What ya smokin' in the MMP?

Good luck with the surgery FCD

My last surgery I had to take showers at specified times, and use some special wipes in the order given. I didn’t have to buy them though; the doctor’s office gave them to me.
A friend of mine just had surgery and he had to buy the wipes.

Tomorrow I take my truck to the shop to get an estimate.
Then I have to figure out what I’m going to do about getting it fixed.
I may order some groceries to pick up too.

Up from napping. Took Gordie out again, thankfully no more attempted freeloaders grabbed my leg.

He ignores squirrels, birds and foxes, is possum curious, and challenges 10 Point Whitetail deer to fights.

I got enough freeloaders in the doghouse

Yay on the lower A1c oopsie!

I heartily approve of nurse bribes! And this idea is a great one~be sure to get noe of those BIG bags, they are in stock now cause Halloween is just around the corner.

Pro tip: don’t give the nurse’s desk the bag until you’re leaving in the evening, otherwise the day shift eats them all before the evening shift, much less the night shift, have a chance at them. Bet you can guess how I know.

To review: bigggg bag and hand it over late in the day.

Evening all. Soccer has been practiced, the girls did well, but didn’t feel like fixing anything at home so I stopped at Jimmy John’s…first place I’ve seen that none of the workers were wearing masks…I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.

Hoping the surgery goes well for FCD and that you can get at least some rest tonight.

shoe, sounds like normal stuff from a normal person…good on ya. And the creep is a neighbor…I’d change my walking pattern–or take Pretzel along next time you walk by his place…

Oopsie, yeah on the good number. Hope everything else goes according to plan.

Quietly, Susan Ivanova was one of my favorite all-time characters in SF TV. Thanks for the quote. Here (for no particular reason) is my own personal favorite: Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5: No boom today (DVD quality, good audio) - YouTube

OK, dinner is assimilating, need to put the dishes away and maybe watch some college tackleball. All y’all take care.

@FairyChatMom, oops! Forgot that part about hoping the force :vulcan_salute:t3: is with FCD and his care team tomorrow. I’ll be holding you all in my thoughts :candle:

Also my favorite.

I hiked to the used furniture store and back (still nada I want/can afford) and then walked to the grocery store to stock up on my diet ginger ale, since the Labor Day pop sales are on. Total: 6 miles, but it feels like 12.

FCM, hope you and FCD both sleep soundly tonight and that all goes smoothly tomorrow. FCD is now so clean, you should adorn him with one of those strips we hotel maids used to put on toilets: “Sanitized for your protection.”

And oopsie, yay on the good blood sugar number! What a relief that must be! Also, docs should always have been proud of you. After all, you’re a heck of a person, and I’m sure you’re a personable patient.

Not to belabor the subject, but the marshmallow on top of snow cones…didn’t the cold make it harden? Also, not a big fan of marshmallow (except in s’mores), so are there other toppings that are traditional?

shoe, Creepy Neighbor had better leave you alone. Maybe it’s not practical, but I like MetalMouse’s suggestion of taking Pretzel with you when you’ll be around the jerk.

quietly, love the quotation. Now I understand why my son used to love Babylon 5.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. Hoping for a fire and clingy rodent free day.

We both slept pretty well, thanks. I just finished breakfast and he’s playing with his tablet till we leave in about 20 minutes. Better to be ready too early than to rush around, right?

And the marshmallow on snowballs never hardened for me - not sure how it was formulated, but it was yum! It also cost a penny extra… back in the 60s, of course, when a penny was still real money. Our local stands never had any other toppings, dunno about other places.

Plan of the day - get FCD settled in at the hospital, then come home. Return shortly after lunch to await his surgeon, then see my sweetie in his room. At 6 (end of visiting hours), I’m meeting my daughter and Roxy at Salsa’s for supper, then we’re going to First Friday in Leonardtown. With luck, we’ll get to ride the trolly - Roxy will love that! Then home to crash.

It’s forecast to be a gorgeous day - I’ll take that as a good omen.

