Sure, my parents are two fine physicians, specialists that are well respected, with statistics far above their average peer. They have enough money to live ultra comfortably. They also (see stipulation) always had caregivers for us. But my uncle - who never had children and never married - is boarded in eight different specialties. Eight! He owns a beachfront home and his time is his own. He owns his own life, whereas my parents, by virtue of being parents, had to sacrifice their work life to pick us up at practice or from school or to get glasses or whatever. I love my parents I wouldn’t trade them - well, at least my mom. But to say you can achieve all you can professionally, have more than 1 kid and do right by them? Simply untrue. I know my mother could have been chair at a major hospital. Instead she had 3 kids.
And I’ll bet if you asked the kids of your relatives if they’d have rather spent their time with friends growing up rather than traipsing across the world, they’d have preferred staying put. My mom was raised traipsing about and she loathed it.
I think the director Chrisopher Nolan is hugely overrated. Inception was not nearly as deep or interesting as it was supposed to seem. I think it was a movie for dumb people to see and then feel smart for “getting” it. I also think his Batman movies are trash and that Tim Burton (who I also think is overrated) did a better job.
