What is Diogenes the Cynic's Condition Called

No it isn’t.

Shooting yourself in the face is a lot less painful.

There’s a crass joke here but for some reason I just… don’t seem… to have the energy.

And ultimately less disfiguring, not to mention socially acceptable.

I understand from my studies in anthropology that in some cultures troll-like behavior was rewarded and celebrated for the wise and sagacious benefits it provides. Of course, on average those cultures last approximately 13.2 years before being overrun by other cultures that are capable of maintaining focus and cohesive thought. I have it on good authority that the Great Fire of Rome burned so extensively because the Roman Senate was moribund by trolls who insisted that fire doesn’t burn and then denying that they ever said such a thing except in a very obscure context.

Stranger

What? No, Blu-ray?

You’d think you’d be more grateful after the Emmy Award nomination.

I wouldn’t even use it as a beermat.

Are we talking about me riding Guin’s bra strap being on DVD?? Or the Dio show. I’m confused. But if there is a DVD of me riding Guin’s bra strap, I better not see buckety sitting his beer on it.

That’s not for you to say.

Sort of want!:dubious:

Oh, um.

I took ‘strap’ to mean ‘strap-on.’

No wonder I’ve been enjoying my imaginary DVD a lot more than other people.

I didn’t say that he was an idiot. I said he should be given as much credance as a mentally retarded person.

Playing the ‘coy innocent’ game is richly rewarded in our society, where most people aren’t really that bright and have an extreme aversion to negative emotions, which they are taught from birth are ‘wrong’. So they see one party being the wide eyed innocent and the other party being angry, and they side with the innocent party because anger is wrong (or so they believe and feel).

So Dio is just playing a game that he has very probably perfected in his real life, and has been richly rewarded for doing. Behavior that is rewarded is repeated. Hell, he probably takes great pride in being able to undermine others by playing the game to the point of making them lose their cool, at which point they are the ones that are discredited, not him. Most people who play these kinds of social games think themselves very clever in their ability to manipulate others and will often go out of their way to create new situations in which they can experience the “reward” of “winning” by unbalancing their opponents.

Oh. Ok. I just say that when I’m gushing over a girl too much. I didn’t mean riding her strap-on! Not that I doubt Guin can handle a large black woman in the bedroom. I’m sure she can. But that’s not what I meant.

Yes you would.

He never said he wouldn’t.

(Besides Dio, MOL has this game the best. She is a pro at it.)

And he would have won it, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids from Glee.

He has been told to knock if off once in a while.

Well, looks like you were correct.

I was about the only person over the last three pages NOT to refer to Dio as a jerkoff or a troll, and to actually try to address his arguments, and apparently that means that i’m about the only person he isn’t interested in responding to.

C’est la vie.

& a big thumbs up to **Czarcasm **in the first thread.

Full disclosure, Czar was arguing *his own case *when he made that mod note. Which always seem a bit shady to me when I see mods do it, but who cares. Still a great mod note.
