For reasons I don’t recall, I became so enamored with this song as a wee lad that I memorized the lyrics. Perhaps because it was seem to be a rather cryptic story that only Cecil could figure out and he was not around. When I met Ms. DrumBum I found out that she liked it as well, no doubt influenced by an older sibling. We sang it - several times, if memory serves - at our wedding reception at the world famous Elbo Room, joined by patrons just as drunk as we were.
It is on my iPhone and we still sing along when it comes up.

I absentmindedly started singing it to her on a starry nighttime walk in the park and she got all wobbly! Now I cue it up on her iPod to play as the alarm for her birthday and our anniversary.
