But she hasn’t told me her name yet… What will it be?
She’s 4 or 5 months old, and is the world’s most friendly pet. She sticks to me-- She doesn’t like to be separated from me (or any other human) at all.
She sits on my lap, on my shoulders (and on my head!) non-stop, for hours at a time, and purrs most of the time. When I put her down on the floor, she looks up at me, makes a tiny, squeaky mew, and follows me around the house till I pick her up again. (or until she discovers her favorite toy: an empty box that she sneeks up on secretly, stalks, and then pounces on as if she’s never seen it before, even though she’s chewed half of it away already, in the week I’ve had her.)
She ain’t the most beautiful putty-tat in the world. Her snout is a little too long, and her eyes are too yellow. So she isn’t really cute…just loveable. And she loves sitting on my lap
I thought of calling her Piccolo, because of her high-pitched mew.But that sounds silly.
I thought of calling her something regal, like Sheba, or one of the Greek gods. But she’s not an elite, royal cat–she’s a floppy, huggy cat.
I thought of calling her Cinnamon, but she’s not quite the right color.
Actually, I think her face is quite beautifully proportioned. (Yes! You is a pretty pretty girl!)
I tend to like people names on animals. I don’t have much time to search baby name sites at work, but in my first attempt, I got two names related to orangeness:
Whenever I see your user name I think it’s Chupacabra. I think you should name the kitty that even if it doesn’t fit her personality. Imagine how much fun it will be to ask visitors if they want to see your Chupacabra. You could even get her a little stuffed toy goat to play with.
I always thought if I got a cat I would name it Doctor Bryan.
Ever since I saw the episode of Bob Newhart where he hires a replacement for Carol and she keeps calling him Dr. Bryan even though he corrects her a few dozen time I wanted to name a cat that.
well…I had to google Chuapcabra to figure out what you were talking about. Wow, that’s weird, weird…
(and my username is actually the name of my first cat. I thought about naming ms. newkitty ‘chappachula’, too. But she’s totally different than the cat I had for 14 years… fond memories )
She’s an absolutely gorgeous kitty! Her golden eyes suit her colouring. Sheba suits her, as does Amber. She might not act regal, but she looks like royalty.
I’ve never posted before without reading all the other replies first, but I needed to say something before my perception gets touched by some other suggestion. I distinctly heard her say, “Dorothy, Dahling. Dot for short.”
Then again, I have a beta fish named “Steve” so what do I know?
I wanted to add that I think she’s beautiful. Her facial proportions are very exotic. Sort of East Indian in nature.
I had an orange kitty named “Marmalade” when I was a kid. Totally loveable cat…who clawed the furniture to shreds. Only cat my folks ever gave away to someone. Broke my heart into a million pieces. I’ve not given away any animal that comes to me since.
