What do you listen to?

When you’re having one of those days - you know the type I mean - the ones where nothing goes right. It’s not just a bad hair day, it’s a bad whole-damn-world kinda day - where the SO does something incredibly stupid or insensitive, the kids won’t listen, the boss is giving you a hard time - work sucks…those kinda days.

Me ===> Ugly Kid Joe

“If there’s anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now.”

Those are definitely the worst kind of days… i love to sit in the dark with candles burning and listen to Amanda Marshall

“Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.”

I would go with the version of “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” by The Propellerheads and David Arnold from the latter’s album of James Bond music covers.

Prodigy, until I lost my CD :frowning:

Kid Rock

Harder industrial music.

A Groove of Love(What’s This Thing called Love?) by C and C Music Factory.

Living Color (the band, of course. Not the TV show).

I haven’t done it in a long time, but if I’m feeling especially surly, I’ll bust out some Snoop Dog.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

Crappy day music huh? Usually I listen to the VH1 Divas. Oh wait! That’s the cause of a crappy day! Pink Floyd, Joy Electric, and Stabbing Westward they’ll either pick you up or smack you down. Whichever you choose. Also, I would like to reiterate , VH1 divas make me want to shove a hot poker shaped like Don Knots up my ass!

I just listen to the voices that tell me to burn things. Kidding, more like singeing.

But seriously, I actually throw in classical. Pretty much any composer, but Bolero always seems to do the trick.

Well, shut my mouth. It’s also illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling.

When I’m having a godawful day, I just blast AC/DC and piss the neighbours off at the same time. Why should I be the only one having a crappy day?

It works for me, for some odd reason.

Why should I care about posterity? What’s posterity ever done for me?

There are 2 CDs that never leave my carousel…Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Bob Dylan’s best. Great stuff for when I’m depressed.

Beethoven’s 9th and his Choral Fantasy in C-minor. Very uplifting.

Pink Floyd- The Wall
You know I have had the day from hell if this is on the stereo. This is only if I’m pissed off and intend to stay that way.

To cheer up, all lights off, 4 or 5 candles, and Enigma- “Cross of changes”. Pretty therapeutic, but only if you’re not alone.

Listening to Abbey Road by the Beatles cheers me up every time.

Especially Here Comes the Sun

“Now, Bart, you don’t want to drink beer. That’s for daddies and kids with fake IDs.”

“Chant” by the Benedictine Monks. They calm me. I highly recommend them for those susceptible to Road Rage.

I listen to the inner voice inside me. The one that tells me no matter what happens, or how many times I am let down by life, or how sorry for myself I am feeling, I have choices. I am the only one who can make me happy, and I make a choice to do so.

“Only when he no longer knows what he is doing, does the painter do good
things.” --Edgar Degas

The extended finale of Act II of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro”.

Beethoven’s 6th symphony (Pastorale).

The Beatles, White Album or Rubber Soul.

Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral.

Miles Davis, In a silent way (to calm me down).

There’s a christian ska band called “The Insyderz,” who have put out a couple of discs which amount to church hymns and praise choruses done in “third wave” ska style, which is sort of a cross between heavy metal and r&b. Its great stuff.

“Its fiction, but all the facts are true!”

When I am pissed, I do not choose to genuflect, I prefer the direct approach.

I usually grab something loud and ugly to match my mood.

Slayer, The Germs, Motorhead, Obituary and the like.

Right now I ain’t exactly happy, but I am listening to a pristine Iron Maiden bootleg recorded in NYC in 1982 That’s mellow for me under the circumstances, but I just got it, so…

Yer pal,
Satan

Usually when I’ve had a bad day, I pull out the tape my best friend and I made. It’s our “Bad Old School Ghetto Rap Cruising Tape” and is filled with songs that fit that description.

It’s got: Ice Ice Baby, Baby Got Back, The Right Stuff, Hangin’ Tough, I’m Too Sexy, Rico Suave, Can’t Touch This, Too Legit, and a few other gems.

The music is so terrible that it’s downright amusing, and it can always make me smile.

On those days that piss me off to no end and just make me want to kill somebody, I listen to Chemlab’s East Side Militia, and I feel much better. Of course, I still want to kill somebody, but now I can do it with a smile on my face.

“That’s entertainment!” —Vlad the Impaler

Wow Zeb! If I had any idea what gender you were I’d be in love!

I like to blast Nirvana’s “Smells like Teen Spirit” when I’m angry…I know, very run of the mill.

Also: “I Alone” by Live

If I’m feeling joyful, I like to listen to “Tenderness” by General Public.
