What Makes Your Week - a because-I-was-awake MMP

CP, teachers is dumb. Okay, not all teachers, but a lot of them. I worked for the University of Oregon for a while, so I got to experience it first hand. Even our darling daughter, the middle-school math teacher, tends to fall back on emotional rhetoric instead of logic and facts when challenged. I think it’s like they get divorced from the real world somehow. I’ve never seen so many people, outside of politics, who thought that the world should conform to the way they thought it should be.

Enough of that.

Sorry for Gnat’s troubles LiLi. It’s especially hard on little guys who don’t really understand yet why we care what they eat and when, and have to stick their fingers and test their blood and such. Hang in there. It will get better as he gets older and can help monitor himself.

I’m glad Bin Laden is dead too. If they had captured him alive there’d be a rash of assholes taking hostages to try to get him back. I’m sorry they threw him overboard at sea however. I’d much rather they’d exhibited his body for a while to show that “See, he’s really dead!”

Wade A. Minit, Swampy, I had a Panama hat! I liked it! **Wifey ** made he get rid of it when it got too grungy to be seen in public is all.

As to the OP, I don’t really look forward to any particular day of the week. I do kinda like Sundays more 'cause Wifey and I both get to sleep in and we can cuddle under the covers a bit before we get up, but other than that, one day is the same as any other. I always have something that needs doing. Today I need to mow the lawn and get an order ready for a local Bed & Breakfast.

My life is even more exciting that Mooooom’s. :stuck_out_tongue:

Afternoon, all! Well, I suppose technically it’s evening since it’s gone 6pm here. I’m just idling time away before I have to go and pick up my friend and head to Fat Club. Since I’ve been off the plan for two weeks and spent a week of that in the Land of Beer and Lard, I am not expecting the scales to say anything nice to me. My bathroom scales have veered between grumbles, rudeness and downright insulting. Today was definitely on the insulting side.

We won’t be staying for the class, she has stuff to do at home and I have promised myself a long soaky bath and an early night. 'im indoors didn’t check his alarm on the phone when we came back from the Land of Beer and Lard, thinking it would automatically re-set to UK time. It did, but it forget about British Summer Time and instead of a 5.30am wake-up, I was rudely turfed out of my dreams at 4.30am but it took him half an hour to work out that it wasn’t the time it was supposed to be. So he grumbled and complained, then got back into bed and re-set the alarm for 5.40am when he got up, ran the shower etc…and left the house at 6am. No chance of me going back to sleep so I dozed for a while and got up much earlier than should reasonably be expected on one’s first day back at work this week.

When we’re done poking Taxi’s employer with my pointiest pointy stick of doom, I shall be laying into a certain phone with it. I is tahred.

And there’s only one roll of TP left in the house, and I’m not due to go to the grocery store until Thursday. Better keep your fingers crossed for two days of gastric security!

can’t typ-prrrrrrrrrrrin kittrh onsholdr

If someone get prescribed medicinal marijuana, do they also get a prescription for medicinal Twinkies?

**CatDude **- you crack me up!

**BooFae **- beware the wrath of swampy!!!

Hi all - I’m home. And tired. meh.

Sketties for supper tonight. That’s all. No more.

CP, sounds like you have a great Kiddo!

CatDood Can I get this Pink Floyd CD covered under my insurance as a Medical accessory?

Just ate lunch, now for cleaning. Sorta.
(Oh yes, the other thing I look forward to weekly is Desparate Housewives/Brothers and Sisters night, which is going away soon for the summer… WAHHHHHHHHH!)

rosie’s sig to all…

CP: People like this are teachers and I can’t even find a desk job at a community college.

I have my own theory on teachers like that. Teaching over the last forty years or so has recruited idealists, kids who want to change the world and make everyone’s lives all rainbows and buttercups! What they don’t realize is that you can’t do that. Your job isn’t to make their lives better through education, your job is to teach them to learn. That’s not idealism, that’s practicality. Practical people aren’t recruited into teaching (one of the reasons why I didn’t stay in public schools). The profession itself over time has adapted to the idealists which further isolates the practical people. Then you have stupid government policies which advocate teaching factoids instead of teaching how to learn.

Rantishness over. In other news, Culinary Boy got a job at the local gas station/awesome grill that caters to locals! He starts tomorrow. I expect him to bring home more awesome sandwiches like the Cubans we had yesterday.

Training class is over. I had to be there until 1630, dammit.

But now, it’s quit o’clock!

Swampy, tissue lame (actually lame’ or something with a French accent) is thin metallic fabric that is slithery and actually comes apart by itself if you don’t watch it every second. It’s the kind of fabric you see on prom dresses, Lady Gaga, and Prince. It doesn’t like to be sewed on.

Back from vacation. I’m sure the Dope would be blocked if I tried to access it. IT does monitor closely, so I use my blackberry.

I forgot I had an errand to run this afternoon and took a lunch break. Now I have to go back out before my co-worker takes off for the day.

Ruble you fashion plate you!

:dubious: Must I lecture?

We swiped the general’s dindin cause I didn’t wanna cook. Thus I have a pot roast doin’ it’s thang in the slow cooker for tomorrow and possibly Thursday.

Other than that, I got nuttin’.

Later Y’all!

ETA: First on two!

Apparently, I’m not hungry tonight. I had a few crackers for supper.

Your kiddo sounds great, CP.

How’d the rest of your vacation go, Shadow?

::waves at taxi::

Gotta put a document together for plant-shopping tomorrow. Guess I should get moving, huh?

Hugs.

GT

Yay!

Starting the latest Jasper Fforde! No one spoil it for me.

Blurf. That is all.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis a kinda chilly 56 Amurrkin out with a high of 77 today. This is more like Fall than Spring. We have a “cool front” movin’ through. It is a good ten degrees cooler than yesterday.

CatDude I’ll spoiler this so you don’t have to look…

Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with the candlestick

You looked anyway didn’t ya? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t have to go in until around ten this mornin’ so I’m not. I shall instead finish up some laundry which is launderin’ away as I post. Go Me!

Now I shall seek more caffiene and feed rumbly tummy.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Good morning all; up and caffeinating here. I’ve also had some strawberry oatmeal so I’m good to go. BTW, what’s up with the “bookmarks” at the bottom of the page? Is anyone else getting that? Did I miss something? (Entirely possible!)

Today is the 3rd anniversary of my quitting smoking! Yay for me! LOL Seriously, though, if anyone needs encouragement to quit, feel free to PM me and I’ll provide support and tips.

Happy hump day all.

When I posted that, I had not a clue of how much blurf was within me today. Turns out that when I went to the office kitchen to make my brekkies, I nuked the cottage cheese I brought for lunch instead of my scrambled eggs. :smack:

I killded the thread… :frowning:

I reviveded it!

Nah, it’s not dead, Bobbio. It’s just resting its eyes.

Back here at the insane asylum. God, I so wanted to just call in today, but I didn’t.

I don’t even want to think about nuked cottage cheese…ugh.

I think the temps are supposed to get up to 64 today. Then the rain comes back and will last through Monday. Such lovely weather; if you belong to the Addams Family.
