I gotta ask: did y’all make FCDau take Cozmo with her when she moved out? Having her deal with a hyper pug on her own may well be the best revenge in this case…

Happy Mother’s Day!
We had a very fun day yesterday at the fundraiser. Between the auction and the bbq plates, they probably raised about $4000! Plus the actual items for distribution that were donated.
FCM, you have the strangest dreams!
It’s her dog, not ours, and yes, he and her cat will be going. This whole process will drag out all month…
Who sang that awful song - “Havin my Baby”?
Bobbio -Kinky Pictures
I’ve got the downstairs just about squared away. Basically, I just need to put away my cleaning supplies and rewipe my kitchen counters.
I called my mother to wish her a happy mother’s day. She’s at my sister’s place and has been there all weekend. She went into her litany of health issues again and is disappointed we’re not coming out to my sister’s place. First, we weren’t invited; and second, we’ve got people coming here.
I am worried about my mother. She’s dropped over twenty pounds in the space of a month and is having severe issues with her ummm, back end. There isn’t just the normal stuff coming out. She’s going for another colonoscopy on Wednesday. I really hope they can figure out what’s going on with her. To be fair to her, her life has been pure suckage these past few months.
So, I understand she’s scared and worried. I really do; but it’s ALL she ever talks about. Sigh…sorry about that.
At any rate, hubby is out getting the fixings for the dinner he’s making the rest of us today. It’ll be nice to not have to cook and I’m very appreciative of that fact.
I should shower so I look presentable when everyone comes over. I mean, I guess that would be the nice thing to do, right?
That was Paul Anka. :vomits:
Thank You Scruffy! I have no desire to be a baby daddy. At all. Period. Ick.
However, maybe your dream was really about the fact that YP and wife are having a baby and it’s down to the could be anytime wire now. Well, it happened. At twelve-thirty p.m. today, Mother’s Day! Baby Ella made her entrance weighin’ in at 6 lbs. 15 oz. Much rejoicin’ abounds! So, since we’ve all been claimin’ Baby Ella as “our” baby, your dream sorta kinda came true.
Or sump’n like that.
Ok, Howdy Y’all! I’s back at da cave. OYKW will make his appearance back in the real world tomorrow. He considered drivin’ back this evenin’ but said he ate a huuuuuuuuuuge lunch and was worried about gettin’ sleepified. I told him that I did not want him sleep drivin’. Thus he will head on back in the mornin’.
I had a great time with my mom and sis. Yesterday I trimmed bushes and cleared out a bunch of fallen limbs in mom’s yard. I took a load of limbs to the county dump. I also cleaned off my dad’s and my younger brother’s grave markers. I learned that WD-40 is just the thing for that. Made ‘em all nice and shiny! Mom made a nummy lunch of chikin ‘n rice, green beans, cornbread and apple pie. Last night I went with sis, BIL, niece and her fiance (I guess that’s what he is) to a nummy Mexican restaurant and then back to sis’s for some beerverages and doggie attacks. Seriously. Five dogs who were all “Pet me first! No pet me first! No! Me first!” The two cats, as usual, snubbed me. This mornin’ it was church with mom and then lunch at a nummy buffet place called Fried Tomato Buffet. It’s southern cookin’ needless to say. So I got a full tummy then drove back home and here I am!
Ye olde hometowne has been visited with a plague. Well, actually a pestilence, I suppose. The Thirteen Year Cicada. Bazillions of ‘em! They make a noise that sounds like a buncha diesel engines idlin’. Plus they are uuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggglllllllly!!! I saw some matin’ whilst I was trimmin’ bushes yesterday. I mentioned that there’s a Motel 6 just a couple of miles away but they didn’t take the hint.
So, what’s up with y’all?
Word.
Sorry about your Mom Taters. I hope the docs can fix her up straight away.
Wifey just told me I should call my Mother and wish her a happy Mother’s Day.
I told her I sent her a card.
She gave me ‘the look’.
BTW, I made her (Wifey), brekkies today, but that’s not really unusual. I like to cook.
Daughter and family are coming here for dinner. We’re cooking a pork roast and home-made applesauce, plus roasted veg. The kids are bringing dessert. It’s going to be pineapple and strawberries on skewers drizzled with chocolate. It was the grandkids’ idea.
So, Happy Mothers’ Day alla you mothers.
**Mr. Taters **made a nice dinner for all of us and there was Chocolate Silk and Banana cream pie. I chose chocolate, of course!
I made a tossed salad to accompany the dinner; which was Chicken Casserole Del Sol. He found the recipe on the internet and decided to make that because there were supposed to be a large group of people here.
In the end, it was me, the hubby, my MiL, my son, my daughter and her sweetie. K’s (that’s my daughter’s sweetie), is under going treatment for cancer again and it’s kicking her butt. We had no idea, but she only found out about two weeks ago. This is round three for her.
K’s friend was also supposed to come down, but he decided to stay home back at K’s and my daughter’s place to relax. I can’t blame him.
Mr. Taters gave me a dozen red roses and a new book to read. That was a nice surprise!
My daughter gave me some extra dark chocolate Lindt truffles and a bar Intense Dark (Ghirardelli).
All in all, it was a nice day. Now I can totally relax before I have to head back to the salt mines tomorrow.
I am glad we don’t have that cicada thing happen up here. I don’t think I’d like it much…at all.
Forgot to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day when I stopped by earlier, so:
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
to all of you who celebrate. I called Mom in the afternoon and chatted for a while.
Sorry about your mom, Taters. Hope they figure it out very soon.
I spent four hours in the garden, weeding, moving plants around and mulching. I still have a bunch to do, but I feel very accomplished.
Also went for a walk and chatted with brother, who is making a special appearance this week (he was gone all weekend and will be gone most of the week).
Well…it’s time for bed. Think I’ll knit a bit and watch something online while I get sleepy.
See everyone in the next MMP…
