What threads do you want to see resolved?

I just went into this thread and called the OP to tell us: did you buy the car or not?

There was a thread a few years ago where the OP found out that an anonymous one-night stand years back resulted in a child and he was all gung-ho to fly out to Tennessee (IIRC) and announce to mom and son, “I’m your papah!” I think his only evidence was timeframes and the kids picture on social media kind of looked like him. Many posters tried to help him with the issues involved with showing up to a hook-ups front door with her kid saying, “Hello just-found-out family.” and the mods put it in the cornfield due to legal issues involved although what those issues were exactly we never found out.
Whatever happened to that situation? Happy family? Court ordered weekend dad? $10s of Thousands in back child support? Was the child even his?

What threads have died off, OP never came back or were unceremoniously terminated wth extreme prejudice where you really wanted to see (and still do) what the outcome was?

Whatever the “13 Q in an FPV” was. I can’t remember exactly what that quote was. 15 years ago or so. Anybody remember that one?

14 K in a FPD as I remember it.

Found the original follow-up thread here
14 K of D in a FPD

The original thread is gone.

14 K of G in a F P D

Apparently one of our users (@tanstaafl, perhaps) registered the domain, too:

Do we know who the original poster was and where they got it?

I know nothing about any of this stuff.

Whatever happened to Rushgeekgirl and her son? I sent him a birthday package, and I know others did too. I was hoping he would really enjoy them and brighten his day and we’d have a nice update, but her last post forever was Dec 14, 2022. I’ve stopped worrying about whether or not my gift arrived and have been worried for a while what may have happened to Rushgeekgirl Especially since they both had covid complications that year. :frowning:

Oh there’s lots!

The “pyjama pants” girl, the one (I forget the details) where some woman was telling this impossible tale, but dopers were too polite to call her on her obvious BS, but she was so sincere. The hook lady, did she ever get her DORRANCE #5X STAINLESS STEEL HOOKS?

PS I am glad we resolved Al Traina.

Now if we can just find the alternate ending to Big, everything will be…complete.

Shall we @ her? I’m curious as well. @Rushgeekgirl

Then you’ve come to the right place !

That was a guy called Skewbald, talking about how the hottest girl in school had abruptly, inexplicably taken an interest in him, and was leading him steadily away from virginity, step by quivering step. And people did call him on it, in the thread I linked; there’s a link to the original in post 6 or so.

Skewbald claimed to be from a Northern European country. The Pit thread should go directly to post #92, in which the Parisian clairobscur deconstructs Skewy’s story. Such as, prom, which these two supposedly attended, is not really a thing in Europe, at least not in the American sense of it being the social event of the year, and students dressing up like movie stars. And SB being mortified at the idea of wearing a Speedo, when it’s likely that a European would only have Speedos as swimwear; it’s mostly American men who are modest in the way he was.

And also the fact that the way this young woman knew just how to push his buttons, I can’t believe she could be only 18. Her actions sounded a lot like what I’ve read about high-class, high-priced call girls (employees of Heidi Fleiss and of the Beltway Madam). Give the guy what he wants, but only a little at a time, so he’s in a constant state of tension. The longer you can drag it out, the more hooked he gets, and the more he’ll pay. Okay, clearly Pajama Girl was not a prostitute. But she sure could have made a living as one, if she was real.

Anyway, there’ll never be a followup to that. If it was made up, the ship sailed pretty quick on SB admitting it. Or if it was real, he wasn’t going to share any more of his bliss with a bunch of meanyheads.

No, I found it.

I never did get the answer

The poster left without answering the question he got from an anonymous friend who got it from a long-dead online puzzle back in 2012, returned in 2020 saying they didn’t have the answer…but posted another puzzler and left again. Unless the original is found, all answers are equally valid in my opinion.

I asked Chatgpt, and it gave me 3 different answers

And they were…?

I got two, not 3. Others added their own results

Karats are a measure of weight, and there is no such thing as an average size when it comes to jewelry.

I didn’t say they were good answers. It is AI, after all
