It’s probably the usual terminological differences between countries, but here crumpets and English muffins are two entirely different beasts.
Breakfast? That’s easy- 2 cups of black coffee and a birth control pill.
Breakfast of champions, baby!
Coffee and a piece of bread.
A bananna and two slices of 9-grain bread (aka birdseed bread) with peanut butter.
I haven’t eaten breakfast in years. I just never feel like eating until I’ve been up and about for a few hours.

A crumpet is a doughy sorta thing with holes in, you toast it and butter it.
An English muffin is(or can be) plain or fruity, usually raisins, again sliced and toasted( or not )and spread with butter.
Best non fruity muffins are Warburtons oven bottom ones, slightly burned and great for sandwiches of roast beef.
Best fruity ones are Cliffs.
An American muffin is a huge cake like thingy with all sorts of various fillings, blueberry, apple, chocolate etc.
Well that’s over here anyways
It’s technically breakfast if it’s before noon, right?
If so, then pad thai with prawns with cranberry juice.
Yesterday it was stir-fried Chinese sausage with rice and water.
Tomorrow…ooo a grilled cheese sandwich sounds good.
…Ok maybe it’s really brunch…
And here I go, neglecting my own breakfast.
90g tin of tuna in spring water, 4 Vita Wheats and a little squeeze of creamy, whole-egg mayo.
Nothing. For three days straight.
I’ll be drinking jasmine tea. I’ll probably have leftover cheese omelette on toast.

While I am a dedicated tea drinker, I just can’t get into the herbal and floral teas. They lack substance, like I want something more in my mouth. Twinings English Breakfast for me, please.
Quick oats cooked in skim milk with 1 tbsp brown sugar, some cinnamon, a shake of nutmeg and pinch of salt (to keep it from being too sweet). Two cups of coffee with milk & sugar. I was going to have fruit, but was too lazy to drag the cut canteloupe out of the back of our fridge.
I had the canteloupe, overlyverbose. It was very good - I put salt on it.
I think the verdict on the salted canteloupe is going to be split. People are either going the say, “Eewww, that’s gross!” or “Yeah, I do that; it’s good.”
Four cups of French-roast Nicaraguan coffee, black, and a bowl of seafood ramen with two eggs poached in it.
Yesterday I had vegan french toast with a little maple syrup, one free-range, hormone- and anti-biotic egg over medium, and a cup of fair trade coffee with organic half and half.
Today I’ve had a Tic Tac, but when I wake up enough I’ll bet there’s some cheese and a nectarine in my future.
I like jasmine, steeped pretty strong. It’s a green tea with floral notes instead of the grassiness that I normally find displeasing. Have you tried gen mi cha, roasted rice tea? It’s yummy. I normally drink orange pekoe with breakfast, but i wanted something I didn’t take with sugar.
This is a crumpet.
This is an English Muffin (with bacon and egg)
This is a biscuit.
Any questions?
Where I come from, this is a biscuit. Best with a slide of smoked ham or sausage inserted, but some prefer butter and jelly.
Your biscuit would be called a cookie.
Four buttermilk pancakes with syrup, and three breakfast sausages. Monday, probably the same— I have extra batter. Tuesday, probably a Western omelette (onion, bacon, cheese).
This morning it was bran flakes with milk and chopped strawberries. On most mornings I also include a glass of orange juice. This morning, however, I woke up to realize that I’d forgotten to take the half-gallon of orange juice out of the freezer last night, so it was still a solid block of ice. I’ll be back to regular orange juice tomorrow.
I eat cereal every day except for the days when I’m taking a hiking trip or a long bike ride. On those days I need extra calories, so I eat some combination of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and waffles at breakfast. In the wintertime, I’ll have some oatmeal on hand since it’s better than cereal on really cold mornings. Tea sometimes appears in the winter as well.
