What is your favorite potato chip?

Add another vote for Utz chips. They’re the best.

These:

Lay’s doesn’t make them any more. I miss them. :frowning:

Utz are good, but I have to give a shout out to Wise. They are cut foil thin, fried until they’re just on this side of burnt, and salted until a cardiologist faints. Man, they’re good.

Don’t even get me started un Cheez-Doodles.

Back when I lived in Chicago I fell in love with Jay’s Potato Chips. Too bad we can’t get them here in Cleveland, so I have to make due with Lay’s Wavy chips.

With dip (Dean’s French Onion), it would have to be Jay’s Curly Dippettes. Without dip, um, Lay’s Regular or Sour Cream and Onion? Or BBQ - BBQ is ok as long as it isn’t too hot…

zamboniracer, order 'em online!

Golden Flake has a Dill Pickle flavored potato chip that does weird things to my mouth. I also like Ruffles.

But I’ve moved from potato chips to Bold Party Mix Chex Mix or Gardetto’s Snak-ens.

I still like occasional original flavor Fritos, too.

Since childhood, I’ve loved Krunchers Mesquite. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Another vote here for Grandma Utz’s Handcooked Chips (the ones in the brown bag) as the best unflavored chips on the planet.

For flavored chips, there are so many good ones it’s hard to choose. But I guess my favorites would have to be:

Gibbles Sour Cream and Onion. Used to get them in college and at home about 20 years ago, but no store in South Jersey carries them anymore (somebody prove me wrong, PLEASE).

Herr’s Old Bay Chips or Utz Crab Chips.

Wise Barbecue Chips (the original kind, not the new honey BBQ). Unlike any BBQ chip out there.

Wise Onion and Garlic Chips.

Kettle ripple chips with sea salt and ground pepper.

Cape Cod reduced fat chips.

Tim’s Cascade plain.

I really hate flavored chips.

Herr’s ketchup flavored potato chips. So hard to find, which is just as well because I can inhale a whole bag in one sitting.

Utz-wise, I like their barbecue flavored corn chips – they’re sweeter than most other barbecue chips and the contrast in sweet/salty/barbecue flavors is quite good.

It’s a toss up between Cheddar Beer Kettle Chips and Lay’s Limon (which only comes in the medium size bag here). I got my 89 year-old Grandma hooked on those lime chips. She’ll scarf the whole bag in one sitting, all the while telling me that I’m trying to “fatten her up.” Go ahead Grandma, you only weigh 108 pounds…

Gotta second this.

Real flavor, not just grease.
Tasty.

I love Dirty Potato Chips but I have a hard time finding them.

Two others that I like are Granite State Potato Chips and Utz gourmet blend. They are a kettle-cooked mix of Utz regular chips, lightly salted russets, blue potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Sadly, I can’t buy any of these chips around here.

Pringles are pretty good.

Another big UTZ fan, here.

My favorite combo is their ripple chips with UTZ sour cream and onion dip.

For eating plain, I love their “no salt” chips – I haven’t seen any other brand of unsalted chip in either of my main grocery stores.

Their wavy cheddar and sour cream chips are also very nice for an occasional treat.

Poore Brothers–especially the jalapeno.

Cape Cod or Poore Brothers, Salt and Vinegar flavor.

Personally, I’m a fan of Lay’s Stax, Sour Cream and Onion. Just the right level of crunch and flavoring for my tastes and the tube means fewer broken chips than a bag would often yield. Perfect.

Hostess or Humpty Dumpty: ketchup, dill pickle, or all dressed flavours, very probably because I can’t get them anymore.

Lays Salt and Vinegar chips are solely responsible for the 10 lbs I’ve gained in the last 6 months. I have a salty monkey on my back.
