What was the last CD you bought?

If I recall correctly, I last bought:

American Nervoso by Botch

Buddah by Blink-182

Boy on a Cloud by TwelveTrees… excellent.

A Day Without Rain–Enya (kinda disappointed in it, though.)

A Day Without Rain - Enya (I like it though).

The Simpsons Go Symphonic

We just bought 3 Burns Sisters cds- Traditions, Out Of The Blue, and In This World. We saw them at our local coffee house recently. We went because their guitarist is an old friend of my husband’s, but we liked their music so much we ordered some online the next day.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones–Greatest Hits of the 20th Century

The Newest Sound Around, a 1961 album with Jeanne Lee singing and Ran Blake on the piano.

A really wild dead-end in modern jazz. Lee has this smoky, dark, cryptic-sounding voice, and Blake plays weird harmonics and block chords. I’ve never heard anything quite like it. Great music for 4 AM.

I heard about it two months ago…Jeanne Lee died (she was about sixty, I guess) and she had a nice little obit in the NY Times. They mentioned this record as her best work, so I decided to give it a listen. Ordered it on Amazon; took 'em six weeks to find it.

Maroon by the Bare Naked Ladies.

Dido - No Angel

Cheap Trick ('97) by Cheap Trick
It was this summer. I found it on sale so I finally picked it up. Now I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. I love it!

The last one bought for me was Brand New Day by Sting.

The Edge of Christmas by various artists, that includes Fairytale of New York by the Pogues, Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, and the Bowie & Bing duet of Little Drummer Boy. I ordered it from CDNow over Thanksgiving weekend, and it still hasn’t arrived. But I did buy it.

Return to Saturn by No Doubt.

BareNaked Ladies’ Maroonis next on my lis–as soon as it hits BMG. (What can I say, I’m cheap.)

Radiohead - Kid A

Ordered some Christmas CDs from Amazon. With the luck I’ve been having ordering from abroad lately, they should make it by next Christmas. Probably.

Last CD I bought in a store was Minor Earth, Major Sky - a-ha. (Okay, so some of you might have seen that coming.)

U2 - All That You Can’t Leave Behind… love it. And haven’t ever owned any of their other albums. Also got Beatles 1 at the same time, but that was just for the hell of it.

Buy cd’s? Who buys cd’s now that we have napster? J/K

The last Cd that I bought is Hot Water Music - No Divison
The last Cd that I copied from a friend is Euphone - hasin’ it out.

Both are great. Thanks for asking.

Oooh, small world. A colleague just introduced me to Bela Fleck’s music a couple of days ago. Amazing technique.

Anyway, my latest buy was “Rubber Soul” by the Beatles. I’ve been meaning to get some Beatles for some time, and I just read Norweigan Wood by Murakami, and Beatles music figured big in the novel. As I suspected, there were a lot of songs on the album I “knew” but didn’t recognize by name.

Either Supernatural by Santana, or Brother in Arms by Dire Straits. Not sure which.

Radiohead’s Kid A, and I love it.
