What did you have for dinner?

Latkes, as it’s Hannukah.

Red cabbage cooked with onion, vinegar, wine, apples, and a smoked pork neckbone. Just to kill that kosher thing.

Chicken riblets. Hmmmm chicken really is on everyone’s menu.

A bowl of very thin gruel and some stale crusts that I found some pigeons eating…bastards.

Must have been your paycheck week, hey spogga?

We’re having chicken souvlakis with tomato, lettuce, cheese and chilli/garlic sauce.

My oh my! Chicken is certainly popular around the world, ain’t it?!

Gunslinger made hamburgers on Wednesday, and there were three left over (I’d bought the smallest package of ground chuck I could find and it was still a gihugity). He stuck 'em in the microwave and we had them tonight. It’s funny, I don’t like hamburgers at any restaurant or when my mom makes them, but Gun makes 'em yummy - and all he does is make patties and put garlic salt on 'em, so I don’t know what makes 'em special. Maybe he smushes the meat up really well or something.

A big slab of Buffalo and Yorkshire pudding with gravy, and a nice bottle of Jacob’s Creek Shiraz.

Went for buffet at one of the local Indian restaurants…mmmmm butter chicken…

Starter: duck liver, smoked duck breast and salad
Main course: wild boar with mushrooms, chestunut and chicoree
Desert: espresso and chocolates

Minestrone soup, pasta with marrinara sauce, and broccoli. Why do you ask?

A dish I make by cooking fettuccine, adding frozen peas with pearl onions to the pot with about 5 minutes left on the timer, then draining the mixture before adding canned shrimp, bacon bits, half-and-half, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and black pepper. Prepared it for lunch yesterday, and didn’t quite finish the leftover portion tonight. Also had a glass of Cherry Coke.

Last night was the saddest meal I have had in a long time - I have been on call for my department for the 2 weeks I have been back at work since I was off with the flu. I have done no grocery shopping in 3 weeks (or laundry come to think of it but anyway…)

After getting in at about 9.00pm I had the last 2 slices of bread that I had in the house - one slice with melted cheese and the other with the last scrapings of butter. I really need to do a grocery shop. The good thing is that being single I don’t need to worry about feeding other people. pizza or dinner out for me tonight I think

I went to the market to buy some prawns (after hearing that prices had dropped dramatically because of something to do with the Asian markets and a domestic oversupply) only to find that they were still over $35 a kilo.

So we had deep fried whitebait (@ $5.00 per kilo they are a wonderfully tasty treat…and no waste 'cos you eat them head, guts and all) with chips and cherry-tomato and mint salad.

Last night: herbal tea and toast
Night before: herbal tea and toast
The two nights before that: you guessed it.

Salmonella fucking sucks. My headache yesterday was so bad, I was looking for the shotgun shells. Today feeling much better, however. On the plus side…nah, there ain’t any plus side.

I had to try one of the tamales I bought for christmas eve dinner. Only to see if they’re good, of course, wouldn’t want to be dissappointed on the big night. That one I ate was good, but I may have to try another tomorrow, just to be certain.

Trader Joe’s spicy chicken sausage and stir-fried veggies.
