This sounded good, but I want to Italian it up, so I’m making braciole tonight!

Fancy! Now I know what to call “stuffing rolls” if I ever compete on Chopped.
Buffalo chicken wrap, french fries, pickle slices, lemon cake, ice water, coffee at the Big Egg.
Mrs. L.A. made tuna melties (English muffin, tuna salad, sliced tomato, cheese), and I heated up the leftover seared ahi and made an ahi-and-cheese-on-wheat sandwich.
Last night Mrs. L.A. heated up Trident salmon burgers. We had them on toasted hamburger buns with mayo. I was so tired I didn’t realise how hungry I was, and had two of them.
They were good. I’ll have to try Trader Joe’s version.
Ham slices, Vermont horseradish mustard, tossed salad, ice water, raspberries (grown in our backyard) and vanilla ice cream on a chocolate brownie.
Cheese tortellini with red sauce, garlic bread, and a green salad. Lemon tartlets for dessert.
Grilled Tillamook medium cheddar on sourdough.
Grilled strip steak for him
Pan fried walleye for me
Both:
Pearl couscous with pesto and fresh garden salad
Grilled cheese and bacon wrap, falafel balls with yogurt sauce, ice water, black raspberry and chocolate chip shake
Chicken parmigiana, roasted potatoes, and green beans.
Caesar salad, grilled steak, baked potato and snap peas sauteed with red pepper in sesame oil.
Chicken salad with lettuce from our garden, French bread, ice water, and vanilla ice cream with home-grown raspberries.
RIB-EYE STEAK! and a baked potato.
I’ve been trying to ‘eat healthy’. Tilapia, chicken, ahi tuna, cod, tuna salad, Thai chicken-past salad, Cobb salad, fresh pineapple, watermelon, mangoes… I had a Big Mac on Thursday, but I couldn’t tell you the last burger I ate before that. Bacon consumption has been cut in half or more.
Tonight I smelled someone grilling something, and my body said ‘You must have meat! Not a hot dog. A slab of flesh sliced from a dead cow!’ Oh, it was good! Mrs. L.A. had chicken-and-rice soup. She might attempt a steak in a couple of days.
The last time I tried to “eat healthy” by incorporating lots of fish and chicken into my diet, my daughter (a nurse) told me about heavy metals, etc in certain fish as well as bacterial issues in chicken (I like it rare).
Burgers on the grill last night!
Well, I’m not planning on becoming pregnant. ![]()
Chicken piri-piri (for me), Cornell chicken (for the rest of the family) and some gratuitous vegetables, either in a salad, grilled, or perhaps even both.
Last night it was biscuits and gravy. Not something I normally make but hubby purchased a pound tube of Jimmy Dean and some Grands. The rest of the family championed for them and I told them I’d make it, so long as I can start cooking AFTER the sun went down. It still was suffocatingly hot in the kitchen. And yes, I used the Grands. I was already dying in the kitchen-- not gonna make biscuits from scratch when it is 89 degrees and 70% humility.
I make my sausage gravy by lightly sauteing diced onion in bacon grease before adding the sausage. And then more bacon grease AND butter before the flour. Lotsa fresh black pepper and a dash of rubbed sage. When I found people don’t put onions in the gravy, I was like hurrr?
Also, it never, ever occurred to me to use fresh ground pepper at all in anything. Pepper comes already crushed as far as I knew. Until I received a salt and pepper grinding set at an office Secret Santa. OMG! Fresh cracked pepper tastes SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Tonight it’s eggs and toast. I’m not sure if they will be scrambled or fried. I’m thinking about some scrapple, too. It’s one of those things I like and only have once in awhile. I think I’m convincing myself I need to cook some scrapple to have with the eggs and toast!
Grilled rib-eyes and corn on the cob. Mrs. L.A. had some too.
So I had steak Sunday night, leftover steak for breakfast Monday morning, steak for dinner last night, and there’s leftover steak. Yum.
