OP’s, Of all the threads you’ve started, which is the most popular…and were you surprised? Ashamed for mankind? Embarassed? Proud?
mine was this one about the ipod. I ended up giving a lot of advertising to a product /brand I dislike. So ironic. I was a bit surprised at the turn out.
I haven’t started many threads here. The longest one wasthis
one, asking about first encounters with things that are now commonplace. Only two pages but over 2500 views. I wasn’t expecting that.
Greatest number of replies: A round of the movie game, with over 2,000. Not sure I deserve credit for that; we were playing this quite a bit then and I just happened to be the person who started that round.
Number of views: Brokeback Mountain, with over 12,000; that movie game thread, with almost 10,000; followed by the provocatively named Boobies! Boobies! Boobies! with almost 6600. (Hmph. You’d think that would have done better. )
My Henchpersons recruitment thread is still alive and kicking after about 2 weeks, and it actually spawned a “Superhero Recruitment” thread. My only regret is that I didn’t have more time to nurture it last week, as I was planning a business trip on very short notice.
My “Ask the 50s Dad” thread was a lot of fun, too, and that one spawned a couple “child” threads, too (in a manner of speaking).
Sorry I can’t link 'em, but I’m posting from my Blackberry (makes it a pain to do certain things).
I remember checking it one day and being surprised that it had gone multiple pages. I read through it the other day and was amused to read Batsinma Belfry’sresponse considering that she changed her username shortly after she posted that reply.
Just on posts/views, my most “popular” thread was this pitting that evolved out of another, equally long and stupid pit thread. About food. 360 posts and over ten thousand views. For a thread about people yelling at each other about food. We’re a bunch of wierdos on this board.
Of course, being a pitting, I figure about half the people reading or posting to that thread were doing so just because they thought the thread (or myself) were totally stupid, so I don’t know if you can call that “popular.” The thread that got the biggest positive response was If clues were WMDs, I’d be Iraq. And by positive response, I don’t just mean that people liked the OP: I actually got a date out of that thread!
