What TV series would you like to see come back?

Already way too much Zombie and Vampire shit on the tube!

The Good Guys

The season finale was an extended (hour-long, I think) episode. I was really hoping they had actually filmed an entire Seinfeld episode that would be presented within the CYE finale.

Alas, that was not to be. The couple of scenes we did get were gold, Jerry! Gold!

I wish they would revive the Saturday-morning cartoons, particular the ones that had their own toylines.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
GI Joe: A Real American Hero
M.A.S.K.
The Transformers
Thundercats.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

All animated traditionally, not the CGI overproduced cartoons that look terrible.

Good call, but don’t forget Mighty Max!

I wouldn’t mind seeing Animaniacs come back.

“Fingerprints!”
“I don’t think so.”

It would also be fun to see more Looney Tune shorts animated traditionally providing they could find a team to draw and write in the same way as the ones from the 1940s.

All in the Family with a conservative and a young liberal meathead going head to head. Many times both learn to mellow their views or realize they might be wrong.

Can you imagine a show today where a liberal is ever shown to be wrong?

I’m now not sure either one of us got the point of the original.

You got your tax cuts for the rich, the sabotage and imminent cratering of Obamacare, and are about to get your cuts to much needed social programs. Forgive me if I don’t shed a tear for you over this.

Someone mentioned House. I would have loved a couple more seasons, but there was another Hugh Laurie show that was unique and well written: Chance. Great show with seemingly endless potential and lines it could have explored. I was disappointed when they canceled it only after two seasons.

+1 for My Name is Earl as well. Characters make or break a show, and this one had a rich cast of interesting and amusing folks. A fun show.

Star Trek : The Animated Series.
With better animation.

Al my favorites already HAV been rebooted – Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Star Trek, The Tick, even The Dick Van Dyke Show (twice! Kinda)

If you want something off-beat, reboot My World and Welcome To It ( My World and Welcome to It - Wikipedia ) . It sort-of adapted several James Thurber stories, with DePatie-Freleng animation of Thurberesque cartoons. Or do something similar with another writer, since the original series exhausted much of the appropriate Thurber material (and Dave’s World, based on Dave Barry’s books, isn’t quite the same).

We watched the entire run of The Larry Sanders Show a while back. We want moar!

Don’t see anyway to do it at all. Without the same cast it couldn’t possibly be the same.

So, here’s one: The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd. Blair Brown is still working. Recently saw her on OitNB and Jack Ryan. It could happen.

Many of the other actors on lesser roles are still with us and working. E.g., David Strathairn, John Pankow (Ira from Mad About You) and Lewis Freakin’ Black!

Sadly the fine couple of Allyn Ann McLerie and George Gaynes have passed.

Metalocalypse. Brendon Small wanted to do one last season but Adult Swim pretty much fucked him over.

Amos and Andy

On the one hand, it would be nice to have a reboot of The Fall Guy–on the other hand, most of the stunts would involve standing in front of a green screen in a unitard covered with ping-pong balls, which kind of lacks the machismo of the original.

[Toki]Like’s 'em![/Toki]

Gunsmoke

We’re long overdue for a great tv Western. Update it & add some minority characters.

Tone down the gunfights, a little. Maybe Matt can punch the bad guy instead.

I think it’s the perfect time for Matt Dillon to play Marshall Matt Dillon. And I mean that, too, because he’d be really good.
