Grilled chicken breast and a salad. I am trying to eat properly these days. Trouble is, there is a huge bag of Doritos (a bag filled with small bags, which are for the kids lunches) singing a sweet siren song to me as I write this.
I ended up having a blueberry bagel and 4 clementines. The weather outside is damp and crappy, which gives me no energy to do anything. Oh, well. I’ll make something tomorrow.
Mediterranean-style grilled chicken salad at LaShish, I forget the exact name. Good though.-
#2 Sonic Burger (it was 99 cent burger night – feed the whole family for $5!). I gave the pickles to my daughter in exchange for a handfull of her tater tots.
I had griddled lamb steak marinaded overnight in onion, lemon juice and oregano, cous-cous cooked in vegetable stock and stewed green beans in tomatoe sauce - it was fantastic! All washed down with a bottle of Castle lager (the greatest lager ever)
Fried chicken, garlic & herb mashed potatoes, and green beans. This was the last chance for the whole family to eat together for a while, so I made a decent meal.
I tried a new recipe for scallops (YUM!) and I steamed some snow peas and marinated some tomato chunks. It was a nice, light meal.
1/2 a tuna sandwich, a handful of tostito (I think that’s what they’re called) chips and chipotle salsa.
Oh, and about a gallon of water, I’d just gotten back from dance class, and forgot to get any water there. (duh!).
I had turkey-and-bean stew with homemade bread, and since a Canadian chain (President’s Choice) has brought back the most amazing flourless chocolate cake, I had some of that, too.
I’m eating more of it for breakfast, with a cup of jasmine tea. I think the ingredients list is chocolate, butter, eggs, sugar. I’m in heaven.
Stewed chicken and dumplings. Basically chicken cooked in broth with celery and onions and oregano and black pepper (some might call it a fricasee, but I add extra liquid so there’s more sauce). Then Jiffy mix dumplings steamed on top.
I have leftovers for lunch! Yum!
LifeonWry gyoza are small Japanese (usually fried) dumplings.
Carne guisada (with potatos) and tortillas.
I hate you people. I had stale potato chips and a pumpkin ale. I’m such a bachelor…
My husband had leftover Fried/Baked breaded chicken breasts, broccoli & cheese and a wee tad of macaroni ‘n’ cheese. I just had mac & cheese.
Tonight, we dine on Pork Roast Supreme, which slow cooked for six hours until my painter turned it off. It will be accompanied by Vegetable/Pasta Medley and mashed potatos. Far fucking out, man!
Crawfish etoufee. Frozen crawfish, probably from China, not as good as real Cajun crawfish, but not bad. made with one of the last green peppers from my garden, and rice. The recipe was from Talk About Good, from Lafayette Lousiana, written before the Cajun fad.
Last night I experimented and made something I call Chicken Dukkah Marsala. Great results! Dukkah seasoning is a combination of roast hazelnuts, sesame seed, coriander, cumin and other spices. Sprinkle some on the chicken, along with a little salt, before dredging in the flour. Then make Chicken Marsala as normal.
Two red hot burritos, loaded with sour cream and a snapple lemon ice tea.
A nice butt for dessert.
The perfect meal.
RUSS’ slim gem and thick battered onion rings with a malted on the side. I can feel my heart working harder already.
I had a few pieces of Smithfield spiral ham, followed by a couple of spoonfuls of Breyer’s Carb Smart chocolate ice cream, both eaten over the sink.
Pretty delicious actually, and no real dishes, which is good, as we have no water right now!
Pav Bhaji (but not with real pav, coz I’m in the States right now).
subtle hint above, to anyone willing to show me where I can get them in US
Chicken herb tortellini, consumed with Qadgop’s ever-so-tasty spaghetti sauce, modified recipe. (ground turkey and chicken broth instead of ground beef and beef broth) Yum yum yum.
