Kinsale, Ireland:
1 liter milk = €1.38 = $2.19
(I could have gone to the chain store and gotten it for €1.25 = $1.99)
I don’t drive here, so I’m not up on the price of petrol, er… gas

$1.39 per quart for 1% at the local Whole Foods (other local markets Publix & Kroger are 20-30 cents more).
$4.02 per gallon at the local QT this afternoon (it was 3.98 this morning).
Milk: $1.80 a litre
Petrol: $1.70 a litre.
Milk 85 pence for 2 pints (about 75 pence per litre)
Diesel £1.34 per litre
In American units (including conversion to US gallons)…
Milk: $5.66 per gallon
Diesel $10.11 per gallon
$3.99/gal for 2% milk from Vallarta; Shell gas regular is $4.55/gal.
I paid $4.49 for a gallon of milk at Publix last week. A gallon of regular unleaded at the local Chevron (which appears to be the cheapest around) costs $4.07.
If I did the conversion right, gas is $5.18 per US gallon.
Milk, I don’t have a clue.
In Montreal:
Nearest gas is $1.45/liter (US$5.45/US gal)
2% milk in bags is $5.34 for 4 liters (US$5.02/US gal)
Just north of Colorado Springs:
$3.89 per gallon. Same price for each. Both at Safeway.
Holy crap! Wow, we *do *have it easy in Oklahoma. The cheap gas is $3.87. The premium stuff is $4.07.
I don’t drink milk so I don’t know about it.
At my local Exxon station, regular gas is $3.89 a gallon (closer to $3.99 at most places). At my local supermarket, a gallon of milk is $3.49 for the generic brand, $3.99 for name brands.
No clue about milk, but gas was $4.05 last week when I filled up.
To me, one of the most interesting things about this thread is finding out how many of you get by on little or no milk!
Sorry, meant to post this last night: a half gallon of “skim deluxe” was $2.59.
I paid attention today:
Gas: $4.05/gallon unleaded
Milk: “regular” or store brands average of about $3.50/gallon
We buy milk that comes from a local dairy in glass bottles at $2.19/half gallon (it tastes way better than the stuff that comes in plastic!)
(Central WI, about an hour north of Harmonious Discord)
I don’t buy milk, so I have no idea, but 87 Octane gasoline at the stations I frequent in Burlington County, NJ are $3.82 and $3.87 (both Valero). There are others in surrounding areas a little above $4.00, but I don’t buy there.
Gas ~$4.05, Milk ~$3.99
Followup - I just paid $3.89 for gas at a station that was selling it for $3.87 this morning :(. I hate when that happens.
Milk - $2.70 a litre
Petrol - $1.69 a litre
A gallon is roughly 1/4 of a litre so if I’m doing this right it works out to:
Milk - $10.60 USD a gallon
Petrol - $6.60 USD a gallon
I buy both maybe once every two months. I’m pretty sure I got ripped off for the milk.
I think so. I pay roughly that price for 2 litres of milk.
I’m not sure what petrol prices are around here, but they’d be comparable to Melbourne’s I’d imagine.