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall get the Boston < snerk > BUTTS! < snerk > in the smoker shortly. The other task of the day is to deal with some church janitor Junior Warden duties and a couple other things over to the church house this mornin’. Sloth is also on the agenda. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit.

Hope everything goes well today MOOOOOOM.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy Then, alas and bother, I suppose I should purtify and don some type of appropriate bein’ about the public attire. How annoyin’!

Happy Firday Y’all!

And I’m at the hospital waiting for them to prep FCD. I get to go back after his IV is in. And so it begins…

Morning all. Finally solved the 3-sided Sudoku from last Friday late last night, just in time to get today’s paper in and start on the next one. Another nice day predicted with a high of 84F. Soccer practice tonight is with the 12U boys, then games tomorrow. A fair number of kids are going to be out due to Labor Day weekend so we’ll see how it goes.

FCM, hope all goes according to plan, including the trolley ride.

OK, onward into the day. Have a good Firday, all.

FCM, we’ll be thinking about you and FCD!

Congratulations on the numbers, Taters! I’m happy for you!

I am so glad today is Friday. This week was loooooong, though not quite as much so as last week. AND, it’s a 3-day weekend. AND, there’s no cross country meet tomorrow morning.

Current plans after work are to visit mom, then tomorrow laze around until we feel like going to the local spice store, maybe cleaning occasionally and getting in a solid waddle. Sunday, meet some friends on a patio (assuming it doesn’t rain) for drinks & dinner. Monday, hopefully laze by the pool in the early afternoon & have Labor Day dinner with mom. We’re having Cornish game hens, which I haven’t had since the 90s.

Best wishes to FCD!

Congrats on the A1c number, oopsie.

Up and chivvying the 'Beamer. Bus in 15 minutes.

Dangit, I can’t read. oopsie, congratulations!

This is what I get for trying to read without glasses or coffee.

Good morning.

Although I am off today my eyes popped open promptly at 3:30 am. I stayed in bed, waking every half hour or so until 5:30, gave up, and got out of bed. I did sleep a little better though.

I hope all went well, FCM. Here’s to a speedy and painless recovery for FCD.

I think you meant to congratulate oopsie, wordy. And, indeed congrats are due to oopsie. I’m glad things are progressing for you!

Work was still ridiculous and new and impressive fires arose, but I managed to put them all out. I didn’t feel nearly as stressed yesterday after work, but I think that has to do with the fact that interviews for my replacement have all been set up for Wednesday. Also, I talked to my boss about a couple of things that were bothering me and he managed to put me at ease. Actually, he’s not my boss, he’s sort of assisting my new boss transition, but still, you get the gist.

I have errands to run today and maybe I’ll knock out some chores. I dunno yet.

I woke up at 4 and couldn’t get back to sleep this time. I’m tired, but I decided to get up instead of lying there trying fruitlessly to lull myself back to sleep. Eventually I’ll hie my weary body to the gym. I’ll probably strip the bed and flip the mattress today–easier with two people, but there’s only one of me. I may also plant the avocado pit: it’s not time yet, but it’s growing roots and no stem, and I’ve read if you plant them, sometimes they get going on the stem.

Thinking of you and FCD, Mooooom

Monday I got some data from a company that makes marine rope, and Mrs. L.A. reminded me of a local company that makes chain. I looked them up, and they have $7 million to $17 million in revenue, depending on where I looked. I did some research and emailed my findings to El Jefe and the Account Executives as a lead. It would be nice if they became a member.

Last night we were visited by a couple of young raccoons, one of which came up onto the deck.

Home for a wee bit. They took my sweetie back to get a nerve block before going into surgery. I need to get his phone, his tablet, the chargers, his toothbrush, and something for him to eat when he wakes, because it’ll be past lunch time. I need to feed my face, too, because it’s already been 4 hours since I ate. So I’ll gather all that stuff together, make a stop for nurse bribes, then head back to the waiting room where I’ll wait. He should be done by noon and in his room shortly thereafter, I hope.

Onward to gather!
