What did you have for breakfast?

Mmmm… Oatmeal…

SmithWife makes “old fashoined” oatmeal - not instant. When it’s finished cooking she lets it cool for a few minutes, then stirs in a couple tablespoons of applesauce and liberally sprinkles with ground cinnamon. It is delectable (inasmuch as porridge can be delectable).

Cheap black coffee bought from the local greasy spoon/diner joint (85 cents for a large to-go cup).

Marlboro lights while drinking coffee.

It ain’t healthy, but it’s breakfast every Monday through Friday. Weekends I’ll usually cook some eggs or something and skip the smokes.

I planned to have yogurt with berries, but it had gone bad (would have thought best by Aug. 16 would still be okay today), so I had an egg.

Cocoa Puffs + 2% milk
Half of a banana
Cup of Coffee + hazelnut creamer
4 miniature sausalito pepperidge farm cookies + glass of milk

That’s actually a pretty big breakfast for me. Usually, it’s just coffee/creamer and a cigarette.

Same thing I eat every day: One container of Yoplait Light yogurt, one Quaker Chewy lowfat granola bar. And two cups of coffee.

The usual: two pieces of sprouted, 20 whole grain bread, lightly toasted, natural peanut butter and a cup of hot tea.

Mmmmm. Whole grain toast with peanut butter! One of my favorite snacks!

A slice of homemade zucchini bread with light cream cheese and a glass of chocolate soy milk. I don’t really have a usual breakfast. I’m not a morning person, so I often wait and eat later in the morning or, if I wake up hungry, I’ll have whatever doesn’t sound too nauseating. I’m big on comfort food for breakfast.

My favorite breakfast is one we go out for–usually a ham, egg and cheese scramble with hash browns, toast and OJ. Best served after 11am.

I had a bowl of Cranberry Almond Crunch with 2% milk. I also had a slice of breakfast bread, which bread with dried fruit and nuts. Oh and a half a can of Coke Zero.

This morning I scrambled a couple of eggs, grated some Gruyere into them and had some toast. I realized I’ve been missing protein in the morning, hence the eggs.

Typical breakfast is either a bowl of instant oats (if I’m running sort of short on time) or steel-cut oats if I have the time.
Favorite breakfast - bacon, eggs over easy (cooked in the fat from the bacon), homemade biscuits and orange juice.

I very rarely have the last now, because I haven’t found anyplace around here that cooks it to my liking and living by myself, the motivation isn’t there often to make it for myself.

I just had mine. It was the usual. Sultana bran with low-fat milk. Then a crumpet with vegemite, some orange juice and a mandarine.

Mediterranean salad (from which I had to toss the mandarin orange segments because it is my stolid belief that fruit has no place in greenery) with savory balsamic vinaigrette.

Yum.

One cereal bar, (I forget what brand, but it was strawberry), one banana, one apple, about 1 1/2 cups honey-nut Cheerios with 2% milk and a cup of coffee.
That’s my usual.

My favorite would be eggs over medium, hash browns, extra crispy bacon, biscuits & gravy, milk & coffee.

Ah well that’s buggered that then.

I can’t stand tea, even the smell makes me feel queasy.

There is not a single leaf of tea in my humble abode, so it’s coffee…strong black and bitter…or nuffink :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s a crumpet, exactly?

Every morning it’s the same for me. Flavored instant oatmeal (130-150 calories) and a strong cup of tea. That usually holds me until my “morning snack” at 10:00 AM. On Friday mornings I have an onion bagel with no cream cheese… yes I’m on a diet.

This morning, for me, it was whole wheat toast, buttered, covered with some leftover creamed chipped beef. Yum.

I generally try to use up the leftovers, whether they go together or not. :dubious: Today it was a baked potato, cut into pieces and covered with the last of the shrimp etouffee sauce. Pretty good.

If there aren’t any leftovers, I scramble up some eggs and try to find something interesting to mix with them. I recently started buying cage-free eggs. $2.89 a carton, when the regular ones are about $1.09. Ouch! But at least I don’t feel so guilty about the poor little chickens.

The talk of toast and peanut butter inspired me - today I had a piece of whole wheat toast and low-sugar PB. It was really good.

An english muffin.
