What PC Games should be remade?

While that could work for 4x games, I think the quality of games has improved and changed so much that strong elements of the old games can and should be retained, but a straight remake would be horrible.

Finally, Mail Order Monsters, a great game where you had to build and customize a monster and then have it go fight another monster (or try to repel the HORDE). It had its flaws, but it was still very cool, at least until you got to Sluggo.

An updated version of this with online PvP support would be all sorts of awesome.

And I hated Sluggo :mad:

Colonization was AWESOME! I actually played a full game less than two weeks ago, just because it’s THAT good. If that game was remade with better graphics and nothing else, i’d spend 40-50 bucks on it easy.

I never got around to playing TIE fighter, but the old X-wing game that preceded it was hands down the best combat flight sim I ever played, and I never played it until 2003 or so. Crappy graphics redone, that would be about the best thing I can imagine, especially if you added in even more little ways to tweak your ship.

I thought immediately of X-Wing and TIE fighter. I’ve tried newer Star Wars games, like Rogue Squadron on the GC, and they all lack a certain depth the PC game had.

I miss the old Sierra adventure games. Especially these, because they were hilarious and had just a hint of RPG in there.

Yeah, I still break it out once or twice a year. The thing hasn’t left my hard drives since… what, 1994? I think I still have the 3.5-inch floppies.

They’ve just released a fully updated remake of the first Tomb Raider, called Anniversary. It’s using the newest engine, with all its updates and high res graphics, but still following the basic plot and (expanded) locations of the original game, and with new versions of the old music.

Unfortunately for me, they’ve also changed the way you make Lara move, the keyboard map is completely different, even after remapping, making it more like other FPS games. I hate the change there, I can’t play it without experiencing enormous frustration.
