Defend what? There’s nothing to defend because no argument has been brought up. If the white folks want me out, get your mods to kick me the fuck out. The crux of the argument I am getting is that I am not beginning each sentence with the phrase "With all due respect . . . " or “Massa, I beg your pardon”. The crux of what I am seeing is the following:
The nigger is hurting my feelings. He talked bad about the white race.
The nigger is making us white liberals look bad, because the nigger’s posts gives “credence to the white persecution fantasy”
The nigger is ablelist because he uses autism as a pejorative for white folks who lack cognitive empathy.
The nigger is really a white man trolling the board as a nigger. (Thisoneis my favorite because this one keeps coming up. Wonder why)
The nigger writes long posts that are too long and too wordy
5a. The nigger posts are unreadable block of texts
5b. The nigger’s personal experience with racism does not reflect reality and “subjective, selective, and filtered through a vast array of cognitive biases”
5c. The nigger’s lived experience is the “worst form of evidence for anything”.
6a. The nigger is uneducated.
6b. The nigger is an undergraduate
6c. The nigger will fail (or is failing) in his studies
The nigger is old.
The nigger is young
The nigger is angry
The nigger is wimpy
The nigger is an asshole
The nigger shouldn’t call out our beloved Grand Dragon Shodan for using his imported children as props against people of color.
The nigger is “indicted” as a bad person because a white liberal (who we don’t like) supports you.
I’ll stop at #13, because Ms. Daze is being selective. In that thread, I pointed out that my theory was cobbled together, in part, due to studies showing inbred of mouse strains that have autistic behaviors.I also pointed out that Somali immigrants have high rates of autism; further, I pointed out that it is documented that Somalians practice inbreeding due to religious reasons. I went ahead and also pointed out that Somalian rates of autism is higher than white folks much lower than people of color as a whole. Taken together, it is my opinion (and I am not forcing it upon anyone) that autism is due, in part, to inbreeding.
And, because the OP eats Grand Dragon Shodan’s bullshit. I’ll use the same tack: I can’t possibly ableist because I have an adopted child who is disabled, and I can bad-mouth people who have autism because I have friends and family members who are autistic. These two statements are deliberate lies, but because white folks can’t tell fact from virtue signaling, I’ll let the lie sit there.
I frankly don’t give the smallest rat’s ass how I appear to you. I hold those “decent and civilized black people” (dude, seriously?) to the same standard I hold every human. Like f’rinstance:
I totally understand and respect the fear and anger that results in racist and blinkered posts like this, even when I find it detestable. When it comes to lived experience and emotion, I do my godamndest to “shut up and listen,” without immediately undercutting that with “ok, now here’s where you’re wrong.”
octopus is an asshole. So is Huey. So am I. Asshole is part of the human condition.
You’ve linked to a bunch of papers that use inbred strains as autism models. In animal model experiments, an “inbred strain” just means a mouse line with a known and consistent genetic background, so that all experimental mice are genetically identical. That’s required when you wish to perform rigorous controlled experiments without being confounded by naturally-arising genetic diversity.
So none of those papers show what you think they show. None of those papers suggests (or even remotely implies) that inbreeding per se is causing the autistic symptoms in these mouse models.
Inbreeding may contribute to a high incidence of autism in a human subpopulation if there are specific recessive loci associated with autism with high frequency in that subpopulation. None of those papers addresses that question.
We’re agreed that our first inclination should be to shut up and listen. But unless you deny that it’s even possible for a black person to simply be a nasty toxic asshole, at some point we are allowed to engage our critical faculties and address claims and viewpoints on their merits. I listened to a lot of his ranting in the “Living While Black” thread before getting sick of him. I checked, it was at post #491, and I still think this is an accurate assessment:
You’ve equated having autism with being devoid of empathy on numerous occasions, sometimes in contexts like paralleling it with the administration’s treatment of migrants. I haven’t seen you provide any citation to justify that equating.
Publicly saying, “Black people in their teens and 20s living in the inner cities of Chicago, Detroit, etc. are sociopathic menaces,” while in the process of advocating for someone else, would be roughly analogous. Those words could encapsulate a larger population who would be personally touched by them, so maybe they’d be received with greater recognition of plausibly being hate speech.
Some people are legitimately ignorant or uneducated about empathy and how a lack of communicating it socially is not the same as a lack of possessing and utilizing such functions. It doesn’t appear there’s such an excuse here given you have researched and put forth an actual hypothesis on the discrepancies of diagnoses in different communities.
Well, being confrontational is one thing. Going after others peoples’ kids is quite another. That’s not about “assuring people you’re a good person”. That’s about “giving the impression I’m a sociopath”.
I can understand his anger. But that doesn’t excuse his racism. Racism is always wrong regardless of whether it’s white racism against blacks or black racism against whites.
Oh please, I called you out for your bullshit autism theory, but I also called you out for repeatedly using “autistic” pejoratively. Covfefe does a good job of explaining why that’s a false equivalency. My personal objection, in addition to the factual issues, is that it’s morally wrong to use a physical condition as your go-to insult. I’d try and draw you an equivalency model, but I see that you consider that type of thinking “lying”.
I eat his bullshit because I Pitted you for calling his child “imported”? Your mind works in twisty and mysterious ways. Children are not things. Referring to them as handbags is bizarre, stupid, and cruel. Furthermore, if you are lying, what’s the point in even talking about equivalency? Whatever point you think you’re making there, it’s opaque.
Oh fer fecks sake, he didn’t go after anyone’s kids anymore than anyone who talks about “What’s wrong with kids today?” does.
I think that whether you realize it or not, Huey struck a nerve: he made claim about white kids, which is why some perceive it as going after “other people’s kids”. News outlets write “What’s wrong with black kids” all - the - fucking - time.
“Why aren’t black schools performing like white schools?”
“Why are black boys more likely to become criminals than white boys and Asian boys?”
You apparently were too thick to understand the blatant racism of the post that Huey responded to.
Read it again. Think about the smugness with which it was written, which is the same smugness and blithe disrespect and contempt he has for anyone not in his clan.
No sensible person is going to argue that it’s “right” to insult a man’s children. But it’s not right to assault a man’s race, either.
Think about it a little more, Sunny Daze - and the rest of you.
Just like you think about it, before you go flying off the handle here, foaming at the mouth at the latest article about Trump.
Excuse me?
I’m not exactly Shodan’s biggest fan, but referring to his children as “imported” definitely sounds a little more than “what’s wrong with kids today”, dumbass. I’d say that it crosses the line into “Being a Jerk”. Attack Shodan, fine. But his daughter isn’t a member of the board, and that’s seriously fucked up, especially calling her “imported”. Who’s the racist now?
Guess what? Being a minority or a victim of bigotry doesn’t give you a “Get Out of Jail Free” card. It’s not “be a good little POC and we’ll give you your rights”. It’s “being a victim of bigotry isn’t an excuse to be a jagoff.”
