What did the ''California Bikini Lady'' do that she's not going to be prosecuted for?

On the local news tonight they had an update to last night’s story about the “California bikini lady.” Unfortunately I missed last night’s story so I have no idea what they were talking about. All they said was that she isn’t going to be prosecuted after all, but when they called to tell her so, she was already on a flight out of town. What the heck did she do with that bikini?

I should clarify. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a local story, even though it was on the local news. I think it was one of those Thank-God-we-live-in-Maine-and-not-in-a-crazy-place-like-California stories they have with clocklike regularity on the local news hereabouts. But I could be wrong.

If it’s the same news item I saw (and I only caught a moment of the newscast), she was working in her backyard garden (suburban neighborhood) in a thong bikini. From what I could see, there was no fence or bushes around the house, and the neighbors were upset that children were exposed to her (string bikini, no butt coverage at all).

THIS was what she was arrested for??? In California? I fail to see the problem.

Other than being a gleaming example of “White Trash,” not a damn thing as far as I can tell.

Did she have a pretty nice ass? Wearing a string bikini in eyeshot of other humans without the buns to pull it off should in fact be a punishable offence, and will be when I am king.

I am almost certain it was Salt Lake, Utah and not California. And yes, it was working working in her garden in very skimpy bikinis. The “bust” was for lewed behavior.

The attractive lady in question claims that the real reason is that neighbors found out that she runs a topless house cleaning service and just want to harrass her.

Translation: We caught our husbands licking the glass as you worked and now feel we need to get rid of you.

Hey she can prune my bushes anytime she likes in whatever

Which service was it? I’m curious because I suddenly need to have my… uh… floors vacuumed.

Ok, exactlly what would be the point of this? I mean, of course, if it’s just housecleaning. If she’s offering to wax thier “table”, then I could understand, but what would be the thrill of watching someone vacume or scrub the toilet topless? Playboy TV would be much cheaper per month, and allow much more freedom to …relieve stress.

Floors vacuumed? Like story.

Then again I have been meaning to get my ashes hauled…

Here is an article on the subject.

Neighbors: Bikini Taking a Toll
BY MICHAEL VIGH, THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE - Tuesday, July 17, 2001
(has a photo of the offending bikini-clad yard worker, for those of you interested in pictures of women in a bikini)

summary:
Dee Dee Darian, owner of a topless maid service and one-time candidate for West Point (Utah) City Council, now faces possible lewdness charges for doing yard work while wearing a skimpy bikini. One of her neighbours called the police.
<<A Utahn is guilty of the class B misdemeanor if that person “exposes his or her genitals or private parts, masturbates, engages in trespassory voyeurism, or performs any other act in a public place or under circumstances [that] will likely cause affront or alarm to, on, or in the presence of another who is 14 years of age or older.”>>
Ms. Derian claims innocence and says she was wearing a “standard-size” bikini.

I do appreciate the link from the Salt Lake Tribune, Arnold. However it did raise a question that might lead to a hijack.

What the heck is a “Bikini Team” (as mentioned in the article)? I am from a small town in Colorado and am very unfamiliar with such a team (new Olympic team?). Maybe you city folk are more acquainted with them. If so, please share. Um…not the team necessarily, but some information about what a bikini team does.

I love this kind of research…

I think Tiffany has a nice… smile.

Utah Bikini Team
Wow. Hi Cori.

As it were.

I remember seeing this on some tabloid tv program. They interviewed her neighbors, including a fifteen-year-old boy. The kid thought it was disgusting, a woman gardening in her bikini like that.

What the hell is wrong with Utah? I mean, I’ve seen kids there on anti-pr0n rallies. Do they teach their children that the female body is offensive, rude, and something to be ashamed of? Damn mormons… [flamebait!]

Where does it say the complainants were ‘Mormon’?

And to answer your question regarding the female body, children who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are taught that their bodies are temples and should be well cared for and revered, and that there are other ways to get attention and approval than baring their bodies. That sexual intimacy (including viewing) should be within the bonds of marriage. That the physical relationship between a husband and wife can be beautiful, delightful and even sacred

I just can’t tell you all how relieved I was, after seeing the thread title, to read this and find out that the “California Bikini Lady” wasn’t my mom!

I don’t see what the fuss is about. It’s her yard, and sheesh, as long as she’s not scaring the horses, who cares?
