging table, sometimes several times a day. How selfish to use it for personal storage! grrrrrrrr
Several someones have been storing their works in progress on the limited number of decorating wheels (small lazy susan like devices that are very handy when you’re painting or underglazing a piece or working on a sculpture that you don’t want to handle too much) - we only have 6 or 7 for 3 classes to use, and both Tuesday and today, most of them were being used for storage. grrrrrrrr
Whoever removed my littlest penguin from the kiln broke one of its feet off. Dunno what happened to the foot but it doesn’t matter - it’s ruined. grrrrrrrr
Someone with brown clay residue on their grubby hands grabbed hold of my snowman… my *white *snowman. Now he has a big brown handprint encircling his body. I don’t know if I can sand it off - it may be fired into the clay. grrrrrrrr And I don’t know if it was the same person or someone else, but when the clay was still wet, someone set my snowman on an uneven surface so there’s now a big dent in the base. Don’t know if I can sand that out either. grrrrrrrr
And finally, one of the two big bowls I threw came out of the kiln with a crack in the bottom that goes all the way through. That was my fault - apparently I didn’t compress the clay adequately when I was forming the base. If I try to glaze and fire it, figuring to use it even with the crack, it’s likely to crack even more. So it’s garbage. grrrrrrrr
On the plus side, I glazed the large flatter bowl - in black. I think it’ll look good. And I glazed the spotted dish. Both are waiting for final firing. And the larger penguin came out OK. I’ve started underglazing him. I think he’s going to be an alternate penguin - either reversing the white and black or maybe trying purple and white. Decisions, decisions…
Lunch time! Maybe that’ll mellow me. Stoopit lazy slob students… grrrrrrrr
