Sat alone in the park and had hot coffee and a bag of Fisher’s Ice Cream Scoo trail mix (sugar coated marshmallows. Talk about gilding the lily)
Hot & sour soup from a really dingy food court. They do a good one.
A cream quesadilla with sweet pickled red onions, short rib, cheese, and marscapone sauce on top AND a spicy pork burrito from Kogi, the Korean BBQ Taco Truck.
Grilled eggplant on a whole wheat bun with sundried tomato pesto and parmesan, carrots and some pretzels. Oh, and water.
Turkish bread with tandoori chicken, yoghurt and salad.
Bloody Mary. Radishes.
A truly crappy salad from one of my favorite places. I don’t know what they put in their blackening seasoning, but I think they left a salt shaker in it.
One Chicago dog, no relish.
Also some fries. I watched them slice the potato, then fry it.
I won’t lie - this hot-dog place (Just Hot Dogs) would be perfect if they would just use a proper sturdy poppy-seed bun instead of a low-rent grocery-store sponge.
…they’re still pretty good. The dog was perfect, the dressing proper, the price - cheap. The fries-- sublime.
It’s just the hinge bakery-second bun that keeps them from being great.
A New Yorker Bloomer from Pret a Manger and a Coke.
I, for one, salute you.
Finally nuked me some of that chicken broth & quinoa, in a big old pickle jar so it wouldn’t boil over and make a mess of the breakroom microwave. Nuke at 1/2 power for a minute or so, full power for another 30 sec-1 min, then tightly screw on the lid and let it finish cooking while it sat on my desk looking like a jar of weirdness. Stir, re-heat, eat. Nomnomnom - simple, delicious, and one of the healthier things in my diet.
Those mini-cartons of chicken stock from Kitchen Basics are perfect for keeping at my desk for this!
I had a 1/5 of a sandwich leftover from lunch yesterday (hummus + a bunch of veggies) and 2/3 of an apple. I’ll probably have some scrambled eggs and turkey bacon before the gym tonight.
Thinly sliced smoked horse inna bun. With mustard. Also a handful of dolly mixture, and a can of fizzy pear juice.
Store brand chunky New England clam chowder. They were on sale last week for 88¢ each so I bought a couple dozen of them. Good thing I like that shit!
A Cliff bar and the remainder of my Diet Coke from the other day. Hey, someone’s got to be lazy!
A philly cheese steak with fries and gravy and two pints of Harp (bunch of us went to a pub for lunch).
I didn’t have dinner. I was too stuffed.
