What superhero or superhero team would you LIKE to see get a movie?

“The Adventures of Jaws.”

So who could play the role of the Richard Kiel character?

You’d also need him getting his butt kicked by Lady Shiva. Pretty great to have a villain’s henchwoman nearly kill you, then revive you and send you off for fight training because she saw a spark of talent in your patheticness.

The issue where he’s buried up to his neck and left for days is one of my favorites and would make a great episode.

Bumping this because last night I discovered the documentary Future Shock! The Story of 2000AD!

I was surprised by how much of this thread centered on 2000AD characters, so perhaps I’m the only one late to the game with this 2014 release.

I thought it was excellent. Prolly not of much interest to anyone who isn’t a fan already as there isn’t any drama, no story arc of conflict or loss or woe. It’s just a bunch of interviews.

I mean, they seem to have gotten everyone involved and there’s some great commentary from Ian Scott (guitarist from Anthrax) who kind of represents the American viewpoint (and what he says throughout isn’t much different from what I would have said, so I thought it was cool to have him there). Pat Mills, John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra, Neil Gaiman, Alan Grant, Dave Gibbons… they got everyone.

I loved hearing about the early days and how Judge Dredd was created, about Nemesis the Warlock (one of my favorites). I thought it was great that they so clearly were punk as fuck and understood that (in relation to the music, the scene and the ethos). (The metal soundtrack to the film is great too!)

All in, I had a fantastic couple of hours watching this film and I wanted to make sure that anyone else who might be interested heard about it as well.

It’s free to watch with Amazon Prime, btw.

Phase II could star Richard Branson as himself!

“Cling tenaciously to my buttocks!”

The character I most want to see is Doreen Green, (the Unbeatable) Squirrel Girl. She will, in fact, be featured as part of the upcoming New Warriors series. Squirrel Girl is an absolute delight and is, in fact, unbeatable, mostly because of a combination of smarts, squirrel-like acrobatics, and empathy.

Seconded.

I think the old JSA, set in WWI vs Nazis would work very well.

And if they wanted to incorporate it into the DC extended universe movies, they could have Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman join the group…though presumably she won’t be content to just be the secretary.

Hardly " just be the secretary" she was one of the most powerful members. Yes, for a time she was “only” the secretary but that was due to the fact she had her own comic. Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, and Batman were also mostly excluded.

Well this is happening. Kinda. Sorta. If you squint right.

Just wanted to poke gentle fun at the OP. Ya think so, huh?

At a glance through the thread, some predictions that came true either in a movie or television show.

And Ms. Marvel is on it’s way.

I’m still waiting for my good Conan the Barbarian movie or show. So far the movie that’s the most faithful to Robert E, Howard’s hero is The Sword and the Sorcerer, which isn’t even a Conan movie, but which stole its best moments directly from Howard stories.

Interesting. What’s your opinion of the Arnold films?

Interesting.But not Conan

See my comment from a few years ago above:

Arnold looks like Conan, but, by Crom, he doesn’t act like him.

Ladies and gentlemen, for your cinematic enjoyment…

(and this movie would come with eight spots at which you can head out to the loo, because not much is happening)

Stargirl is mentioned upthread, too.

And in the spirit of the thread, I’ll go with Excalibur. They can just stick Kit Harrington in there since he’s already shown up.

Another vote for The Inferior Five.

Although the protagonists had no “superhero powers”, I’d like to see Challengers of the Unknown with updated stories. Anyway, what a GREAT title.

Metal Men - the earlier ones where they LOOKED like robots.
