What tv show that's off the air do you miss the most?

Absolutely. The show actually had a really good cast too, and several decent episodes. It still pains me that it all went to waste.

Pushing Daisies
Firefly
Picket Fences
Northern Exposure

and The Prisoner

Yes. That show in particular I miss terribly. :frowning:

…I’ve said this before but I would like to see a followup to Northern Exposure. If not a whole new series (with where-are-they-now cameos from the original cast if they don’t want to come back at all), maybe a limited series or MFTV movie. I think things in Alaska would be drastically different now, climate change for one thing, the magic of the place disappearing.

Eternal high school? Heavens no! I would have liked to have followed Our Heroines through college and/or into young adulthood. Would have given us three or four more seasons.

Another one: Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Avengers: Assemble is watchable, but its predecessor was magnificent.

Pushing Daisies - network people just can’t handle originality.
The Outer Limits - The 60’s version. One of the few shows that as a kid scared me.
Firefly

and those special news casts where we are launching people to the moon.

“CHiPS” that was my fav cop show on TV!

I loved the show but I can’t blame the anyone behind the screen for this one. No one I suggested this show to liked it - no one! Fantasy fans, sci-fi geeks, horror nerds and surrealists - everyone came back looking at me like :dubious:. There simply wasn’t an big audience for it, which kills me because it was one of the most creative things tv has ever done - costumes, set design, make-up, writing, and it had a great cast. It was a new Coen Bros film every week.

Homicide: Life on the Street
Northern Exposure
Angel
NBC’s Major League Baseball Game of the Week

Sure do! They ran back to back, making for a delightful hour of juvenile entertainment. I was sad that they only lasted one season.

Yes, they found out a couple of episodes into Season 2 that it was being cancelled so they rushed everything to finish the story. From what I understand, they were planning on five total seasons but it was just too expensive to produce.

I don’t remember Mr. Terrific, but at that time there were only two Canadian TV networks (CTV not until 1960). In the Prairie Provinces if either network didn’t buy a show, we didn’t see them (if it was before cable).

That wasn’t the case in the southern Ontario area, including Toronto, which the U.S. networks could reach — Buffalo for the Toronto region and Detroit for the Windsor region.

The West Wing

Early Edition Kind of a low-violence, not-so-over-the-top version of Person of Interest

Laugh-In Not sure if this would work today, surprised nobody every tried to duplicate it.

Green Acres One of the most underrated shows in history. Purged when CBS decided to ditch every show with a rural flavor.

Deal or No Deal I miss #26 and #10.

They tried, back in 1979. It featured Robin Williams and Martin Mull, among others. It also failed miserably. :frowning:

Oh, Daria. I have the show on DVD’s and still throw my hands up when it’s over. I wish it would have continyed.

Also, Six Feet Under. It ended beautifully, but I wish it kept on going. Most amazing song/future montage combination that I’ve ever seen.

And a show that only had one season: Southie Rules. I would laugh until I cried at that family’s antics.

Flight of the Conchords

Bored to Death

Rome

I didn’t discover Firefly until recently and had to binge-watch it, but I still feel the need to mention it.

Not a “show” but an entire channel: I miss MuchMusic. Watching music videos all day long.

There used to be a show called “Pop Up Video” (on VH1, IIRC, correct me if I’m wrong) where snippets of trivia about the band would pop up during the videos - I miss that one too.

VH1 still plays Pop Up Videos. I watched it today! Looks like it makes appearances sporadically. Usually around 9 AM.

No love for Captain Kangaroo?

“Bearcats” - Rod Taylor, Dennis Cole and a 1910 (?) Stutz Bearcat combine for adventure in the Old West. 15 (?) episodes. Cool car; went out and bought a model kit.
