One of the best vanilla-y scents is one by a company called Demeter. They are famous for making weird scents: tomato, rubber, gin&tonic, cigar, dirt… It’s endless!
The scents really do smell like what they are supposed to smell like and not chemically smelling.
They have one called Madeleine - the vanilla cookie. I don’t wear it much because it makes me hungry!
If I’m by myself, I like L’air Du Temps, Sung, and almost everything Escada puts out in the summer. In winter, I wear Joy exclusively, because the Divemaster is allergic to everything BUT Joy.
I can’t wear anything else around him, and Joy is far too heavy to wear in warm months, so I go without perfume when we’re together during the summer.
It’s light, but spicy with hints of bergamot and chocolate, and it’s sexy as hell. Random men sniff me and ask what it is if I wear it during the daytime.
Normal daytime stuff is usually from fresh. It’s not very oily/perfumey and very light. I love their Sugar scent as well as Cannabis Rose. http://www.fresh.com/fragrance/
I love Cool Water too, but it’s my daughter’s scent, so I don’t wear it. Is that odd?
I love Pavlova but can’t find it anywhere. I used to collect mini perfumes for the bottles, and the stopper on the Pavlova bottle is a ballerina doing that dying swan thing. It has a clean scent, like Ivory soap.
When I wear scent, I wear Ysatis. It’s a bit heavy, so I do that thing where you spray the air and walk into it.
My daily is D&G #11 (La Force). For special occasions, I like Bvlgari Green Tea. I actually got it to wear for my wife who is a huge Stephanie Plum fan and discovered that I really like it.
Obsession was one of the first ones I ever got. When I took my first whiff, I could practically hear its molecules snapping right into my receptors, and took that as an indication that it went with me well. It’s heavy, sweet, and very animalistic. Good for wearing to dance parties with live punk rock bands playing. I rarely use it any more—still on my first bottle of eau de parfum!
