What Color is your MMP?

Wore a nubbly blazer today with deep turquoise, green, black and dark gray. Everything else was black.

Yay for Culinary Boy!

Tired. Long, meeting-filled day.

Should be asleep, but still adjusting to new time.

Hugs all.

Gratz to Culinary Boy; prayers sent Bumba’s way.

I haz migraine. I’m lucky in that my migraines are about the mildest it’s possible for a migraine to be, but it still sucks. Icepicks do not belong in people’s eyes, damnit, and trepanation without anesthesia is probably against the law - definitely against human rights. I blame the freak weather (wonder if it’s related to the mess in Japan?): the whole NE of Spain, from thereabouts of Santander through the Ebro Valley and down beyond Valencia is blanketed by a single white cloud. Last summer there were water restrictions in Catalonia: right now they have overflowing reservoirs (literally, forget about “the gates have been opened” - the water is jumping over the wall).

Good morning all! I’m up and caffeinating, having had a bowl of oatmeal for brekkies.

Sorry that I didn’t get back online yesterday (told y’all I was tired!), but the pot roast with the cranberry sauce was delicious! We served it with mashed potatoes; it may have been a -tad- sweetish, but it didn’t bother me, really, and I thought it tasted great. It’s definitely something that I’ll fix again. Next up: pot roast with a jar of horseradish sauce.

Yay for Culinary Boy, Spaz! Dotty, your family and friends remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Rosie’s .sig because I know I’m forgetting stuff. :frowning: I gotta finish getting ready for work.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out right now. Lookin’ for a high of near 80 Amurrkin.

LiLi from the sound of your posts, I’ll bet it’ll be Gnat beatin’ you up and takin’ the grocery money.

Herbs glad the crock potted pot roast turned out good. It will be dindin here at da cave in the near future methinks.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. Need more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy and, of course, must commence irk purtification.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Compared to the 3 restaraunts in Cottonfield County, it was 5-star… :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m NOT kidding when I say there are only 3 places to eat there, BTW…

Blurf. Another day, another boot to the head.

Happy Hump Day!

I’m feeling almost human today. Yay! Sorry about your migraine, Nava - I can definitely relate.

I received my new workout shoes yesterday. I decided I would wear them to work. They are called VivoBarefoot. They feel weird! The heel is super thin, like walking barefoot! Check out their website.

Laterz…

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. hockey tonight.

Afternoon, all! Colour…well, today I am mostly wearing black. Most of my wardrobe is black or purple for work with the occasional bit of blue but mostly I stick to dark colours. The house is a bit of a different matter because it is very dark so I am trying to introduce lighter shades in there to make it look brighter and a bit less like a mortuary with lights.

Uninspiring week so far, nothing exciting to report except to say that I am off to a rock club on Saturday night to see Turisas…and that is more excitement than I can possibly cope with today. I still haven’t decided what to wear yet though.

Positive thoughts and good vibes to all who need 'em, and wet trout to the rest of ya!

If only he could drive himself to the toy store, he might do it.

I’ve got a thread over in IMHO and many people are saying, “Yes, all three-year-olds need strangling.” It’s a comfort.

Morning, time to get dressed and hit Costco for party food. Little croissant sandwiches, Greek pastries, homemade hot cross buns, cheese bread, birthday cake, pita and dips, anything else I can think of. Last count including our family- twenty people in our small house. Whew.

I think I must be living in an alternate version of reality. Most of my friends have flown out to Dubai or Doha (Qatar), the Australian government is telling me to leave, Twitter and Facebook are ablaze with unsubstantiated rumours, horror stories and a few grains of truth.

Then, there is our neighbourhood, which (thank God) is a haven of calm and quiet, primarily thanks to the frackin’ huge Armoured Personnel Carriers and tanks at the end of every bridge leading onto the island (Muharraq) where we live, as well as dozens of volunteer-manned civilian checkpoints at various points.

Please God, don’t let the nonsense on Twitter, etc. spill over into the Dope. I am not in the mood for explaining the situation to people who aren’t in Bahrain exactly how much BS is on the internet!

Dotty, I’m glad to read that things are being blown up a bit out of proportion. Still, I worry for you and your family. I hope you all continue to be alright.

Well, the University of Washington turned my son down. It’s not surprising; it’s a tough school to get into. There were nearly 25,000 applications for around 5400 freshmen slots. So, it looks like he’ll be going to Washington State University on the other side of the state. He says he’s excited about WSU, but I know he’s deeply disappointed at his rejection from UW. He wanted UW because it has what he wanted to major in (aeronautical engineering).

We sent in the two hundred dollar acceptance fee to WSU last night. Next month we’ll have to go pay the school a visit. I gagged when I saw what it costs. He’s going to have a lot of student loans.:frowning:

Life has been hectic for me. I wish it would slow down. I’m tired and depressed. I don’t know why I can’t shake the funk. It’s been around awhile now.

I’m keeping your niece in my thoughts, **Bumba. **

Congrats to Culinary Boy!

Well, I must attend to my work. Same as always; too much to do; too little time.

Sorry for the funk, taters. I think your last line about too much to do and too little time might have something to do with it! It seems like your job has been bad for a while. And the winter weather never helps. I know I’m starting to pull out of my winter funk now that the sun has come out a bit; hopefully you’ll feel the same soon too.

I’ve got my gmail open, and all of the ads right now are for Zimbabwe - cheap calls, flights to Harare, jobs in Zimbabwe. What could I possibly have said that would make google think that I want all that info on Zimbabwe??

Manager just called our team into an impromptu meeting to tell us that her boss is no longer working for the company, effective immediately. I don’t know if he left or was asked to leave. Of course, I’m dying of curiosity, but I really can’t ask. ::sigh::

blurf[sup]3[/sup]

Ow. Headache sinus ache need duct tape for children.
Actually the kids are okay right now, I’m just cranky.
Stuffed baked potatoes and sauteed broccoli for dinner. Should be good.

OK, go hereand vote way low! I would dearly love to get a makeover for my front yard. Heck, I’d like someone to tell me what to do with it - as you can tell from the photos, it’s a disaster of death! Gimme lots of 1s - that’s what it deserves!! Thank you for your vote of no-confidence.

I had a cheese steak sub for lunch that’s sitting like a lump in my gut. ugh. Dunno what I’m going to feed the fambly for supper, tho. Grilled cheese, perhaps?

Other than that, I got nothing. Hugs all around, gropes and butt-pinches randomly added. Why isn’t it Firday???

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and shortly shall get myself ready for soup 'n sammich and St. Patrick’s church service at da church house.

MOOOOOOM I voted! Everybody else go vote! I say start a thread on it too. Dopers are notorious for wantin’ to go click on stuff and vote.
