What did YOU learn today?

I learned that sleeping in my car for three hours, makes for a very stiff bum.

(and good look Rasa!)

I learned that there is a fine line between cute and cruel.

I also learned that tuataras don’t breed until they are twenty years old.

I also learned that if you spend too much time reading the SDMB it seeps into your subconscious… Mega the Roo, your name came up in a dream! Don’t remember the context, but I remember the words “Mega the Roo!” I meant to post this but didn’t want ya to think I was weird! (Too late now!)

I also learned that Class I mutual funds do not have a load rate for an annual return. Whatever that means.

I learned that imprinting is a process that occurs in development, when the brain is ready to recieve and respond to a specific stimulus, which is anything that illicits a response.

Coo’ huh?

Roses make me happy.

People can make me nervous.

<grumble grumble grumble>

Okay, I learned that I can be jealous of people who are in a financial and domestic position where they can fulfill their dreams.

I learned that the warning, “Don’t try this at home.” REALLY means “Don’t try this at all.”

I learned how to drastically improve the gas mileage of a Ford Expedition.

I learned that my brother could care less about getting an education if it means he has to get out of bed.
GRR

I learned that I tend to telegraph my feints in sixth position and that I need to make them more believable if I am going to be a successful fencer.

I learned that you should kill your taste buds the night before you have a cene-esophiogram done, cause drinking the Barium ‘Milkshake’ they give you is like drinking chalk and curdled milk.

I learned that I cant afford any sixth form college but one… so they ll have to take me… puhleaz god… make them take me!!

O

vidi vici veni!

Well, it took me all day, but I learned that sometimes I DO have the solution!

I learned that reading the SDMB is the best way to pass the time while you’re supposed to be working on your buyer queue.

Heh, thanks dropzone! Unfortunately I am not even close to being in a financial position to fulfill my dream full time, but if I can do archaeology (and get paid for it!) just one day a week that’s cool with me!

I learned that I still can’t post to SDMB from work, unless I keep it to one line or so.

I learned that if you hold on to your dreams and work at them long enough, sometimes one just might come true.

I also learned that waiting for my boss to come back from his conference so I can discuss working 4 days a week or part-time to fulfill said dream SUCKS!

Today I learned that girls can come between even the BEST of friends.

I’ve learned that my physics professor does pro-bono work by testifying as an expert witness in murder cases.

I’ve learned how to use exceptions in C++ (lucky, not that different from Java, which I already knew how to use).

I’ve learned how to relate emf to the resistance and current in a circuit.

And unlike the rest of you, I haven’t learned some great thing about human relations, be it friendships or romance, mainly because I’ve got a severe shortage of both down here in college.

I have also learned that the Admins here have specified that you can only post one message in a 60 second interval. (Wrote and finished two messages at the same time; tried posting one after the other.)

I learned that you should never do karate while wearing a thong.
